2 Berɛsosɛm 10
1 Rehoboam kɔɔ Sekem, ɛfiri sɛ, na Israelfoɔ nyinaa akɔ hɔ sɛ wɔrekɔsi no ɔhene.
And he went Rehoboam Shechem towards for Shechem they had come all Israel to make king him.
2 Ɛberɛ a Nebat babarima Yeroboam tee Salomo wuo no, ɔfiri Misraim baeɛ, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔdwane firii Salomo anim kɔɔ Misraim.
And it was when heard Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat and he [was] in Egypt where he had fled from before Solomon the king and he returned Jeroboam from Egypt.
3 Israel mpanimfoɔ soma maa wɔkɔfaa Yeroboam, na ɔne Israel nyinaa kɔɔ sɛ wɔne Rehoboam rekɔkasa.
And people sent and they summoned him and he came Jeroboam and all Israel and they spoke to Rehoboam saying.
4 Wɔkaa sɛ, “Wʼagya hyɛɛ yɛn ma yɛyɛɛ adwumaden. Yɛsrɛ wo, te saa adwumaden ne apeatoɔ adesoa duruduru a wʼagya de soaa yɛn no so. Woyɛ saa a, yɛbɛsom wo nokorɛ mu.”
Father your he made hard yoke our and therefore lighten some of [the] labor of father your hard and some of yoke his heavy which he put on us and we will serve you.
5 Rehoboam buaa wɔn sɛ, “Mommra nnansa akyi, mmɛgye mmuaeɛ.” Enti, nnipa no kɔeɛ.
And he said to them again three days and return to me and it went the people.

And he consulted the king Rehoboam with the elders who they had been standing before Solomon father his when was he alive saying how? [are] you counseling to bring back to the people this word.
7 Mpanimfoɔ yi buaa sɛ, “Sɛ woyɛ nnipa no yie, na woyɛ ayamyɛ kyerɛ wɔn ma ɛsɔ wɔn ani a, wɔn nso bɛyɛ wo nkurɔfoɔ nokwafoɔ.”
And they spoke to him saying if you will become good to the people this and you will be favorable to them and you will speak to them words kind and they will be of you servants all the days.

And he abandoned [the] counsel of the elders which they had counseled him and he consulted with the youths who they had grown up with him who stood before him.
9 Ɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Mo nso mo adwene ne sɛn? Mmuaeɛ bɛn na memfa nkɔma nnipa a wɔpɛ sɛ mete adesoa a mʼagya de soaa wɔn no so?”
And he said to them what? [are] you counseling and we may bring back word the people this who they have spoken to me saying lighten some of the yoke which he put father your on us.
10 Mmeranteɛ no buaa sɛ, “Ka kyerɛ wɔn a wɔnwiinwii no sɛ, ‘Me kɔkorɔbɛto mu pi sene mʼagya asene; sɛ modwene sɛ ɔhyɛɛ mo so dodo a, montwɛn na monhwɛ sɛdeɛ mɛyɛ.’
And they spoke with him the youths who they had grown up with him saying thus you will say to the people which they have spoken to you saying father your he made heavy yoke our and you lighten from on us thus you will say to them little finger my it is thick more than [the] loins of father my.
11 Aane, na mʼagya yɛ den wɔ mo so, nanso me deɛ, mɛyɛ deɛ ɛkyɛn saa. Sɛ mʼagya kaa mo mpire a, me deɛ mede anyanyankyerɛ bɛkeka mo.”
And therefore father my he loaded on you a yoke heavy and I I will add to yoke your father my he disciplined you with whips and I with scorpions.
12 Nnansa akyi, Yeroboam ne nnipa no nyinaa sane baa sɛ wɔrebɛtie Rehoboam mmuaeɛ, sɛdeɛ ɔkaeɛ no.
And he came Jeroboam and all the people to Rehoboam on the day third just as he had spoken the king saying return to me on the day third.

And he answered them the king hard and he abandoned the king Rehoboam [the] counsel of the elders.

And he spoke to them according to [the] counsel of the young men saying I will make heavy yoke your and I I will add to it father my he disciplined you with whips and I with scorpions.
15 Enti, ɔhene no antie nnipa no adesrɛ. Sɛdeɛ nneɛma mu daneeɛ no nyinaa firi Awurade, ɛfiri sɛ, ɛmaa asɛm a Awurade nam Ahiya a ɔfiri Silo so ka kyerɛɛ Nebat babarima Yeroboam no baa mu.
And not he listened the king to the people for it was a turn from with God so as to establish Yahweh word his which he had spoken by [the] hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat.

And he sent the king Rehoboam Hadoram who [was] over the forced labor and they stoned him [the] people of Israel stone[s] and he died and the king Rehoboam he proved himself strong to go up in the chariot to flee Jerusalem.
