< 2 Berɛsosɛm 33 >
1 Ɛberɛ a Manase dii adeɛ no, na wadi mfirinhyia dumienu. Ɔdii ɔhene wɔ Yerusalem mfirinhyia aduonum enum.
Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.
2 Ɔyɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so, suasuaa abosonsomfoɔ aman nneyɛeɛ a ɛyɛ akyiwadeɛ. Ɔsuaa deɛ ɛnam so maa Awurade pamoo abosonsomfoɔ no firii asase a ɛda Israel anim no so no.
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.
3 Ɔsane sisii asɔreeɛ a nʼagya Hesekia sɛee no no. Ɔsii afɔrebukyia maa Baal ahoni, sisii Asera afɔrebukyia. Ɔsane kotoo nsoromma a ɛwɔ ewiem no nyinaa, somm wɔn.
For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he raised up altars for the Baals, made Asheroth, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.
4 Mpo, ɔsisii abosonsom afɔrebukyia wɔ Awurade Asɔredan mu, baabi a Awurade aka sɛ, ɛhɔ na ɛsɛ sɛ wɔdi ne din ni afebɔɔ no.
He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said, “My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”
5 Ɔsisii saa afɔrebukyia no wɔ Awurade Asɔredan no adihɔ mmienu hɔ, de maa ewiem nsoromma no.
He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of Yahweh’s house.
6 Manase de ɔno ankasa mmammarima bɔɔ afɔdeɛ wɔ ogya so wɔ Hinom Babarima Bɔnhwa mu. Ɔde ne ho hyɛɛ asumansɛm mu, kɔɔ abisa, yɛɛ abayisɛm, kɔɔ asamanfrɛfoɔ ne adunsifoɔ nkyɛn. Ɔyɛɛ nneɛma pii a ɛyɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so, maa Awurade bo fuiɛ.
He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits and with wizards. He did much evil in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger.
7 Na Manase faa ohoni a wasene, de kɔsii Onyankopɔn Asɔredan mu. Ɔde kɔsii baabi korɔ no ara a Onyankopɔn ka kyerɛɛ Dawid ne ne babarima Salomo sɛ, “Wɔbɛdi me din ni wɔ ha afebɔɔ, asɔredan yi mu ne Yerusalem, kuropɔn a mayi afiri mmusuakuo a ɛwɔ Israel no nyinaa mu no.
He set the engraved image of the idol, which he had made, in God’s house, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever.
8 Sɛ Israelfoɔ di mʼahyɛdeɛ nyinaa so, me mmara a wɔnam Mose so maeɛ no nyinaa so a, merentwa wɔn asuo mfiri asase a mede maa wɔn agyanom no so.”
I will not any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers, if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law, the statutes, and the ordinances given by Moses.”
9 Nanso, Manase dii ɔmanfoɔ a wɔwɔ Yuda ne Yerusalem anim, ma wɔyɛɛ bɔnetrasoɔ sene abosonsom aman a Awurade sɛee wɔn wɔ ɛberɛ a Israelfoɔ kɔɔ asase no so no.
Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than did the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 Awurade kasa kyerɛɛ Manase ne ne nkurɔfoɔ no, nanso wɔantie ne kɔkɔbɔ no mu biara.
Yahweh spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they didn’t listen.
11 Enti, Awurade maa Asiriafoɔ akodɔm bɛfaa Manase yɛɛ no ɔdeduani. Wɔde darewa hyɛɛ ne hwene mu, de kɔbere mfrafraeɛ nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn kyekyeree no, de no kɔɔ Babilonia.
Therefore Yahweh brought on them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12 Na ɛberɛ a Manase wɔ ahokyere a emu yɛ den mu no, ɔpɛɛ Awurade, ne Onyankopɔn akyiri kwan, na ɔde ahobrɛaseɛ su frɛɛ nʼagyanom Onyankopɔn.
When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.
13 Na ɛberɛ a ɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ no, Awurade tiee no, na nʼabisadeɛ no kaa nʼakoma. Enti, Awurade maa Manase sane kɔɔ Yerusalem wɔ nʼahennie mu. Afei, Manase tee aseɛ sɛ, Awurade nko ara ne Onyankopɔn.
He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.
14 Yei akyi, Manase sane sisii Dawid kuropɔn abɔntene afasuo; ɛfiri Gihon asutire atɔeɛ fam a ɛwɔ Kidron bɔnhwa mu, de kɔ Apataa Ɛpono ano, kɔsi Ofel bepɔ so a wɔsi maa ɛkɔɔ soro yie no. Na ɔduaa nʼasraafoɔ mpanimfoɔ no wɔ Yuda nkuropɔn a wɔabɔ ho ban no nyinaa mu.
Now after this, he built an outer wall to David’s city on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate. He encircled Ophel with it, and raised it up to a very great height; and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.
15 Manase sane tutuu amamfrafoɔ anyame fifirii mmepɔ no so. Ɔsane tutuu anyame ne ahoni no firii Awurade Asɔredan mu. Ɔbubuu afɔrebukyia a wasisi wɔ bepɔ so, baabi a Asɔredan no si, ne afɔrebukyia a ɛwɔ Yerusalem nyinaa, na ɔkɔto guu kuropɔn no mfikyire.
He took away the foreign gods and the idol out of Yahweh’s house, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of Yahweh’s house and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
16 Na ɔsane sii Awurade afɔrebukyia no, bɔɔ asomdwoeɛ afɔdeɛ ne aseda afɔdeɛ wɔ so. Afei, ɔhyɛɛ Yuda manfoɔ no nkuran sɛ, wɔnsom Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn no.
He built up Yahweh’s altar, and offered sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving on it, and commanded Judah to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel.
17 Nanso, na ɔmanfoɔ no gu so bɔ afɔdeɛ wɔ abosonsom asɔreeɛ so. Nanso, na wɔbɔ ma Awurade wɔn Onyankopɔn ara.
Nevertheless the people still sacrificed in the high places, but only to Yahweh their God.
18 Manase adedie ho nsɛm nkaeɛ, ne mpaeɛ a ɔbɔɔ Onyankopɔn ne nsɛm a adehunumufoɔ ka kyerɛɛ no wɔ Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn din mu no, wɔatwerɛ agu Israel ahemfo nwoma mu.
Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.
19 Manase mpaeɛ ne ɛkwan a Onyankopɔn faa so buaa no, ne ne bɔne ne atorɔ a ɔdiiɛ nyinaa ho nsɛm no, wɔatwerɛ agu adehunumufoɔ nwoma mu. Baabi a ɔsii abosonsom asɔreeɛ, sisii Asera afɔrebukyia ne ahoni ansa na ɔrenu ne ho no nso ka ho.
His prayer also, and how God listened to his request, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places and set up the Asherah poles and the engraved images before he humbled himself: behold, they are written in the history of Hozai.
20 Ɛberɛ a Manase wuiɛ no, wɔsiee no wɔ nʼahemfie. Na ne babarima Amon na ɔyɛɛ ɔhene a ɔdi hɔ.
So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house; and Amon his son reigned in his place.
21 Ɛberɛ a Amon dii adeɛ no, na wadi mfirinhyia aduonu mmienu. Ɔdii ɔhene wɔ Yerusalem mfeɛ mmienu.
Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22 Ɔyɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so, sɛdeɛ nʼagya Manase yɛeɛ no. Ɔsomm ahoni a nʼagya yɛeɛ no nyinaa, bɔɔ afɔdeɛ maa wɔn.
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.
23 Nanso, wansɛ nʼagya Manase, ɛfiri sɛ, wammrɛ ne ho ase amma Awurade. Mmom, Amon yɛɛ bɔne maa ɛtraa so.
He didn’t humble himself before Yahweh, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.
24 Akyire yi, Amon no ara mpanimfoɔ pamm ne tiri so, kumm no wɔ nʼahemfie.
His servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.
25 Nanso, ɔmanfoɔ a wɔwɔ asase no so kunkumm wɔn a wɔbɔɔ pɔ tiaa ɔhene Amon no, na wɔsii ne babarima Yosia ɔhene, sii nʼanan mu.
But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
