< 2 Petro 2 >
1 Atorɔ adiyifoɔ kɔɔ tetefoɔ no mu, na saa ara nso na atorɔ adiyifoɔ bɛba mo mu ara ne no. Wɔbɛkyerɛ nkyerɛkyerɛ bɔne a nokorɛ nni mu na wɔapa Owura a ɔgyee wɔn no, na ɛnam so ama ɔsɛeɛ aba wɔn so prɛko pɛ.
But there were false prophets, too, among the people, just as among you also there will be false teachers. These will secretly bring in destructive sects, denying even the Master who bought them, and bringing swift ruin upon themselves.
2 Nnipa bebree bɛfa akwammɔne so na ɛsiane deɛ wɔyɛ no enti, nnipa bɛkasa atia nokorɛ ɛkwan no.
Then there will be many who will follow their immorality, because of whom the Way of the Truth will be maligned.
3 Saa atorɔ adiyifoɔ yi nam wɔn sikanibereɛ so bɛto anansesɛm akyerɛ mo de apɛ mo ho mfasoɔ. Wɔn ɔtemmufoɔ siesiee ne ho akyɛre, na saa ara nso na wɔn ɔsɛefoɔ no nso asɔre agyina.
In their covetousness, with cunning words, they will make merchandise of you; those whose doom has not been idle from of old, and whose destruction has not been slumbering.
4 Onyankopɔn amfa abɔfoɔ a wɔyɛɛ bɔne no ho ankyɛre wɔn. Ɔtoo wɔn guu asaman sum mu baabi guu wɔn nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn, na ɛhɔ na wɔretwɛn Atemmuo da no. (Tartaroō )
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and committed them to chains of darkness, and reserved them for judgment; (Tartaroō )
5 Onyankopɔn amma tete ewiase no amfa ne ho anni. Ɔmaa nsuyire baa wɔn a wɔannye asɛm no anni no so. Wɔn a ɔgyee wɔn nkwa no ne Noa a ɔkaa tenenee ho asɛm no ne nnipa baason bi.
if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon an ungodly world;
6 Onyankopɔn buu Sodom ne Gomora fɔ de ogya sɛee wɔn, de bɔɔ wɔn a wɔnnye Onyankopɔn nni no kɔkɔ.
if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and reduced them to ashes, thus holding them up as a warning to all who would live ungodly;
7 Ɔgyee Lot a ɔyɛ ɔteneneeni no firii nnipa nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nsam.
and he delivered righteous Lot who was worn out by the lascivious life of the wicked
8 Na saa ɔteneneeni no te saa nnipa nnebɔneyɛfoɔ no mu na afideɛ a na saa nnipa no yɛ no adekyeeɛ ne adesaeɛ no ha no yie.
(for that righteous man, living among them, tormented his righteous soul in seeing and hearing, day after day, their lawless deeds),
9 Yei kyerɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn nim ɛkwan a ɔfa so gye nʼakyidifoɔ firi ɔhaw mu, ɛnna ɔnim ɛkwan a ɔfa so kora nnipa nnebɔneyɛfoɔ, twe wɔn aso de twɛn Atemmuo da no,
then be sure that the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the wicked (who are even now enduring punishment) for the "Day of Judgment";
10 ne titire no, wɔn a wɔdi wɔn honam akɔnnɔ akyi na wɔpa Onyankopɔn tumi no. Saa atorɔ akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ yi wɔ akokoɔduru na wɔmmu animuonyamfoɔ a wɔwɔ ɔsoro no, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔte wɔn atua.
especially those who spend their lives following the flesh in the lust of defilement, and in despising all authority. Audacious and wilful, they feel no awe in railing against dignities;
11 Na abɔfoɔ a wɔwɔ ahoɔden ne tumi sene saa atorɔ akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ yi mpo nka nsɛmmɔne mmu wɔn atɛn wɔ Awurade anim.
even where angels, though surpassing them in strength and might, do not bring a railing judgment against them before the Lord.
12 Nanso, saa nnipa yi yɛ wɔn nneɛma te sɛ mmoa a wonni adwene, wɔwo wɔn sɛ wɔnkye wɔn nku wɔn. Wɔgu nneɛma biara a wɔnte aseɛ no ho fi. Wɔbɛsɛe wɔn sɛ mmoa.
But these men, like irrational creatures, mere animals, born to be taken and destroyed, continually rail about matters of which they know nothing. In their corruption they will surely be destroyed,
13 Ɔhaw a wɔma ɛbaeɛ no, wɔbɛtua wɔn so ka. Deɛ wɔn ani gye ho ne sɛ wɔbɛyɛ biribiara awia ketee a ɛbɛyɛ ama wɔn honam akɔnnɔ. Sɛ wɔne mo to nsa didi a, ɛgu wɔn anim ase. Ɛfiri sɛ, saa ɛberɛ no na wɔka nnaadaasɛm.
suffering wrong as the wage of wrong which they have done. These are men who count it pleasure to carouse in open daylight; they are spots and blemishes reveling in their deceit, even while they are feasting with you.
14 Wɔnhwehwɛ hwee sɛ mmaa adwamanfoɔ ɛfiri sɛ, wɔpɛ sɛ daa wɔyɛ bɔne. Wɔdaadaa nnipa a wɔyɛ mmerɛ kɔ bɔne mu. Wɔayɛn wɔn akoma ama anibereɛ. Wɔwɔ Onyankopɔn nnome ase.
They have eyes full of harlots, eyes that cannot stop sinning. They entice unsteady souls. Their heart is trained in greed. They are an accursed generation.
15 Wɔamane afiri ɛkwan tee no so enti wɔayera. Wɔafa ɛkwan a Beor ba Bileam a ne sika a ɔnya de yɛ bɔne no kɔfaa so no so.
They have forsaken the right way; they have lost their way, and followed the road of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrong-doing.
16 Yei maa wɔkaa nʼanim wɔ ne bɔne no ho. Nʼafunumu de onipa nne kasaeɛ de sii odiyifoɔ no abɔdamsɛm no ho ɛkwan.
He was, however, rebuked for his own transgression; a dumb ass spoke with a man’s voice, and stopped the madness of the prophet.
17 Saa nnipa yi te sɛ asutire a awe anaasɛ omununkum a mframa bɔ no. Onyankopɔn de wɔn asie esum kabii mu wɔ baabi. ()
Such men are like waterless springs, or mists storm-driven; for them the blackness of darkness has been reserved.
18 Wɔka ahantansɛm ne nkwaseasɛm na wɔnam wɔn honam akɔnnɔ ho nnaadaa so twetwe wɔn a wɔatwe wɔn ho afiri nnebɔneyɛfoɔ ho.
For speaking great swelling words of vanity, they entangle, by their lasciviousness, in the lusts of the flesh, those who are just about to escape from the men that live in misconduct.
19 Wɔhyɛ wɔn ahofadie ho bɔ wɔ ɛberɛ a wɔn ankasa wɔyɛ bɔne nkoa ɛfiri sɛ, onipa yɛ akoa ma biribiara a ɛdi no so.
They promise them liberty, while they themselves are slaves of rottenness! (For indeed a man is the slave of anything which masters him.)
20 Na sɛ onipa sua yɛn Awurade ne yɛn Agyenkwa Yesu Kristo ho asɛm, na ɔnam so dwane firi ewiase yi mu akwammɔne so, na akyire no ɔkɔ bɔne mu bio ma ɔdane bɔne akoa a, ɛnneɛ ɛyɛ hu sene ne kane no.
For if, after having escaped the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, men are again entangled in them and overpowered, their last state is become worse than their first.
21 Sɛ wɔnnim Kristo koraa a, anka ɛyɛ ma wɔn sene sɛ wɔbɛsua ne ho nsɛm na afei wɔbɛdane wɔn akyi akyerɛ mmara Kronkron a wɔde maa wɔn no.
Indeed it would have been better for them not to have known the Way of Righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them.
22 Deɛ ɛbaa wɔn so no kyerɛ sɛ, saa ɛbɛ yi yɛ nokorɛ. “Ɔkraman sane kɔtafere ne fe ɛnna ɔprako a wɔadware no no nso kɔyantam wɔ atɛkyɛ mu.”
In their case it has happened according to the true proverb, The dog returns again to his own vomit, and The sow, after washing, to her wallowing in the mire.
