1 Ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Anania ne ne yere Safira kɔtɔn wɔn agyapadeɛ bi.
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sappirah, his wife, sold a possession,
2 Ɔne ne yere yi yɛɛ adwene de sika a wɔnyaeɛ no bi sieeɛ na wɔde nkaeɛ no brɛɛ asomafoɔ no.
and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part, and put it at the apostles' feet.
3 Petro bisaa no sɛ, “Anania, adɛn enti na woama ɔbonsam ho kwan ama wabɛhyɛ wo mu na woadi atorɔ akyerɛ Honhom Kronkron no na wode sika a wonyaeɛ no bi asie?
But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Ansa na worebɛtɔn agyapadeɛ no na ɛyɛ wʼankasa wo dea; wotɔn wieeɛ no nso, sika a wonyaeɛ no, na ɛyɛ wo dea; na adɛn enti na woyɛɛ wʼadwene sɛ wobɛyɛ deɛ woayɛ yi? Ɛnyɛ nnipa na woadi atorɔ akyerɛ wɔn, na mmom, woadi atorɔ akyerɛ Onyankopɔn.”
While you kept it, did not it remain your own? After it was sold, was not it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to people, but to God."
5 Anania tee saa asɛm yi ara pɛ, ɔtwa hwee fam wuiɛ; na ehu kaa obiara a ɔtee saa asɛm yi no.
Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard it.
6 Wɔn mu mmeranteɛ no baeɛ bɛkyekyeree amu no firii adi kɔsiee no.
The young men arose and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him.
7 Ɛbɛyɛ nnɔnhwere mmiɛnsa akyi no, ne yere a na ɔnnim asɛm a asi no baa hɔ.
About three hours later, his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.
8 Petro bisaa no sɛ, “Wo ne wo kunu, motɔn mo asase no, sika a monyaeɛ nyinaa ara nie? Ka kyerɛ me.” Ɔbuaa sɛ, “Aane ne nyinaa ne no.”
Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much." She said, "Yes, for so much."
9 Petro ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Adɛn enti na wo ne wo kunu penee so sɛ mobɛsɔ Onyankopɔn Honhom ahwɛ? Hwɛ! Nnipa a wɔkɔsiee wo kunu no gyina ɛpono yi akyi, na saa ara na wo nso, wɔbɛsoa wo akɔsie wo.”
But Peter asked her, "How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out."
10 Amonom hɔ ara, ɔtwa hwee Petro anim wuiɛ. Mmeranteɛ no bɛhunuu sɛ wawu no, wɔsoaa no, kɔsiee no wɔ ne kunu nkyɛn.
She fell down immediately at his feet, and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
11 Ehu kɛseɛ bɔɔ asafo no nyinaa ne nnipa a wɔtee saa asɛm yi no.
Great fear came on the whole church, and on all who heard these things.
12 Na asomafoɔ no taa hyia wɔ asɔredan no fa baabi a wɔfrɛ no “Salomo Abrannaa” so hɔ. Sɛ wɔhyia wɔ hɔ saa a, wɔyɛ anwanwadeɛ ahodoɔ pii.
By the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. They were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 Ɛwom sɛ na nnipa a wɔnka wɔn ho no di wɔn ho adanseɛ pa de, nanso wɔn mu biara antumi amfa wɔn ho ankɔbɔ asomafoɔ no ho.
None of the rest dared to join them, however the people honored them.
14 Akyire no, nnipa dodoɔ a wɔgyee Awurade diiɛ no bɛkaa agyidifoɔ no ho.
More believers were added to the Lord, crowds of both men and women.
15 Esiane anwanwadeɛ a na asomafoɔ no reyɛ no enti, wɔsoaa ayarefoɔ baa mmɔntene so de wɔn totoo mpa ne kɛtɛ so sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, Petro sunsum bɛtɔ wɔn mu bi so kɛkɛ.
They even carried out the sick into the streets, and put them on cots and mats, so that as Peter came by at the least his shadow would fall on some of them.
16 Nkurɔfoɔ a wɔfifiri nkuro a atwa Yerusalem ho ahyia no de wɔn ayarefoɔ ne wɔn a ahonhommɔne wɔ wɔn mu no baeɛ na wɔsaa wɔn nyinaa yadeɛ.
Crowds also came together from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick people, and those who were tormented by unclean spirits: and they were all healed.
17 Ɔsɔfopanin ne nʼahokafoɔ ne Sadukifoɔ no ani beree asomafoɔ no so yie enti wɔyɛɛ adwene sɛ wɔbɛtwe wɔn aso.
But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,
18 Ɛno enti, wɔkyeree asomafoɔ no de wɔn kɔguu afiase.
and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in public custody.
19 Ɛda no ara anadwo, Awurade ɔbɔfoɔ bɛbuee afiase apono no dii asomafoɔ no anim ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ,
But an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors by night, and brought them out, and said,
20 “Monkɔ asɔredan mu nkɔka nkwa foforɔ yi ho asɛm nkyerɛ nnipa no.”
"Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life."
21 Asomafoɔ no dii asɛm a ɔbɔfoɔ no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn no so; enti, anɔpahema no wɔkɔɔ asɔredan mu hɔ hyɛɛ aseɛ kyerɛkyerɛeɛ. Ɔsɔfopanin no ne nʼahokafoɔ no frɛɛ Yudafoɔ mpanin maa wɔyɛɛ nhyiamu kɛseɛ bi; afei, wɔsoma maa wɔkɔɔ afiase hɔ sɛ wɔnkɔfa asomafoɔ no mmra wɔn anim.
When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and those who were with him, and called the council together, and all the elders of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
22 Nanso, ɛberɛ a nnipa no duruu afiase hɔ no, wɔanhunu asomafoɔ no; enti wɔsane ba bɛbɔɔ wɔn amaneɛ sɛ,
But the officers who came did not find them in the prison. They returned and reported,
23 “Ɛberɛ a yɛduruu afiase hɔ no, yɛhunuu sɛ wɔatoto afiase apono no nyinaa mu petee a awɛmfoɔ no gyinagyina ano. Nanso, yɛbuebuee apono no no, yɛanhunu obiara wɔ mu.”
"We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside."
24 Ɛberɛ a ɔpanin a ɔhwɛ asɔredan mu awɛmfoɔ no so ne asɔfoɔ mpanin no tee saa asɛm yi no, wɔn adwene mu yɛɛ wɔn nnaa, ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔnhunu asɛm a asi.
Now when the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.
25 Ankyɛre koraa na ɔbarima bi baa hɔ bɛka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Nnipa a mode wɔn guu afiase no gyinagyina asɔredan no mu rekyerɛkyerɛ nnipa no.”
One came and told them, "Look, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people."
26 Awɛmfoɔ no so panin no tee asɛm yi no, ɔne ne nkurɔfoɔ no kɔkyeree asomafoɔ no de wɔn baeɛ. Awɛmfoɔ no so panin no ne awɛmfoɔ no amfa asomafoɔ no amma ɔhyɛ so, ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔnim sɛ, sɛ wɔyɛ saa a, nnipa no bɛsi wɔn aboɔ.
Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.
27 Wɔde asomafoɔ no bɛgyinaa agyinatufoɔ no anim maa Ɔsɔfopanin no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ,
When they had brought them, they set them before the council. The high priest questioned them,
28 “Yɛhyɛɛ mo sɛ monnkyerɛkyerɛ wɔ Yesu din mu, nanso moantie. Mode mo nkyerɛkyerɛ yi afa Yerusalem baabiara, na mopɛ sɛ mokyerɛ sɛ, yɛn na yɛkumm saa ɔbarima no!”
saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood on us."
29 Petro ne asomafoɔ a wɔka ne ho no buaa wɔn sɛ, “Ɛsɛ sɛ yɛtie Onyankopɔn na ɛnyɛ nnipa,
But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than people.
30 ɛfiri sɛ, mobɔɔ Yesu asɛnnua mu, kumm no no, yɛn agyanom Onyankopɔn nyanee no firii owuo mu.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree.
31 Onyankopɔn hyɛɛ no animuonyam de no tenaa ne nsa nifa so sɛ Ɔhene ne Agyenkwa a ɛnam so bɛma Israelfoɔ asakyera wɔn adwene na wɔde wɔn bɔne akyɛ wɔn.
God exalted him with his right hand to be a Leader and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 Yɛne Honhom Kronkron a ɛyɛ akyɛdeɛ a Awurade de ma wɔn a wɔtie no no di yei ho adanseɛ.”
We are witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."
33 Agyinatufoɔ no tee saa asɛm yi no, wɔn bo fuiɛ na wɔkaa sɛ wɔbɛkum asomafoɔ no.
But they, when they heard this, were furious, and wanted to kill them.
34 Nanso, wɔn mu baako a wɔfrɛ no Gamaliel a ɔyɛ Farisini na ɔsane yɛ Atwerɛsɛm no ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ a na nnipa bu no no, sɔre gyina hyɛɛ sɛ wɔmfa asomafoɔ no mfiri adi.
But one stood up in the council, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law, honored by all the people, and commanded to put the men out for a little while.
35 Afei, ɔkasa kyerɛɛ agyinatufoɔ no sɛ, “Me nuanom Israel mmarima, monnwene deɛ mopɛ sɛ moyɛ saa nnipa yi no ho yie.
He said to them, "You men of Israel, be careful concerning these men, what you are about to do.
36 Ɛnkyɛree biara na ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Teuda sɔre, kaa sɛ ɔyɛ onipa titire bi maa nnipa bɛyɛ ahanan tu dii nʼakyi. Nanso, wɔkumm no ma nʼakyidifoɔ no nyinaa bɔ hweteeɛ.
For before these days Todah rose up, making himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nothing.
37 Nʼakyi no, Yuda a ɔfiri Galilea nso sɔree nnipakanberɛ no mu. Ɔno nso nnipa pii dii nʼakyi. Saa ara na ɔno nso wɔkumm no ma nʼakyidifoɔ no bɔ hweteeɛ.
After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the enrollment, and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
38 Ɛno enti metu mo fo sɛ, monnyaa saa nnipa yi ma wɔnkɔ wɔn baabi. Sɛ wɔn nkyerɛkyerɛ ne wɔn nnwuma yi firi onipa a, ɛbɛgu.
Now I tell you, withdraw from these men, and leave them alone. For if this counsel or this work is of human origin, it will be overthrown.
39 Nanso, sɛ ɛfiri Onyankopɔn a morentumi nsi wɔn kwan. Mobɛhunu sɛ moreko atia Onyankopɔn.”
But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them, and you would be found even to be fighting against God."
40 Agyinatufoɔ no tiee Gamaliel afotuo no. Wɔmaa wɔde asomafoɔ no baeɛ maa wɔbɔɔ wɔn mmaa hyɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔmmmɔ Yesu din mfa nkyerɛkyerɛ bio. Afei wɔgyaa wɔn.
They agreed with him. Summoning the apostles, they beat them and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 Esiane sɛ asomafoɔ no hunuu sɛ ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn pɛ sɛ ɛsɛ sɛ wɔhunu amane wɔ Yesu din mu no enti, wɔde anigyeɛ na wɔfirii asɛnniiɛ hɔ.
They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.
42 Wɔannyae Yesu Kristo ho asɛm pa no ka ne nkyerɛkyerɛ wɔ asɔrefie ne afie mu da.
Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming that Jesus is the Christ.
