2 Samuel 21
1 Dawid ahennie so no, ɛkɔm baa asase no so mfeɛ mmiɛnsa, enti Dawid bisaa Awurade ɛkɔm no ho asɛm. Na Awurade kaa sɛ, “Esiane ɛfɔ a Saulo ne ne fiefoɔ di wɔ kunkum a wɔkunkumm Gibeonfoɔ no ho enti na ɛkɔm saa aba no.”
Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, [It is] for Saul, and for [his] bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
2 Enti, ɔhene Dawid frɛɛ Gibeonfoɔ no nyinaa. Na wɔnka Israelfoɔ no ho, na mmom, wɔyɛ Amorifoɔ nkaeɛfoɔ bi. Israel kaa ntam sɛ, wɔrenkum wɔn, nanso ɛsiane Saulo ahopereɛ enti, ɔpɛɛ sɛ ɔtɔre wɔn ase.
And the king called the Gibeonites, and said to them; (now the Gibeonites [were] not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn to them: and Saul sought to slay them, in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
3 Dawid bisaa Gibeonfoɔ no sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn na mɛtumi ayɛ de apata mo? Monka, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a Awurade bɛhyira ne nkurɔfoɔ bio.”
Wherefore David said to the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and with what shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
4 Gibeonfoɔ no buaa sɛ, “Anokwa, sika rentumi, na yɛmpɛ nso sɛ wɔbɛkunkum Israelfoɔ aweretɔ so.” Enti, Dawid kɔɔ so bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Enti, ɛdeɛn na menyɛ? Monka nkyerɛ me, na mɛyɛ ama mo.”
And the Gibeonites said to him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, [that] will I do for you.
5 Na wɔbuaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ Saulo na ɔdwenee ho sɛ ɔbɛsɛe yɛn, sɛdeɛ yɛrennya afa biara wɔ Israel.
And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us [that] we should be destroyed from remaining within the borders of Israel,
6 Enti, wɔnyi Saulo mmammarima anaa ne nananom mmarima baason mma yɛn, na yɛbɛkum wɔn wɔ Awurade anim wɔ Gibea bepɔ no so.” Ɔhene no kaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ. Mɛyɛ.”
Let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, [whom] the LORD chose. And the king said, I will give [them].
7 Dawid gyaee Yonatan babarima Mefiboset a na ɔyɛ Saulo nana no, ɛsiane ntam a na Dawid ne Yonatan aka wɔ Awurade anim no enti.
But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the LORD'S oath that [was] between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 Nanso, ɔde Saulo mmammarima baanu a na wɔn edin de Armoni ne Mefiboset a na wɔn maame Rispa no yɛ Aia babaa maa wɔn. Ɔsane de Saulo babaa Mikal a na ɔyɛ Adriel a na ɔyɛ Barsilai a ɔfiri Mehola no yere mmammarima baanum no maeɛ.
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
9 Na Gibeon mmarima no kunkumm wɔn wɔ bepɔ no so wɔ Awurade anim. Enti, nnipa baason no nyinaa, wɔkunkumm wɔn wɔ ɛberɛ a wɔrefiri atokotwa afahyɛ no ase no.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them on the hill before the LORD: and they fell [all] seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first [days], in the beginning of barley harvest.
10 Rispa a ɔyɛ mmarima no mu baanu maame no de ayitoma sɛɛ ɔbotan bi so, tenaa hɔ otwaberɛ no nyinaa mu. Wamma apete ammɛtete wɔn amu no awiaberɛ mu, na anadwo nso, ɔsii nkekaboa ho kwan.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
11 Ɛberɛ a Dawid tee deɛ Rispa a na ɔyɛ Saulo mpena no ayɛ no,
And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah the concubine of Saul had done.
12 ɔkɔɔ nkurɔfoɔ a wɔfiri Yabes Gilead nkyɛn, kɔbisaa wɔn Saulo ne ne babarima Yonatan nnompe ase. (Ɛberɛ a Saulo ne Yonatan totɔɔ ɔko a wɔne Filistifoɔ koeɛ no ano no, Yabes Gileadfoɔ na wɔkɔtasee wɔn amu Filistifoɔ kuro Bet-San abɔntene so.)
And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
13 Enti, Dawid de Saulo ne Yonatan nnompe baeɛ. Saa ara na ɔde mmarima a Gibeonfoɔ kunkumm wɔn no nnompe baeɛ.
And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
14 Ɔsiee wɔn nyinaa wɔ Saulo agya Kis ɔboda a ɛwɔ kuro Sela a ɛwɔ Benyamin asase so no mu. Ɛno akyi, Onyankopɔn twaa ɛkɔm no so wɔ Israel asase so.
And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son they buried in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulcher of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.
15 Bio, Filistifoɔ ne Israel koeɛ. Na ɛberɛ a ɔko no duruu ne mpɔmpɔnsoɔ no, Dawid tɔɔ baha.
Moreover, the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David became faint.
16 Na Yisbi-Benob yɛ abrane no asefoɔ mu baako. Na ne pea mu duru kari boro kilogram mmiɛnsa ne fa, a wɔde akofena foforɔ ahyehyɛ ne ho. Na waka Dawid ahyɛ a anka ɔrebɛkum no.
And Ishbi-benob, who [was] of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight, he being girded with a new [sword], thought to have slain David.
17 Nanso, Seruia babarima Abisai bɛgyee Dawid, na ɔkumm Filistini no. Ɛno akyi, Dawid mmarima no kaa ntam sɛ, “Wo ne yɛn renkɔ ɔko bio. Anyɛ saa a, Israel kanea bɛdum.”
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succored him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, Thou shalt go out no more with us to battle, that thou mayest not extinguish the light of Israel.

And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, who [was] of the sons of the giant.
19 Ɔko foforɔ bi a wɔkoo wɔ Gob no nso, Yair babarima Elhanan a ɔfiri Betlehem kumm Gatni Goliat nuabarima bi. Na ne pea nsa mu duru bɛyɛ sɛ ntomanwomfoɔ nsadua.
And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Beth-lehemite, slew [the brother of] Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver's beam.
20 Ɔko bi a ɛsii bio wɔ Gat nso, ɔbarima tetetuo bi a na ɔyɛ nsansia ne nansia a ɔyɛ abrane no aseni no
And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
21 pɛɛ sɛ ɔbu fa Israel so, gu nʼanim ase. Ɔno nso, Dawid nua Simea babarima Yonatan na ɔkumm no.
And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.
22 Saa Filistifoɔ abrane baanan yi yɛ Gat abrane no asefoɔ. Na Dawid ne nʼakofoɔ na wɔkunkumm wɔn nyinaa.
These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
