< 2 Ahemfo 8 >

And Elisaie spoke to the woman, whose son he [had] restored to life, saying, Arise, and go you and your house, and sojourn wherever you may sojourn: for the Lord has called for a famine upon the land; indeed it is come upon the land [for] seven years.
2 Enti, ɔbaa no yɛɛ sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn onipa no hyɛeɛ no. Ɔfaa ne fiefoɔ kɔtenaa Filistifoɔ asase so mfeɛ nson.
And the woman arose, and did according to the word of Elisaie, both she and her house; and they sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
3 Ɛkɔm no twaa mu no, ɔsane baa Israel asase so, kɔhunuu ɔhene no sɛ ɔregye ne fie ne nʼasase.
And it came to pass after the expiration of the seven years, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines to the city; and came to cry to the king for her house and for her lands.
4 Ɔbaa mu no, na ɔhene no ne Gehasi a ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn onipa no ɔsomfoɔ rekasa. Na ɔhene no rebisa sɛ: Ka nneɛma akɛseɛ a Elisa ayɛ no bi kyerɛ me.
And the king spoke to Giezi the servant of Elisaie the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray you, all the great things which Elisaie has done.
5 Saa ɛberɛ no ara na na Gehasi reka nyane a Elisa nyanee abarimaa bi no ho asɛm akyerɛ no. Ɛberɛ korɔ no ara mu, abarimaa no maame kɔɔ ɔhene no anim, kɔsrɛɛ ɔhene no fa nʼabisadeɛ no ho. Gehasi teaam sɛ, “Hwɛ, me wura! Ɔbaa no nie na ne babarima no nso nie—ɔno na Elisa nyanee no no!”
And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored to life the dead son, behold, the woman whose son Elisaie restored to life [came] crying to the king for her house and for her lands. And Giezi said, My lord, O king, this [is] the woman, and this [is] her son, whom Elisaie restored to life.
6 Ɔhene no bisaa ɔbaa no sɛ, “Ɛyɛ nokorɛ anaa?” Ɔbaa no buaa sɛ ɛyɛ ampa. Enti, ɔhene no ka kyerɛɛ ne mpanimfoɔ no mu baako sɛ ɔnhwɛ na biribiara a wahwere no, wɔmfa mma no. Nʼafudeɛ a wɔtwaeɛ a na ɔnni hɔ nyinaa, wɔde maa no.
And the king asked the woman, and she told him: and the king appointed her a eunuch, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field from the day that she left the land until now.
7 Na Elisa kɔɔ Damasko a ɛyɛ Aram kuropɔn no mu a na ɔhene Ben-Hadad yare da no. Obi ka kyerɛɛ ɔhene no sɛ, “Onyankopɔn onipa no aba hɔ,”
And Elisaie came to Damascus; and the king of Syria the son of Ader was ill, and they brought him word, saying, The man of God is come here.
8 ɛberɛ a ɔhene no tee saa asɛm no, ɔka kyerɛɛ Hasael sɛ, “Fa akyɛdeɛ kɔma Onyankopɔn onipa no. Na ka kyerɛ no, na ɔmmisa Awurade sɛ, ‘Me ho bɛtɔ me bio anaa?’”
And the king said to Azael, Take in your hand a present, and go to meet the man of God, and enquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this my disease?
9 Na Hasael hyehyɛɛ nyoma aduanan so nnepa a ɛfiri Damasko, sɛ akyɛdeɛ a ɔde rekɔma Elisa. Ɔkɔɔ ne nkyɛn ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Wo ɔsomfoɔ Ben-Hadad a ɔyɛ Aramhene asoma me wo nkyɛn sɛ, memmɛbisa sɛ ne ho bɛyɛ no den anaa.”
And Azael went to meet him, and he took a present in his hand, and all the good things of Damascus, forty camels' load, and came and stood before him, and said to Elisaie, Your son the son of Ader, the king of Syria, has sent me to you to enquire, saying, Shall I recover of this my disease?
10 Na Elisa ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Kɔ na kɔka kyerɛ no sɛ, ‘Wo ho bɛyɛ wo den.’ Nanso, Awurade ada no adi akyerɛ me sɛ, deɛ ɛbɛyɛ biara, ɔbɛwu.”
And Elisaie said, Go, say, You shall certainly live; yet the Lord has showed me that you shall surely die.
11 Elisa hwɛɛ Hasael anim, kɔsii sɛ Hasael yɛɛ basaa. Na Onyankopɔn onipa no hyɛɛ aseɛ suiɛ.
And he stood before him, and fixed [his countenance] till he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.
12 Hasael bisaa no sɛ, “Me wura, ɛyɛ ɛdeɛn asɛm? Elisa buaa sɛ, Menim nneɛma a ɛyɛ hu a wobɛyɛ Israelfoɔ. Wobɛhye wɔn nkuro a wɔabobɔ ho ban, akunkum wɔn mmeranteɛ, de wɔn mma nketewa adweradwera fam, apaapae apemfoɔ yafunu!”
And Azael said, Why does my lord weep? And he said, Because I know all the evil that you will do to the children of Israel: you will utterly destroy their strong holds with fire, and you will kill their choice men with the sword, and you will dash their infants [against the ground], and their women with child you will rip up.
13 Na Hasael buaa sɛ, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na me a mensɛ hwee yi, bɛtumi adi dwuma kɛseɛ a ɛte sɛɛ yi?” Nanso, Elisa buaa sɛ, “Awurade akyerɛ me sɛ, wo na wobɛyɛ Aramhene.”
And Azael said, Who is your servant? a dead dog, that he should do this thing? And Elisaie said, The Lord has shown me you ruling over Syria.
14 Ɛberɛ a Hasael sane kɔeɛ no, ɔhene no bisaa no sɛ, “Asɛm bɛn na Elisa ka kyerɛɛ wo?” Hasael buaa sɛ, “Ɔka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, deɛ ɛbɛyɛ biara, wo ho bɛyɛ wo den.”
And he departed from Elisaie, and went in to his lord; and he said to him, What said Elisaie to you? and he said, He said to me, You shall surely live.
15 Nanso, adeɛ kyeeɛ no, Hasael faa nnasoɔ, de nuu nsuo mu, de kataa ɔhene no anim, kɔsii sɛ ɔwuiɛ. Na Hasael sii nʼanan mu sɛ Aramhene.
And it came to pass on the next day that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and put it on his face, and he died: and Azael reigned in his stead.
16 Ɔhene Yehosafat babarima Yehoram bɛdii Yuda so ɛberɛ a ɔhene Yoram adi adeɛ wɔ Israel mfeɛ enum so. Na Yoram yɛ Ahab babarima.
In the fifth year of Joram son of Achaab king of Israel, and while Josaphat was king of Juda, Joram the son of Josaphat king of Juda began to reign.
17 Ɛberɛ a Yehoram dii ɔhene no, na wadi mfeɛ aduasa mmienu. Ɔdii adeɛ wɔ Yerusalem mfirinhyia nwɔtwe.
Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
18 Nanso, Yehoram yɛɛ sɛdeɛ Israel ahemfo yɛeɛ. Na ɔyɛ otirimuɔdenfoɔ te sɛ ɔhene Ahab, ɛfiri sɛ, na waware Ahab mmammaa no mu baako. Enti Yehoram yɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so.
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Achaab; for the daughter of Achaab was his wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.
19 Nanso, na Awurade mpɛ sɛ ɔsɛe Yuda, ɛfiri sɛ, na ɔne Dawid ayɛ apam, ahyɛ bɔ sɛ, nʼasefoɔ na wɔbɛkɔ so adi ɔman no so afebɔɔ.
But the Lord would not destroy Juda for David his servant's sake, as he said he would give a light to him and to his sons continually.
20 Yehoram berɛ so na Edomfoɔ sɔre tiaa Yuda, na wɔsii wɔn ankasa wɔn ɔhene.
In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Juda, and they made a king over themselves.
21 Enti, Yehoram faa ne nteaseɛnam nyinaa, kɔto hyɛɛ Sair kuro so. Edomfoɔ twaa ɔne ne nteaseɛnamkafoɔ ho hyiaeɛ, nanso ɔfaa anadwo sum no mu dwaneeɛ. Yehoram akodɔm nso gyaa no hɔ dwaneeɛ.
And Joram went up to Sior, and all the chariots that were with him: and it came to pass after he had arisen, that he struck Edom who compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled to their tents.
22 Edom ate Yuda so atua de bɛsi ɛnnɛ. Saa ɛberɛ no ara mu na Libna kuro nso sɔre tiaeɛ.
Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Juda till this day. Then Lobna revolted at that time.
23 Nsɛm a ɛsisii wɔ Yehoram ahennie mu ne deɛ ɔyɛeɛ nyinaa, wɔatwerɛ agu Yuda Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nwoma no mu.
And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?
24 Ɛberɛ a Yehoram wuiɛ no, wɔsiee no wɔ ne mpanimfoɔ nkyɛn wɔ Dawid kurom. Na ne babarima Ahasia na ɔdii nʼadeɛ sɛ ɔhene.
So Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of his father David: and Ochozias his son reigned in his stead.
25 Yehoram babarima Ahasia hyɛɛ aseɛ dii ɔhene Yuda wɔ ɔhene Yoram adedie wɔ Israel ne mfeɛ dumienu mu no mu. Na Ahab babarima ne ɔhene Yoram no.
In the twelfth year of Joram son of Achaab king of Israel, Ochozias son of Joram began to reign.
26 Ɛberɛ a Ahasia dii adeɛ no, na wadi mfeɛ aduonu mmienu, na ɔdii adeɛ wɔ Yerusalem afe. Ne maame ne Atalia a ɔyɛ Israelhene Omri nana.
Twenty and two years old [was] Ochozias when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem: and the name of his mother [was] Gotholia, daughter of Ambri king of Israel.
27 Ahasia dii amumuyɛsɛm, dii bɔne a ɔhene Ahab fiefoɔ yɛeɛ no anammɔn akyi. Ɔyɛɛ amumuyɛsɛm wɔ Awurade ani so ɛfiri sɛ, wɔbɔɔ ne din bataa awadeɛ a ɔkɔwaree Ahab efieni no ho.
And he walked in the way of the house of Achaab, and did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as did the house of Achaab.
28 Ahasia de ne ho kɔbɔɔ Israelhene Yoram ho wɔ ne ko a ɔko tiaa Aramhene Hasael wɔ Ramot-Gilead no.
And he went with Joram the son of Achaab to war against Azael king of the Syrians in Remmoth Galaad; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
29 Ɛberɛ a wɔpiraa ɔhene Yoram wɔ ɔko no mu no, ɔsane baa Yesreel sɛ ɔrebɛsa nʼapirakuro no. Ɛberɛ a Yoram wɔ hɔ no, Yudahene Ahasia kɔsraa no.
And king Joram returned to be healed in Jezrael of the wounds with which they wounded him in Remmoth, when he fought with Azael king of Syria. And Ochozias son of Joram went down to see Joram the son of Achaab in Jezrael, because he was sick.
