< Efesofoɔ 4 >
1 Me a meyɛ odeduani ma Awurade no hyɛ mo sɛ montena ase mma ɛmfata ɔfrɛ a wɔafrɛ mo no.
I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called;
2 Mommrɛ mo ho ase koraa na monnwo; monto mo bo ase, na mone obiara ntena wɔ ɔdɔ mu.
with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love,
3 Mommɔ mmɔden sɛ monam asomdwoeɛ ahoma so bɛma Honhom baakoyɛ no atena mo mu.
earnestly endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 Nipadua baako ne Honhom baako na ɛwɔ hɔ, sɛdeɛ wɔfrɛɛ mo kɔɔ anidasoɔ baako,
There is one body and one Spirit, even as you have been called in one hope of your calling;
5 Awurade baako, gyidie baako ne asubɔ baako mu no.
one Lord, one faith, one immersion;
6 Yɛwɔ Onyankopɔn a ɔyɛ yɛn nyinaa Agya a ɔdi yɛn nyinaa so. Ɔnam yɛn nyinaa mu, na ɔte yɛn nyinaa mu nso.
one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in you all.
7 Yɛn mu biara wɔ adom bi sɛdeɛ Kristo akyɛ ama yɛn.
But grace has been given to each one of us, according to the measure of the gift of the Christ.
8 Yei enti na Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ, “Ɛberɛ a ɔforo kɔɔ ɔsoro no, ɔfaa nneduafoɔ kaa ne ho; na ɔmaa nnipa akyɛdeɛ.”
For which reason, the scripture says: When he ascended on high, he led captive a multitude of captives, and gave gifts to men.
9 Afei sɛ “ɔkɔɔ ɔsoro” no nkyerɛaseɛ ne sɛn? Aseɛ kyerɛ sɛ, deɛ ɛdi ɛkan no, ɔkɔɔ fam, asase ase pɛɛ.
But this―He ascended―what does it mean, but that he also descended into the lower earthly regions?
10 Enti deɛ ɔkɔɔ fam no ara na ɔkɔɔ ɔsoro a ɛboro ewiem nyinaa so, sɛdeɛ ɔbɛhyɛ abɔdeɛ nyinaa ma.
He that descended is also he that ascended high above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 Ɔno na ɔmaa ebinom yɛɛ asomafoɔ, afoforɔ yɛɛ adiyifoɔ, afoforɔ yɛɛ asɛmpakafoɔ, na afoforɔ nso yɛɛ asɔfoɔ ne akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ.
And he himself gave some to be apostles, and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 Ɔyɛɛ yei de siesiee Onyankopɔn nkurɔfoɔ nyinaa maa ɔsom nnwuma, sɛdeɛ Kristo onipadua no nyini bɛkɔso
for the complete instruction of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of the Christ,
13 kɔsi sɛ yɛn nyinaa bɛnya gyidie baako ne Onyankopɔn Ba no ho nimdeɛ baako, na yɛawie nyini wɔ Kristo mayɛ mu.
till we all come to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature that fully develops the Christ;
14 Yɛrenyɛ mmɔfra bio, wɔn a asorɔkye bɔ wɔn kɔ deɛ ɛpɛ, na nkyerɛkyerɛ mframa biara de wɔn di akɔneaba na nnipa bradɛtofoɔ ne anifirefoɔ daadaa wɔn.
that we might no longer be children, tossed and carried about by every wind of teaching, through the artifice of men, through craftiness used by them for the deliberate planning of deceit;
15 Mmom, sɛ yɛtena ase nokorɛ ne ɔdɔ honhom mu a, yɛbɛnyini wɔ Kristo a ɔyɛ asafo no Ti mu.
but speaking truthfully in love, we might grow up in all things, into him who is the head, even the Christ,
16 Ne mu na honam akwaa ahodoɔ no sosɔ wɔn ho wɔn ho mu. Ne mu na obiara yɛ nʼadwuma na onipadua no nyini ahoɔden so wɔ ɔdɔ mu.
from whom the whole body, compactly fitted together, and united by every helping joint, according to the energy in the measure of each part, makes increase of the body, for the building up of itself in love.
17 Mede Awurade din bɔ mo kɔkɔ sɛ, monntena ase bio sɛ amanamanmufoɔ a wɔnni adwene pa bi,
This I say, therefore, and appeal to you solemnly in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the other Gentiles walk, in the error of their minds,
18 na esum aduru wɔn nteaseɛ. Wɔnnim hwee na wɔyɛ asoɔden. Wɔnnim Onyankopɔn mu asetena na wɔnni atenka ma deɛ ɛtene.
darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
19 Wɔn ani nwu hwee. Wɔagyaa wɔn ho ama bɔne na wɔyɛ afideɛ ahodoɔ nyinaa bi a wɔnnu wɔn ho.
who, being past feeling, have given themselves up to licentiousness, that they may work all manner of uncleanness with greediness.
20 Ɛnyɛ saa na mosua faa Kristo ho.
But you have not so learned the Christ,
21 Ɛyɛ nokorɛ sɛ motee ne nka, na wɔkyerɛkyerɛɛ mo sɛdeɛ nokorɛ a ɛwɔ Yesu mu no teɛ.
if, indeed, you have heard of him, and been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 Enti, montwe mo ho mfiri mo suban dada no a akɔnnɔ bɔne ama aporɔ no ho.
that, as to your former life, you put off the old man, which is corrupt, according to its deceitful desires,
23 Momma Honhom no nyɛ mo akoma ne mo adwene foforɔ,
and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 na montena ase wɔ suban foforɔ a wɔbɔɔ no Onyankopɔn sɛso wɔ teneneeyɛ ne kronkronyɛ mu.
and put on the new man, which, according to the will of God, is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Monnni atorɔ nkyerɛ mo ho mo ho. Obiara nni nokorɛ nkyerɛ ne nua, ɛfiri sɛ, yɛn nyinaa yɛ nnipa baako wɔ Kristo onipadua mu.
For which reason, putting away lying, speak, every one, truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.
26 Sɛ wo bo fu a, nyɛ bɔne mma awia nkɔtɔ wʼabufuo so.
Be angry, and yet do not sin: let not the sun go down on your wrath,
nor give place to the devil.
28 Ɛsɛ sɛ obi a ɔbɔ korɔno no gyae korɔnobɔ. Obiara nyɛ adwuma na moatumi aboa afoforɔ.
Let him that steals, steal no more: but rather let labor, working with his hands that which is good, that he may have something to give to him that has need.
29 Mma kasa bɔne mfiri wʼanomu, na mmom, ka kasa pa na aboa afoforɔ sɛdeɛ ɛhia wɔn na wɔn a wɔtie anya ho mfasoɔ.
Let no impure speech come out of your mouth, but whatever is good for needful edification, that it may give grace to the hearers:
30 Monnhyɛ Onyankopɔn Honhom Kronkron a wɔnam so asɔ mo ano ama ɔgyeɛ da no werɛ.
and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, with which you have been sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Monyi yeadie, bobɔne ne abufuo, ahohoahoa ne nsekuro ne bɔnepɛ nyinaa mfiri mo mu.
Let all bitterness and anger and wrath and clamor and impious speaking be put away from you, with all malice:
32 Monyɛ ayamyɛ mma mo ho mo ho. Mo yam nhyehye mo mma mo ho mo ho, na momfa mo mfomsoɔ nkyekyɛkyekyɛ mo ho mo ho sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn nam Kristo so de mo bɔne kyɛɛ mo no.
and be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
