15 Meboaa asutwafoɔ no ano wɔ Ahawa nsukwan no so, na yɛmaa wɔtenaa hɔ nnansa wɔ ɛberɛ a merehwɛ nnipa no ne asɔfoɔ a wɔabɛduru hɔ no din mu no. Manhunu Lewifoɔ no mu baako mpo wɔ hɔnom.
I gathered the travelers at the canal that goes to Ahava, and we camped there three days. I examined the people and priests, but could not find any descendants of Levi there.
16 Enti, mesoma ma wɔkɔfrɛɛ Elieser, Ariel, Semaia, Elnatan, Yarib, Elnatan, Natan, Sakaria ne Mesulam, a wɔyɛ ɔmanfoɔ no ntuanofoɔ no. Mesane soma ma wɔkɔfrɛɛ Yoiarib ne Elnatan, a na wɔyɛ anyansafoɔ pa bi no nso.
So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, and Elnathan and Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam—who were leaders—and for Joiarib and Elnathan—who were teachers.
17 Mede wɔn kɔmaa Ido a na ɔtua Lewifoɔ ano no, wɔ Kasifia, bisaa ɔne nʼabusuafoɔ ne asɔredan no mu asomfoɔ no sɛ wɔmmrɛ yɛn asɔfoɔ mfa wɔn nkɔyɛ Onyankopɔn asɔredan a ɛwɔ Yerusalem no mu adwuma.
Next I sent them to Iddo, the leader in Kasiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his relatives, the temple servants living in Kasiphia, that is, to send to us servants for the house of God.
So they sent us by our God's good hand a man named Sherebiah, a prudent man. He was a descendant of Mahli son of Levi son of Israel. He came with eighteen sons and brothers.
19 Afei, wɔmaa Merari asefoɔ Yesaia, Hasabia ne ne mmammarima ne ne nuammarima aduonu
With him came Hashabiah. There also were Jeshaiah, one of the sons of Merari, with his brothers and their sons, twenty men in all.
20 ne asɔredan no mu asomfoɔ ahanu ne aduonu baeɛ. Na asɔredan mu asomfoɔ no yɛ Lewifoɔ no aboafoɔ a na wɔyɛ asɔredan mu adwumayɛfoɔ kuo bi a Dawid na ɔfaa wɔn kane. Wɔtwerɛɛ wɔn nyinaa din.
Of those assigned to serve in the temple, whom David and his officials gave to serve the Levites: 220, each of them assigned by name.
21 Na Ahawa Nsuka no so, mehyɛɛ sɛ yɛnni mmuada, na yɛmmrɛ yɛn ho ase mma Onyankopɔn. Yɛbɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ ɔbɛma yɛakɔduru dwoodwoo, na wabɔ yɛn, yɛn mma ne yɛn nneɛma a yɛde rebɛtu kwan no ho ban.
Then I proclaimed a fast at the Ahava Canal to humble ourselves before God, to seek a straight path from him for us, our little ones, and all our possessions.
22 Na mefɛree sɛ mebisaa ɔhene no sɛ ɔmma yɛn asraafoɔ ne apɔnkɔsotefoɔ sɛ wɔnka yɛn ho mmɔ yɛn ho ban wɔ ɛkwan so. Nokorɛm, na yɛaka akyerɛ ɔhene no sɛ, “Yɛn Onyankopɔn bɔ wɔn a wɔsom no no ho ban, na nʼabufuhyeɛ no tia wɔn a wɔgya no.”
I was ashamed to ask the king for an army or horsemen to protect us against enemies along the way, since we had said to the king, 'The hand of our God is on all who seek him for good, but his might and wrath are on all who forget him.'
23 Enti, yɛdii mmuada, bɔɔ mpaeɛ nokorɛ mu, sɛ yɛn Onyankopɔn bɛhwɛ yɛn, na ɔtiee yɛn mpaeɛbɔ.
So we fasted and sought God about this, and we pled to him.
24 Na meyii asɔfoɔ no ntuanofoɔ dumienu a wɔne Serebia, Hasabia ne asɔfoɔ afoforɔ edu a wɔka wɔn ho,
Next I selected twelve men from the priestly officials: Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brothers.
25 sɛ wɔnhwɛ dwetɛ, sikakɔkɔɔ, sikakɔkɔɔ atam ne nneɛma a ɛka ho a ɔhene no nʼagyinatufoɔ, ne ntuanofoɔ ne Israelfoɔ de rekɔkyɛ Onyankopɔn asɔredan no so.
I weighed out for them silver, gold, and the objects and offerings for the house of God that the king, his counselors and officials, and all Israel had freely offered.
26 Mede agudeɛ no rema wɔn no, mekariiɛ na mehunuu sɛ emu duru yɛ: dwetɛ nkariboɔ tɔno aduonu mmienu, sikakɔkɔɔ nkuku ne nkaka nkariboɔ kilogram mpem mmiɛnsa ne ahanan, sikakɔkɔɔ nkariboɔ kilogram mpem mmiɛnsa ne ahanan,
So I weighed into their hand 650 talents of silver, one hundred talents of silver objects, one hundred talents of gold,
27 sikakɔkɔɔ atam aduonu a ɛne sikakɔkɔɔ pranpran apem boɔ yɛ pɛ, kɔbere nneɛma mmienu a wɔabere ho ma ɛrekɔyɛ sɛ sikakɔkɔɔ amapa.
twenty gold bowls that were together valued at one thousand darics, and two well-polished bronze vessels as precious as gold.
Then I said to them, “You are consecrated to Yahweh, and these objects also, and the silver and gold are a freewill offering to Yahweh, the God of your ancestors.
29 Monhwɛ saa agyapadeɛ yi so yie, na momfa mma asɔfoɔ mpanin, Lewifoɔ ne Israel ntuanofoɔ wɔ adekoraeɛ a ɛwɔ Awurade asɔredan no mu wɔ Yerusalem no.”
Watch over them and keep them until you weigh them out before the priestly officials, Levites, and leaders of the ancestors' clans of Israel in Jerusalem in the rooms of God's house.”
30 Enti, asɔfoɔ no ne Lewifoɔ no gye too wɔn ho so sɛ, wɔde saa Onyankopɔn asɔre sika no bɛkɔ Yerusalem.
The priests and the Levites accepted the weighed silver, gold, and the objects in order to take them to Jerusalem, to our God's house.
31 Yɛfirii Ahawa Nsuka atenaeɛ hɔ Ab bosome (bɛyɛ Oforisuo) da a ɛtɔ so dunkron, hyɛɛ aseɛ kɔɔ Yerusalem. Na Onyankopɔn ahummɔborɔ nsa no bɔɔ yɛn ho ban, gyee yɛn firii atamfoɔ ne akwanmukafoɔ nsam.
We went out from the Ahava Canal on the twelfth day of the first month to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us; he protected us from the hand of the enemy and the ones who wished to ambush us along the road.
32 Enti, yɛkɔduruu Yerusalem dwoodwoo, homee hɔ nnansa.
So we entered Jerusalem and stayed there for three days.
33 Yɛduruiɛ no, ne nnanan so, wɔkarii dwetɛ, sikakɔkɔɔ ne aboɔdenneɛ a aka no wɔ Onyankopɔn asɔredan no mu, na wɔde hyɛɛ Uria babarima ɔsɔfoɔ Meremot ne Pinehas babarima Eleasa ne Yesua babarima Yosabad ne Binui babarima Noadia a wɔn baanu no yɛ Lewifoɔ no nsa.
Then on the fourth day the silver, gold, and objects were weighed out in our God's house into the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah the priest, and with him were Eleazar son of Phinehas, Jozabad son of Jeshua, and Noadiah son of Binnui the Levite.
34 Wɔkanee biribiara dodoɔ, karii ne mu duru, twerɛɛ biribiara.
The number and weight of everything was determined. All the weight was written down at that time.
The ones who came back from the captivity, the people of exile, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all of Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve male goats as a sin offering. All were a burnt offering for Yahweh.
36 Wɔde ɔhene no mmara no maa ne mpanimfoɔ ne amradofoɔ a wɔwɔ asuo Eufrate atɔeɛ fam, na wɔn nyinaa yɛɛ baako, boaa Onyankopɔn asɔredan no sie.
Then they gave the king's decrees to the king's high officials and the governors in the Province Beyond the River, and they helped the people and the house of God.
