< 3 Yohane 1 >
1 Me, Asɔre panin, Meretwerɛ akɔma me dɔfo pa Gaio.
The elder to Gaius the beloved, whom I love in truth.
2 Mʼadamfo pa, mebɔ mpaeɛ sɛ biribiara nkɔ so yie mma wo, na nya ahoɔden sɛdeɛ menim sɛ honhom fa mu no, wowɔ ahoɔden no.
Beloved, in all things I pray that thou mayst prosper and be in health, as thy soul prospereth.
3 Anuanom bi baa ha bɛka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, woanya nokorɛ no mu gyidie no, na woda so kura nokorɛ no mu no, ɛyɛɛ me anigye yie.
For I rejoiced greatly, when brethren came and bore witness to thy truth, as thou walkest in truth.
4 Biribiara nyɛ me anigye nkyɛn sɛ mɛte sɛ me mma no te nokorɛ mu.
I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children walk in the truth.
5 Mʼadamfo pa, wodi nokorɛ yie wɔ adwuma a woyɛ ma anuanom no a ɛmfa ho sɛ wɔyɛ ahɔhoɔ mpo.
Beloved, thou doest a faithful thing whatever thou doest to the brethren, and that to strangers,
6 Wɔaka ɔdɔ a wodɔ asafo a ɛwɔ hɔ no ho asɛm. Mesrɛ wo, boa wɔn wɔn akwantuo no mu ma ɛnsɔ Onyankopɔn ani.
who bore witness of thy love before the church; whom if thou send forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, thou wilt do well.
7 Ɛfiri sɛ, wɔn kwan a wɔretu no, wɔretu wɔ Awurade din mu a wɔmpɛ mmoa biara mfiri wɔn a wɔnyɛ agyidifoɔ no nkyɛn.
For in behalf of the Name they went forth, taking nothing of the gentiles.
8 Yɛn Akristofoɔ na ɛsɛ sɛ yɛboa saa nnipa no sɛdeɛ yɛne wɔn bɛyɛ nokorɛ no ho adwuma.
We therefore ought to sustain such persons, that we may be fellow-workers for the truth.
9 Metwerɛɛ krataa tiawa bi kɔmaa asafo no, nanso Diotrefe a nʼani gye sɛ ɔyɛ wɔn panin no rentie deɛ meka no.
I wrote something to the church; but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the pre-eminence among them, receiveth us not.
10 Sɛ meba a, biribiara a wayɛ no, mede ho asɛm bɛto mo anim. Nsɛm a ɛyɛ hu a ɔka fa yɛn ho ne atorɔ a ɔtwa nyinaa, mɛka ho asɛm. Nanso, ɛno nko ara nyɛ mma no. Sɛ anuanom afoforɔ ba a, ɔnnye wɔn, na obiara a ɔpɛ sɛ ɔgye wɔn no nso, ɔsi wɔn kwan na wabɔ mmɔden apam wɔn afiri asafo no mu.
Wherefore, if I come, I will bring to remembrance his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words; and not content therewith, he himself doth not receive the brethren, and those that would he forbiddeth, and casteth them out of the church.
11 Mʼadamfo pa, monnsua ade bɔne, na mmom, monsua ade pa. Obiara a ɔyɛ papa no yɛ Onyankopɔn dea. Na obiara a ɔyɛ bɔne no nhunuu Onyankopɔn.
Beloved, do not imitate that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God; he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
12 Obiara ka Demetrio ho asɛm pa, na mpo nokorɛ no ankasa ka ne ho asɛm pa. Na yɛn nso yɛdi ne ho adanseɛ pa na monim sɛ deɛ yɛka no yɛ nokorɛ.
To Demetrius testimony hath been borne by all, and by the truth itself; yea, we also bear witness, and ye know that our witness is true.
13 Mewɔ nsɛm bebree ka kyerɛ mo, nanso meremfa krataa ne twerɛdua so nka.
I had many things to write to thee, but I do not wish to write to thee with ink and pen;
14 Ɛrenkyɛre biara mɛhunu mo na me ne mo akasa. Asomdwoeɛ nka mo. Mo nnamfonom nyinaa kyeakyea mo. Kyeakyea yɛn nnamfonom nyinaa.
but I hope to see thee immediately, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. The friends salute thee. Salute the friends by name.
