< Galatifoɔ 2 >
1 Mfeɛ dunan akyi, me ne Barnaba sane kɔɔ Yerusalem. Mede Tito nso kaa me ho.
Then fourteene yeeres after, I went vp againe to Hierusalem with Barnabas, and tooke with me Titus also.
2 Mekɔeɛ ɛfiri sɛ, Onyankopɔn na ɔdaa no adi kyerɛɛ me sɛ menkɔ. Me ne mpanimfoɔ no yɛɛ nhyiamu kɔkoam kyerɛkyerɛɛ asɛmpa a meka mekyerɛɛ amanamanmufoɔ no mu kyerɛɛ wɔn. Na mempɛ sɛ mʼadwuma a mayɛ dada ne deɛ megu so reyɛ no yɛ ɔkwa.
And I went vp by reuelation, and declared vnto them that Gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but particularly to them that were the chiefe, least by any meanes I should runne, or had runne in vaine:
3 Ɛwom sɛ me ɔboafoɔ Tito yɛ Helani deɛ, nanso wɔanhyɛ no sɛ ɔntwa twetia.
But neither yet Titus which was with me, though he were a Grecian, was compelled to be circumcised,
4 Asɛm yi siiɛ, ɛfiri sɛ anuanom bi a wɔnyɛ nokwafoɔ awia wɔn ho abɛfra yɛn mu a wɔrehwehwɛ ahofadie a yɛwɔ wɔ Kristo Yesu mu, na wɔde yɛn ayɛ nkoa.
To wit, for the false brethren which were craftily sent in, and crept in priuily to spie out our libertie, which we haue in Christ Iesus, that they might bring vs into bondage.
5 Yɛamma wɔn mu kwan koraa, sɛdeɛ nokorɛ a ɛwɔ Asɛmpa no mu no bɛtena mo mu.
To whom we gaue not place by subiection for an houre, that the trueth of the Gospel might continue with you.
6 Wɔn a wɔfa wɔn ho sɛ wɔyɛ atitire no, sɛdeɛ wɔte biara no, meka sɛ, menhunu wɔn ntam nsonsonoeɛ biara. Onyankopɔn nhwɛ nnipa ho mmu atɛn; saa mpanimfoɔ no mfaa adwene foforɔ biara mmɛkaa mʼasɛm no ho.
But by them which seemed to be great, I was not taught (whatsoeuer they were in time passed, I am nothing the better: God accepteth no mans person) for they that are the chiefe, did adde nothing to me aboue that I had.
7 Na mmom, wɔhunuu sɛ Onyankopɔn de dwuma no ahyɛ me nsa sɛ menka Asɛmpa no nkyerɛ amanamanmufoɔ sɛdeɛ ɔde dwuma no hyɛɛ Petro nsa sɛ ɔnka Asɛmpa no nkyerɛ Yudafoɔ no ara pɛ.
But contrariwise, when they saw that ye Gospel ouer ye vncircumcision was comitted vnto me, as the Gospel ouer ye circumcision was vnto Peter:
8 Na Onyankopɔn a ɔnam Petro so yɛ adwuma sɛ Yudafoɔ mu somafoɔ no ara na ɔnam me so yɛ adwuma wɔ amanamanmufoɔ mu sɛdeɛ Petro yɛ Yudafoɔ mu adwuma no pɛ.
(For he that was mightie by Peter in the Apostleship ouer the circumcision, was also mightie by me toward the Gentiles)
9 Yakobo, Petro ne Yohane a na wɔfa no sɛ wɔyɛ mpanimfoɔ no gye too mu sɛ, Onyankopɔn ama me dwuma sononko bi sɛ menyɛ, enti wɔkyeaa me ne Barnaba. Wɔpenee so sɛ yɛnyɛ adwuma wɔ amanamanmufoɔ no mu na wɔn nso wɔnyɛ adwuma wɔ Yudafoɔ no mu.
And when Iames, and Cephas, and Iohn, knew of the grace that was giuen vnto me, which are counted to be pillars, they gaue to me and to Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we should preach vnto the Gentiles, and they vnto the Circumcision,
10 Wɔbisaa sɛ yɛnkae ahiafoɔ wɔ wɔn kuo no mu sɛdeɛ mepɛ sɛ meyɛ no.
Warning onely that we should remember the poore: which thing also I was diligent to doe.
11 Ɛberɛ a Petro baa Antiokia no, metiaa deɛ ɔreyɛ no mu wɔ badwa mu, ɛfiri sɛ, na ɔreyɛ mfomsoɔ.
And when Peter was come to Antiochia, I withstood him to his face: for he was to be condemned.
12 Ansa na mmarima bi a Yakobo somaa wɔn no bɛduruu hɔ no, na Petro ne anuanom amanamanmufoɔ no to nsa didi. Nanso, nnipa no bɛduruiɛ akyi no, ɔtwee ne ho a ɔne wɔn annidi bio, ɛfiri sɛ, na ɔsuro wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔtwa amanamanmufoɔ twetia no.
For before that certaine came from Iames, he ate with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himselfe, fearing them which were of the Circumcision.
13 Anuanom Yudafoɔ a aka no yɛɛ sɛ ahufoɔ de wɔn ho bɔɔ Petro maa Barnaba nso de ne ho kɔbataa wɔn ho.
And the other Iewes played the hypocrites likewise with him, in so much that Barnabas was led away with them by that their hypocrisie.
14 Mehunuu sɛ deɛ wɔreyɛ no ne Asɛmpa no bɔ abira no, mekaa no wɔ Petro ne badwa no anim sɛ, “Woyɛ Yudani a seesei wonni Yudafoɔ amanneɛ so bio. Adɛn enti na wohyɛ amanamanmufoɔ sɛ wɔnni Yudafoɔ amanneɛ so?
But when I saw, that they went not ye right way to the trueth of ye Gospel, I sayd vnto Peter before all men, If thou being a Iewe, liuest as the Gentiles, and not like the Iewes, why constrainest thou the Gentiles to doe like the Iewes?
15 “Ɛyɛ nokorɛ sɛ yɛyɛ Yudafoɔ firi yɛn awoɔ mu. Yɛnyɛ amanamanmufoɔ nnebɔneyɛfoɔ no.
We which are Iewes by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,
16 Yɛnim sɛ ansa na obi bɛdi bem wɔ Onyankopɔn anim no, na gye sɛ wagye Yesu Kristo adi a ɛnyɛ sɛ ɔbɛyɛ deɛ mmara no hwehwɛ sɛ ɔnyɛ no. Yɛn nso, yɛagye Kristo Yesu adi sɛdeɛ yɛnam so bɛdi bem wɔ Onyankopɔn anim; ɛfiri sɛ, ɛnam gyidie so na wɔbɛbu yɛn bem, na ɛnyɛ mmara no apɛdeɛ a yɛyɛ no so.
Knowe that a man is not iustified by the works of the Law, but by ye faith of Iesus Christ, euen we, I say, haue beleeued in Iesus Christ, that we might be iustified by the faith of Christ, and not by the workes of the Lawe, because that by the workes of the Lawe, no flesh shalbe iustified.
17 “Sɛ yɛpɛ sɛ wɔbu yɛn bem wɔ Kristo mu na sɛ ɛda adi sɛ yɛn nso yɛyɛ nnebɔneyɛfoɔ a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ Kristo pene bɔne so? Ɛnte saa koraa.
If then while we seeke to be made righteous by Christ, we our selues are found sinners, is Christ therefore the minister of sinne? God forbid.
18 Na sɛ mehyɛ aseɛ yɛ deɛ magyae a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ meyɛ mmaratofoɔ.
For if I build againe the things that I haue destroyed, I make my selfe a trespasser.
19 “Ɛfiri sɛ, mpɛn dodoɔ a mepɛɛ sɛ mɛdi mmara no so no, mmara no buu me fɔ. Mmara no ankasa akum me. Ɛno enti, menni mmara no tumi ase bio, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, mɛtena ase mama Onyankopɔn mmom. Wɔabɔ me ne Kristo asɛnnua mu,
For I through the Lawe am dead to the Lawe, that I might liue vnto God.
20 enti ɛnyɛ me na mete ase bio, na mmom, Kristo no na ɔte me mu. Saa asetena a mete mu seesei yi, mete ase wɔ Onyankopɔn Ba no a ɔdɔ me na ɔde ne nkwa maa me no gyidie mu.
I am crucified with Christ, but I liue, yet not I any more, but Christ liueth in me: and in that that I now liue in the flesh, I liue by the faith in the Sonne of God, who hath loued me, and giuen him selfe for me.
21 Mempo Onyankopɔn adom no. Sɛ onipa nam Mmara so fata Onyankopɔn anim a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ Kristo wu a ɔwuiɛ no yɛ ɔkwa.”
I doe not abrogate the grace of God: for if righteousnes be by the Lawe, then Christ dyed without a cause.
