< Hesekiel 19 >

1 “Momma Israel mmapɔmma ho kwadwom
Moreover, take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2 na monka sɛ: “‘Na wo maame yɛ gyatabereɛ mu soronko wɔ agyata mu! Ɔdaa gyataburuwa mu yɛnee ne mma.
and say: —How lay thy mother at ease, a lioness among lions! Among young lions she nourished her whelps;
3 Ɔyɛn ne mma no mu baako ma ɔbɛyɛɛ gyata ɔhoɔdenfoɔ. Ɔsuaa sɛdeɛ wɔtete ahaboa mu, na ɔwee nnipa nam.
And she brought up one of her whelps; He became a young lion, And he learned to seize the prey; he devoured men.
4 Amanaman no tee ne nka, na wɔn amena yii no. Wɔguu no nkapo de no kɔɔ Misraim asase so.
And when the nations heard of him, he was taken in their pit, And they brought him with nose-rings to the land of Egypt.
5 “‘Ɛberɛ a ɔhunuu sɛ nʼanidasoɔ anyɛ hɔ, na deɛ ɔrehwɛ anim ayera no, ɔfaa ne ba foforɔ yɛɛ no gyata ɔhoɔdenfoɔ.
And when she saw that she waited in vain, and that her hope was lost, She took another of her whelps, and she made him a young lion.
6 Ɔkyinkyinii agyata no mu ɛfiri sɛ na wayɛ gyata hoɔdenfoɔ. Ɔsuaa sɛdeɛ wɔtete ahaboa mu na ɔwee nnipa nam.
And he went up and down among the lions; he became a young lion, And he learned to seize the prey; he devoured men.
7 Ɔbubuu wɔn abandenden na ɔsɛee wɔn nkuro. Asase no ne wɔn a wɔte so nyinaa no, ne mmobomu bɔɔ wɔn hu.
He knew their widows, and laid waste their cities, And the land was desolate, and all that was therein, before the voice of his roaring.
8 Afei amanaman no sɔre tiaa no, wɔn a wɔfiri nsase a atwa ahyia no so. Wɔguu no asau kyeree no wɔ wɔn amena mu.
Then the nations set themselves against him on every side from the provinces, And spread their net over him; He was taken in their pit.
9 Wɔde nnarewa twee no kɔhyɛɛ ebuo mu na wɔde no brɛɛ Babilonia ɔhene. Wɔde no too nneduafie, na wɔante ne mmobomu no bio wɔ Israel mmepɔ no so.
And they put him with nose rings into a cage, And carried him to the king of Babylon. And they carried him to a stronghold, That his voice might be heard no more Upon the mountains of Israel.
10 “‘Na wo maame te sɛ bobedua a wɔtɛɛ no nsuo ho wɔ wo bobeturo mu. Na ɛso aba, na ɛyiyii mman nsuo a ɔnya no bebree no enti.
Thy mother was like a vine planted like thyself by the waters; She was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters;
11 Ne mman yɛɛ den yie ɛdi mu sɛ wɔde yɛ ahemfo ahempoma. Ɛkorɔn, bunkam faa nhahan a ayɛ kuhaa no so, ne sorokɔ ne ne mman bebree no maa no yɛɛ sononko.
She had strong rods for sceptres of rulers, And her stature was high among the thick branches, So that she was conspicuous in her height, And the multitude of her branches.
12 Nanso wɔde abufuhyeɛ tuu nʼase de no hwee fam. Apueeɛ mframa maa no kasaeɛ, ɛso aba tete guiɛ; na ne mman a ɛwɔ ahoɔden no twintwameeɛ na ogya hyeeɛ.
But she was plucked up in fury, She was cast down to the ground, And the east wind dried up her fruit. Her strong rods were broken and withered; The fire consumed them.
13 Afei wɔakɔtɛ no wɔ ɛserɛ so asase wesee a nsuo nni muo.
And now she is planted in the desert, In a dry and thirsty land.
14 Ogya trɛ firii ne mman baako so na ɛhyee nʼaba. Anka mman a ɛwɔ ahoɔden baako mpo wɔ so deɛ wɔde yɛ ahemfo ahempoma ma ɛyɛ yie no.’ Yei yɛ kwadwom, na ma wɔnto no saa ara.”
And a fire is gone forth out of a rod of her branches, Which hath devoured her fruit, So that she hath no strong rod for a ruler's sceptre. This is a lamentation, and it shall be for a lamentation.
