< 5 Mose 8 >
1 Monhwɛ yie na monni mmara a merehyɛ ama mo ɛnnɛ yi so, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, mobɛtena ase na moadɔɔso na moakɔ asase a Awurade kaa ntam de hyɛɛ mo agyanom bɔ no na moatena so.
Ye shall keepe all the commandements which I command thee this day, for to doe them: that ye may liue, and be multiplied, and goe in, and possesse the land which the Lord sware vnto your fathers.
2 Monkae sɛdeɛ Awurade mo Onyankopɔn dii mo anim faa ɛserɛ so mfeɛ aduanan, nam so brɛɛ mo ase de sɔɔ mo suban hwɛeɛ sɛ mobɛdi ne mmara so anaasɛ morenni so no.
And thou shalt remember all ye way which the Lord thy God led thee this fourtie yeere in the wildernesse, for to humble thee and to proue thee, to knowe what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keepe his commandements or no.
3 Nokorɛm, ɔmaa ɛkɔm dee mo nam so brɛɛ mo ase, ɛnna ɔmaa mo mana, aduane a na anka mo ne mo agyanom nnii bi da. Ɔyɛɛ saa de kyerɛɛ mo sɛ, ɛnyɛ aduane nko ara na ɛho hia onipa wɔ nʼasetena mu, na mmom, deɛ ɛhia titire ne Awurade asɛm.
Therefore he humbled thee, and made thee hungry, and fed thee with MAN, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know it, that he might teache thee that man liueth not by bread onely, but by euery worde that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord, doth a man liue.
4 Mfeɛ aduanan yi nyinaa mu, mo ntadeɛ antete, na mo nan ammɔ mpumpunnya na anhonhono nso.
Thy raiment waxed not olde vpon thee, neither did thy foote swell those fourtie yeeres.
5 Enti, deɛ ɛsɛ sɛ mohunu ne sɛ, sɛdeɛ ɔbaatan tea ne ba no, saa ara nso na Awurade mo Onyankopɔn tea mo de boa mo.
Knowe therefore in thine heart, that as a man nourtereth his sonne, so the Lord thy God nourtereth thee.
6 Monni Awurade mo Onyankopɔn ahyɛdeɛ so na monnante nʼakwan so na momfa anidie mma no.
Therefore shalt thou keepe the commandements of the Lord thy God, that thou mayest walke in his wayes, and feare him.
7 Ɛfiri sɛ, mo Awurade de mo rekɔ asase pa so—asase a asutene, mmura ne nsutire resene wɔ bɔnhwa ne mmepɔ mu;
For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land in the which are riuers of water and fountaines, and depthes that spring out of valleis and mountaines:
8 asase a atokoɔ, ayuo, bobe, borɔdɔma, ateaa, ngo dua ne ɛwoɔ wɔ so.
A land of wheate and barley, and of vineyards, and figtrees, and pomegranates: a land of oyle oliue and hony:
9 Ɛyɛ asase a aduane abu wɔ so a biribiara wɔ so; ɛyɛ asase a fagudeɛ dadeɛ abu so te sɛ aboɔ, na sumpii nso nyɛ na wɔ ne mmepɔ mu.
A land wherein thou shalt eate bread without scarcitie, neither shalt thou lacke any thing therein: a land whose stones are yron, and out of whose mountaines thou shalt digge brasse.
10 Sɛ modidi mee a, monhyira Awurade mo Onyankopɔn wɔ asase pa a ɔde ama mo no enti.
And when thou hast eaten and filled thy selfe, thou shalt blesse the Lord thy God for the good land, which he hath giuen thee.
11 Nanso, monhwɛ yie na mo werɛ amfiri Awurade mo Onyankopɔn a morenni ne mmara ne nʼahyɛdeɛ a merehyɛ mo ɛnnɛ yi so.
Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, not keeping his commandements, and his lawes, and his ordinances, which I commaund thee this day:
12 Anyɛ saa a, sɛ modidi na momee na mosisi mo afie fɛfɛ, na mokɔtena mu
Lest when thou hast eaten and filled thy selfe, and hast built goodly houses and dwelt therein,
13 na mo anantwie ne nnwan ase dɔre, na monya dwetɛ ne sika pii, na mo agyapadeɛ nyinaa dɔɔso
And thy beastes, and thy sheepe are increased, and thy siluer and golde is multiplied, and all that thou hast is increased,
14 a, saa ɛberɛ no na ɛsɛ sɛ mohwɛ yie. Monnyɛ ahomasoɔ na mommma mo werɛ mfiri Awurade mo Onyankopɔn a ɔyii mo firii Misraim nkoasom asase so no.
Then thine heart be lifted vp and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage,
15 Mommma mo werɛ mfiri sɛ ɔno na ɔdii mo anim yii mo firii ɛserɛ a na ɛso yɛ hu so. Ɔno na ɔyii mo firii asase a ɛso yɛ hye, a awɔ ne anyanyankyerɛ a wɔn ano wɔ borɔ wɔ so no so. Ɔmaa mo nsuo firi ɔbotan mu.
Who was thy guide in the great and terrible wildernes (wherein were fierie serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where was no water, who brought forth water for thee out of ye rock of flint:
16 Ɔmaa mo mana aduane a mo agyanom nnim diiɛ wɔ ɛserɛ so. Ɔyɛɛ yei de brɛɛ mo ase, de sɔɔ mo hwɛeɛ wɔ mo ankasa yiedie mu.
Who fed thee in the wildernesse with MAN, which thy fathers knewe not) to humble thee, and and to proue thee, that he might doe thee good at thy latter ende.
17 Ɔyɛɛ saa de kyerɛɛ mo sɛ, ɛnsɛ sɛ modwene sɛ mo ahonya no firi mo ankasa mo ahoɔden mu.
Beware least thou say in thine heart, My power, and the strength of mine owne hand hath prepared me this abundance.
18 Daa monkae sɛ, Awurade mo Onyankopɔn a ɔma mo tumi ma moyɛ adefoɔ no, ɔyɛ saa de dii apam a ɔne mo agyanom hyɛeɛ no so.
But remember the Lord thy God: for it is he which giueth thee power to get substance to establish his couenant which he sware vnto thy fathers, as appeareth this day.
19 Na mereka akyerɛ mo sɛ, sɛ mo werɛ firi Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn, na mokɔdi anyame foforɔ akyi, som wɔn, koto wɔn a, sɛeɛ na wɔbɛsɛe mo.
And if thou forget the Lord thy God, and walke after other gods, and serue them, and worship them, I testifie vnto you this day that ye shall surely perish.
20 Sɛdeɛ Awurade asɛe amanaman a na wɔwɔ mo anim no, mo nso sɛ moantie Awurade mo Onyankopɔn a, saa ara na wɔbɛsɛe mo.
As the nations which the Lord destroyeth before you, so ye shall perish, because ye woulde not be obedient vnto the voyce of the Lord your God.
