1 Timoteo 1
1 Nwoma yi firi Kristo Yesu somafoɔ Paulo nkyɛn. Onyankopɔn a ɔyɛ yɛn Gyefoɔ ne Kristo Yesu a ɔma yɛn anidasoɔ na ɔfrɛɛ me.
Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ by the appointment of God our Saviour, and the Lord Jesus Christ our hope,
2 Meretwerɛ akɔma Timoteo a ɔyɛ me ba kann wɔ gyidie no mu: Agya Onyankopɔn ne Kristo Yesu a ɔyɛ yɛn Awurade no adom, mmɔborɔhunu ne asomdwoeɛ nka mo.
to Timothy my true son in the faith, be grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 Mepɛ sɛ motena Efeso sɛdeɛ merekɔ Makedonia no meka kyerɛɛ mo no. Nnipa bi wɔ hɔ a wɔma nkyerɛkyerɛ bɔne a ɛsɛ sɛ mohyɛ wɔn na wɔgyae.
As I exhorted thee to stay at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge certain persons not to teach other doctrine,
4 Monka nkyerɛ wɔn na wɔnnyae atorɔsɛm ne wɔn nananom din bebrebe a wɔbobɔ no, ɛfiri sɛ, saa nneyɛeɛ no de akyinnyeɛ ba. Ɛmmoa Onyankopɔn nhyehyɛeɛ a wɔnam gyidie nko so na wɔhunu no.
nor attend to fables and endless genealogies, which occasion debates, rather than pious edification in the faith:
5 Saa ɔhyɛ yi botaeɛ ara ne sɛ, ɛbɛkanyane ɔdɔ a ɛfiri akoma pa, adwenem fann ne gyidie pa mu.
so do, and acquaint them that the end of that charge is charity, out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned:
6 Nnipa bi atwe wɔn ho afiri ɛkwan pa no so de wɔn ho ama akyinnyeɛ hunu.
from which some having swerved are turned aside to vain discourses;
7 Wɔpɛ sɛ wɔyɛ Onyankopɔn mmara no akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ nanso wɔn ara wɔn nsɛm a wɔka no wɔnte aseɛ. Saa ara nso na wɔnni gyidie wɔ nsɛm a wɔka no mu.
desiring to be teachers of the law, though they neither understand what they say, nor what things they assert.
8 Yɛnim sɛ, sɛ wɔnam mmara ɛkwan so de Mmara no di dwuma a, ɛyɛ.
But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
9 Ɛsɛ sɛ yɛkae hunu sɛ, wɔanyɛ mmara no amma ateneneefoɔ na mmom, wɔyɛ maa mmaratofoɔ, nnebɔneyɛfoɔ, wɔn a wɔnsuro Onyame ne abɔnefoɔ, wɔn a wɔnyɛ kronkron anaa wɔn ho nteɛ, wɔn a wɔkum wɔn agyanom ne wɔn maamenom, awudifoɔ,
knowing this, that a law does not lie against a righteous person, but against the lawless and unruly, the impious and wicked, the unholy and profane,
10 afideyɛfoɔ, adwamammɔfoɔ, nnipawiafoɔ, atorofoɔ a wɔka nkontomposɛm anaa wɔyɛ biribi a ɛne nokorɛ nkyerɛkyerɛ no bɔ abira no.
parricides, murderers, whoremongers, sodomites, kidnappers, liars, false-swearers, and if there be any thing else contrary to that sound doctrine,
11 Saa nokorɛ nkyerɛkyerɛ no wɔ Asɛmpa a wɔde ama me sɛ menka ho asɛm nkyerɛ no mu. Ɛyɛ Asɛmpa a ɛfiri Onyankopɔn a ɔyɛ onimuonyamfoɔ na wɔahyira no no nkyɛn.
which is according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I was intrusted.
12 Meda yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo a wama me ahoɔden ma medi me dwuma no ase. Meda no ase sɛ wadwene me ho sɛ mefata na wayi me sɛ mensom no.
And I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who gave me ability for the work, that He accounted me faithful, having put me into the ministry,
13 Nanso, mmerɛ bi a atwam no, na mekasa tia no, taa no, kaa nsɛm a ɛmfata faa ne ho. Onyankopɔn ahunu me mmɔbɔ na ɛsiane sɛ na mennye nni enti, na mennim deɛ mereyɛ.
who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and an oppressor. But I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief: and the grace of our Lord superabounded,
14 Yɛn Awurade hwiee nʼadom a ɛdɔɔso no guu me so maa me gyidie ne ɔdɔ a ɛsiane Kristo Yesu enti, abɛyɛ yɛn dea no.
with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
15 Yei yɛ nokwasɛm a ɛsɛ sɛ yɛgye tom na yɛgye di koraa sɛ: Kristo Yesu baa ewiase bɛgyee nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nkwa. Na meyɛ ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ a ɔdi ɛkan koraa.
It is a truth highly to be believed, and worthy to be received by all, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners: ---of whom I am one of the chief.
16 Nanso, ɛsiane saa enti, wahunu me mmɔbɔ sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a me a meyɛ ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ a ɔdi ɛkan no, Kristo Yesu nam me so bɛda ne boasetɔ a ɛnni awieeɛ no adi akyerɛ wɔn a wɔbɛgye no adi no na wɔanya nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ. (aiōnios g166)
But for this end I obtained mercy, that in me a chief sinner Jesus Christ might display his long-suffering, for an example to those who should afterwards believe on Him to eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
17 Animuonyam ne anidie nka Onyankopɔn daa daa. Ɔno ne mmerɛsantenhene. Ɔno na wɔnhunu no na ɔnwu da nso. Ɔno nko ara ne Onyankopɔn a nimdeɛ ahyɛ no ma. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
18 Afei, me ba Timoteo, mede saa dwumadie a wɔhyɛɛ ho nkɔm firi tete no hyɛ wo nsa. Wogu so reko ɔko pa no no, ma saa nsɛm no nyɛ wʼakodeɛ,
This charge I commit to thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which before came on thee, that by them thou mightest war a good warfare,
19 na sɔ wo gyidie mu denden na ma wʼadwene mu nyɛ fann. Nnipa bi ntie wɔn atiboa nam saayɛ so asɛe wɔn gyidie.
having faith and a good conscience, which some putting away have made shipwreck concerning the faith:
20 Saa nnipa no bi ne Himeneo ne Aleksandro a mayi wɔn ama Ɔbonsam na wɔatwe wɔn aso sɛdeɛ wɔrenka abususɛm ntia Onyankopɔn bio.
of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
