< 2 Samuel 22 >

1 Ɛberɛ a Awurade gyee Dawid firii nʼatamfoɔ nyinaa ne Saulo nsam akyi no, ɔtoo saa dwom yi de yii Awurade ayɛ.
And David spake unto Yahweh, the words of this song, in the day when Yahweh had rescued him, out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul;
2 Nsɛm a ɛwɔ dwom no mu nie: “Awurade yɛ me botan, mʼaban ne mʼagyenkwa;
and he said, —Yahweh, was my mountain crag and my stronghold, and my deliverer—mine;
3 me Onyankopɔn yɛ me botan; ne mu na menya banbɔ. Ɔyɛ me kyɛm, me nkwagyeɛ mu ahoɔden ne me banbɔeɛ, mʼabantenten, mʼagyenkwa, deɛ ɔgye me firi basabasayɛ mu.
My God, was my rock, I sought refuge in him, —My shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, My Saviour! from violence, thou didst save me.
4 “Mesu frɛ Awurade; ɔno na ayɛyie sɛ no, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔgye me firi mʼatamfoɔ nsam.
As one worthy to be praised, called I on Yahweh, —And, from my foes, was I saved.
5 Owuo asorɔkye twaa me ho hyiaeɛ; ɔsɛeɛ yiri faa me so.
When the breakers of death had encompassed me, —the torrents of perdition, made me afraid, —
6 Damena nhoma kyekyeree me; owuo ankasa too me anihaa. (Sheol h7585)
the meshes of hades, had surrounded me, —the snares of death had confronted me, (Sheol h7585)
7 “Na mʼamanehunu mu no, mesu mefrɛɛ Awurade. Aane, mefrɛɛ me Onyankopɔn pɛɛ mmoa. Ɔtee me nne firii ne kronkronbea. Me sufrɛ duruu nʼasom.
In my distress, called I on Yahweh, Yea, unto my God, did I call, —and he hearkened, out of his temple, unto my voice, and, my cry for help, was in his ears!
8 Na asase wosoeɛ na ɛhinhimeɛ; ɔsoro fapem wosoeɛ; wɔwosoeɛ, nʼabufuo enti.
Then did the earth shake and quake, the foundations of the heavens, were deeply moved, —yea they did shake, because he was angry,
9 Wisie firii ne hwene mu; ogyaframa firii nʼanom; na egyasramma dɛre firii mu.
There went up a smoke in his nostrils, and, a fire out of his mouth, devoured, —live coals, were kindled from it:
10 Ɔfirii ɔsoro baa fam; na omununkum kabii duruu ne nan ase.
Then he stretched out the heavens, and came down, —and, thick gloom, was under his feet;
11 Ɔte Kerubim so tuiɛ; gyaagyaa ne ho wɔ mframa ntaban so.
Then he rode on a cherub, and flew, —and was seen on the wings of the wind;
12 Ɔde sum kataa ne ho hyiaeɛ, ɔde osuo omununkum dii nʼanim ɛkan.
And made of the darkness around him, pavilions, —gathering of waters, clouds of vapours.
13 Hann kɛseɛ hyerɛn wɔ nʼanim, na anyinam pa firi mu.
Out of the brightness before him, were kindled live coals of fire;
14 Awurade bobɔɔ mu firi soro; Ɔsorosoroni no teaam denden.
Thunder from the heavens, did Yahweh give forth, —yea, the Highest, uttered his voice;
15 Ɔtoo nʼagyan maa nʼatamfoɔ hweteeɛ; anyinam dwaeɛ ma wɔyɛɛ basaa.
And he sent forth arrows, and scattered them, —lightning, and confused them;
16 Awurade kasaeɛ, na ewiase nnyinasoɔ no nyinaa daa hɔ. Wɔtumi hunuu ɛpo ase, na asase fapem ho daa hɔ.
Then appeared the channels of the sea, were uncovered the foundations of the world, —at the rebuke of Yahweh, the blast of the breath of his nostrils;
17 “Ɔfiri ɔsoro baa ɛfam bɛsɔɔ me mu; ɔtwee me firii nsuo a emu dɔ mu.
He sent from on high, he took me, —he drew me out of many waters;
18 Ɔgyee me firii mʼatamfoɔ a wɔyɛ den nsam, atamfoɔ a wɔkyiri me na wɔn ho yɛ den pa ara ma me.
He rescued me from my foe, in his might, —from them who hated me, because they were too strong for me:
19 Wɔbaa me so wɔ mʼamanehunu da mu, nanso Awurade pagyaa me.
They confronted me, in the day of my necessity, —then became Yahweh my stay:
20 Ɔde me baa baabi a banbɔ wɔ; ɔgyee me, ɛfiri sɛ, nʼani ku me ho.
And brought out, into a large place, even me, —he delivered me, because he delighted in me:
21 “Awurade ne me adi no sɛdeɛ me tenenee teɛ; wahwɛ me nsa a ɛho teɛ so atua me ka.
Yahweh rewarded me, according to my righteousness—according to the cleanness of my hands, he repaid me:
22 Ɛfiri sɛ, manante Awurade akwan so; Mentwee me ho mfirii me Onyankopɔn ho nkɔyɛɛ bɔne.
For I had kept the ways of Yahweh, —and not broken away from my God;
23 Ne mmara nyinaa gu mʼanim; mentwee me ho mfirii ne nhyehyɛeɛ ho.
For, all his regulations, were before me, —and, as for his statutes, I turned not from them.
24 Me ho nni asɛm wɔ Onyankopɔn anim; matwe me ho afiri bɔne ho.
So became I blameless towards him, —and kept myself from mine iniquity:
25 Awurade tuaa me papayɛ so ka, ɛfiri sɛ menni fɔ wɔ nʼanim.
Yahweh therefore repaid me, according to my righteousness, —according to my pureness before his eyes.
26 “Woda wo ho adi sɛ ɔnokwafoɔ kyerɛ wɔn a wɔdi nokorɛ, wɔn a wɔdi mu nso wo kyerɛ wɔn sɛ wodi mu.
With the loving, thou didst show thyself loving, —with the blameless hero, thou didst show thyself blameless;
27 Woyi wo kronkronyɛ kyerɛ ɔkronkronni, nanso amumuyɛfoɔ deɛ wokyiri wɔn.
With the pure, thou didst show thyself pure, —but, with the perverse, thou didst shew thyself ready to contend:
28 Wogye ahobrɛasefoɔ, nanso wʼani kɔ ahantanfoɔ so sɛ wobɛbrɛ wɔn ase.
And, a patient people, thou didst save, —but, thine eyes, were on the lofty—thou layedst them low;
29 Ao Awurade, woyɛ me kanea. Aane, Awurade woma me sum dane hann.
For, thou, wast my lamp, O Yahweh, —and, Yahweh, enlightened my darkness;
30 Wʼahoɔden a wode ma me enti, metumi ka akodɔm gu; me Onyankopɔn enti, metumi foro ɔfasuo.
For, by thee, I ran through a troop, —by my God, I leapt over a wall.
31 “Onyankopɔn deɛ, nʼakwan yɛ pɛ; Awurade bɔhyɛ nyinaa ba mu. Ɔyɛ akokyɛm ma wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ banbɔ wɔ ne mu.
As for God, blameless is his way, —the speech of Yahweh, hath been proved, a shield, he is to all who seek refuge in him.
32 Hwan ne Onyankopɔn, gye sɛ Awurade? Hwan ne ɔbotantim no, gye sɛ yɛn Onyankopɔn?
For who is a GOD, save Yahweh? and who a Rock, save our God?
33 Onyankopɔn ne mʼaban a ɛyɛ den; wagye me, na wama me kwan so ayɛ pɛ.
GOD, is my fortress of strength, —and shewed to the blameless his way;
34 Ɔma mʼanammɔn ho yɛ hare sɛ ɔforoteɛ deɛ; Ɔma me gyina sorɔnsorɔmmea.
Planting my feet like the hinds’, —yea, on my high places, he caused me to stand;
35 Ɔsiesie me ma ɔko; na mʼabasa tumi kuntunu kɔbere mfrafraeɛ tadua.
Teaching my hands, to war, —so that a bow of bronze was bent by mine arms;
36 Woama me wo nkwagyeɛ kyɛm. Wo mmoa ama mayɛ ɔkɛseɛ.
Thus didst thou grant me, as a shield, thy salvation, —and, thy condescension, made me great.
37 Woabɔ ɛkwan tɛtrɛɛ ama me nan sɛdeɛ ɛrenwatiri.
Thou didst widen my stepping-places, under me, —so that mine ankles faltered not:
38 “Metaa mʼatamfoɔ so sɛee wɔn; mannyina kɔsii sɛ wɔdii nkoguo.
I pursued my foes, and destroyed them, —and returned not, till they were consumed;
39 Meyamoo wɔn, mebɔɔ wɔn hwee fam, na wɔantumi ansɔre; wɔhwehwee ase wɔ me nan ase.
So I consumed them, and crushed them, and they rose not again, —thus fell they under my feet:
40 Wohyɛɛ me ahoɔden maa ɔko; woaka mʼatamfoɔ ahyɛ me nan ase.
Thus didst thou gird me with strength, for the battle, —thou subduedst mine assailants under me:
41 Womaa wɔdanee wɔn ani dwaneeɛ, na mesɛe wɔn a wɔtan me nyinaa.
And, as for my foes, thou didst give me their neck, —yea, them who hated me, that I might destroy them:
42 Wɔsu pɛɛ mmoa, nanso obiara ammɛgye wɔn. Wɔsu frɛɛ Awurade, nanso wannye wɔn so.
They cried out, but there was none to save, —unto Yahweh, but he answered them not.
43 Meyamoo wɔn ma wɔyɛɛ sɛ asase so mfuturo; mepraa wɔn guu nsuka mu sɛ wira.
Then did I beat them in pieces, like the dust of the earth, —like the clay of the lanes, did I crush them, stamp them down.
44 “Womaa me nkonimdie wɔ wɔn a wɔbɔ me kwaadu so. Woahwɛ sɛ mɛyɛ amanaman sodifoɔ; na nnipa a mennim wɔn som me.
Thus didst thou rescue me from the contentions of my people, didst keep me to be the head of nations: —a people whom I had not known, served me;
45 Ananafoɔ brɛ wɔn ho ase ma me; wɔte me nka pɛ ara a, wɔde wɔn ho ma me.
The sons of the foreigner, came cringing unto me, —at the hearing of the ear, they submitted to me, —
46 Wɔn nyinaa bɔ huboa, na wɔde ahopopoɔ firi wɔn nsraban mu ba.
The sons of the foreigner, were disheartened, and came quaking, out of their fortresses.
47 “Awurade te ase! Ayɛyi nka me botan, ma wɔmma Onyankopɔn, me nkwagyeɛ botan so.
Yahweh liveth, and blessed be my rock, —and exalted be the God (of the rock) of my salvation: —
48 Ɔno ne Onyankopɔn a ɔtɔ wɔn a wɔha me so awere; ɔka amanaman no hyɛ mʼase
The GOD who hath avenged me, and brought down peoples under me;
49 na ɔgye me firi mʼatamfoɔ nsam. Wode me si baabi a mʼatamfoɔ nnuru, wogye me firi atutupɛfoɔ a wɔtia me nsam.
And brought me forth from among my foes, —yea, from mine assailants, hast thou set me on high, from the man of violence, hast thou delivered me.
50 Ao Awurade yei enti, mɛkamfo wo wɔ amanaman mu nyinaa; na mɛto ayɛyie nnwom ama wo edin.
For this cause, will I praise thee, O Yahweh, among the nations, —and, to thy name, will I touch the strings: —
51 “Wode nkonimdie akɛseɛ ama wo ɔhene; woda ɔdɔ a ɛnsa da adi kyerɛ deɛ woasra no ngo, wode kyerɛ Dawid, ne nʼasefoɔ afebɔɔ.”
Who hath made great the victories of his King, —and shown lovingkindness to his Anointed One, to David and to his Seed, unto times age-abiding.
