1 Yehoiakim ahennie mu no, Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar bɛto hyɛɛ Yuda asase so. Yehoiakim maa ne nsa so, na ɔtuaa toɔ maa no mfeɛ mmiɛnsa, nanso ɔtee Nebukadnessar so atua.
In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
2 Na Awurade somaa akofoɔ firi Babilonia, Aram, Moab ne Amon, kɔko tiaa Yuda, sɛee no, sɛdeɛ Awurade nam nʼadiyifoɔ so hyɛɛ ho nkɔm no.
Jehovah sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, and bands of the Arameans, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the people of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke by his servants the prophets.
3 Saa amanehunu yi baa Yuda so, sɛdeɛ Awurade hyɛeɛ no, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a ɔbɛyi no afiri nʼanim, ɛsiane bɔne dodoɔ a Manase yɛeɛ no enti.
Surely at the commandment of Jehovah this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,
4 Manase kaa mogya a ɛdi bem guiɛ de hyɛɛ Yerusalem ma, ɛno enti, Awurade amfa yei ankyɛ.
and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood: and Jehovah would not pardon.
5 Yehoiakim ahennie ho nsɛm nkaeɛ ne dwuma a ɔdiiɛ nyinaa, wɔatwerɛ agu Yuda Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nwoma no mu.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
6 Ɛberɛ a Yehoiakim wuiɛ no, ne babarima Yehoiakyin na ɔdii nʼadeɛ sɛ ɔhene.
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers; and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.
7 Na ɛno akyi, Misraimhene ansane amma bio. Na Babiloniahene na ɔfaa asase a anka na Misraimfoɔ no agyeɛ no nyinaa, ɛfiri Misraim asuwa no so, kɔsi Asubɔnten Eufrate ho.
The king of Egypt did not come again out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the Wadi of Egypt to the river Perath, all that pertained to the king of Egypt.
8 Ɛberɛ a Yehoiakyin dii adeɛ no, na wadi mfeɛ dunwɔtwe, na ɔdii ɔhene Yerusalem abosome mmiɛnsa. Na ne maame yɛ Elnatan a ɔfiri Yerusalem no babaa Nehusta.
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned in Jerusalem three months: and his mother's name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
9 Yehoiakyin yɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so, sɛdeɛ nʼagya yɛeɛ no ara pɛ.
He did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his father had done.
10 Yehoiakyin ahennie mu no, Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar akodɔm mu mpanimfoɔ bɛtuaa Yerusalem.
At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
11 Ɔtua no mu, Nebukadnessar ankasa baa kuropɔn no mu.
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city, while his servants were besieging it;
12 Na ɔhene Yehoiakyin ne nʼafotufoɔ, atitire, mpanimfoɔ ne ɔhemmaa de wɔn ho maa Babiloniafoɔ. Nebukadnessar dii adeɛ ne mfeɛ nwɔtwe so no, ɔkyeree Yehoiakyin, de no too afiase.
and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his officers, and his officers. And the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
13 Sɛdeɛ Awurade aka dada no, Nebukadnessar tasee agyapadeɛ a ɛwɔ Awurade Asɔredan mu hɔ no ne ahemfie hɔ nyinaa. Wɔsɛee sikakɔkɔɔ akoradeɛ a Israelhene Salomo de sisii asɔredan mu hɔ no nyinaa.
He carried out there all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in Jehovah's temple, as Jehovah had said.
14 Ɔhene Nebukadnessar kyekyeree nneduafoɔ ɔpedu firii Yerusalem a ahenemma nyinaa ne asraafoɔ akodifoɔ, adwumfoɔ ne atomfoɔ a wɔdi mu ka ho. Ɛno enti, ahiafoɔ nko ara na ɔgyaa wɔn wɔ asase no so.
He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the officials, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths; none remained, except the poorest sort of the people of the land.
15 Nebukadnessar faa ɔhene Yehoiakyin de no kɔɔ Babilonia sɛ odeduani a ne yerenom ne ne mpanimfoɔ, ɔhemmaa ne Yerusalem nnipa atitire ka ho.
He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the chief men of the land, carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16 Afei, ɔfaa akofoɔ a wɔte apɔ no mpem nson, adwumfoɔ ne atomfoɔ apem a wɔn nyinaa yɛ mmarima a wɔn ho yɛ den na wɔfata akodie.
All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
17 Afei, Babiloniahene de Yehoiakyin wɔfa Matania dii adeɛ sɛ ɔhene foforɔ. Ɔsesaa Matania din frɛɛ no Sedekia.
The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin's father's brother, king is his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18 Ɛberɛ a Sedekia dii adeɛ no, na wadi mfirinhyia aduonu baako. Ɔdii adeɛ wɔ Yerusalem mfirinhyia dubaako. Na ne maame din de Hamutal a ɔyɛ Yeremia a ɔfiri Libna no babaa.
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
19 Na Sedekia yɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so, sɛdeɛ Yehoiakim yɛeɛ no.
He did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
20 Ɛno enti, Awurade abufuo enti na yeinom nyinaa baa Yerusalem ne Yuda so, na akyire yi, ɔyii nʼani firii wɔn so. Afei, Sedekia sɔre tiaa Babiloniahene.
For through the anger of Jehovah, it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
