1 Tesalonikafoɔ 5
1 Anuanom, ɛho nhia sɛ mɛtwerɛ akyerɛ mo nna ne ɛberɛ a saa nsɛm yi bɛsisi.
But about the times and their order, my brothers, there is no need for me to say anything to you.
2 Ɛfiri sɛ, mo ankasa monim yie sɛ ɛda a Awurade bɛba no bɛyɛ sɛ ɔkorɔmfoɔ a ɔreba anadwo.
For you yourselves have the knowledge that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3 Ɛberɛ a nnipa bɛka sɛ, “biribiara yɛ asomdwoeɛ” no, saa ɛberɛ no na adesɛeɛ bɛba wɔn so. Na wɔrentumi nnwane. Ɛbɛyɛ te sɛ yea a ɛba ɔpemfoɔ a ɔrewoɔ so no.
When they say, There is peace and no danger, then sudden destruction will come on them, as birth-pains on a woman with child; and they will not be able to get away from it.
4 Nanso, mo anuanom yi deɛ, monte esum mu enti ɛnsɛ sɛ saa da no fu mo mu sɛ ɔkorɔmfoɔ.
But you, my brothers, are not in the dark, for that day to overtake you like a thief:
5 Mo nyinaa moyɛ hann ne adekyeeɛ mma. Yɛnyɛ anadwo ne sum mma.
For you are all sons of light and of the day: we are not of the night or of the dark.
6 Ɛno enti, ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛdeda sɛ afoforɔ no. Ɛsɛ sɛ yɛwɛn na yɛbrɛ yɛn ho ase.
So then, let us not take our rest as the others do, but let us be self-controlled and awake.
7 Anadwo na nnipa da. Anadwo na nnipa boro nsã.
For those who are sleeping do so in the night; and those who are the worse for drink are so in the night;
8 Nanso yɛyɛ adekyeeɛ mma enti ɛsɛ sɛ yɛbrɛ yɛn ho ase. Ɛsɛ sɛ yɛhyɛ gyidie ne ɔdɔ nkataboɔ ne yɛn nkwagyeɛ anidasoɔ sɛ dadeɛ kyɛ.
But let us, who are of the day, be serious, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and on our heads, the hope of salvation.
9 Onyankopɔn anyi yɛn sɛ yɛmmɛhunu amane wɔ nʼabufuo ano, na mmom, ɔyii yɛn sɛ yɛbɛnya nkwagyeɛ wɔ Awurade Yesu Kristo mu.
For God's purpose for us is not wrath, but salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Kristo wu maa yɛn, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, sɛ yɛanyane anaa sɛ yɛawu oo, yɛne no bɛtena ase wɔ nkwa mu.
Who was put to death for us, so that, awake or sleeping, we may have a part in his life.
11 Esiane saa enti, monhyɛ mo ho nkuran na mommoaboa mo ho mo ho sɛdeɛ mogu so reyɛ yi.
So then, go on comforting and building up one another, as you have been doing.
12 Anuanom, yɛsrɛ mo sɛ, momfa obuo ne anidie mma wɔn a Awurade ayi wɔn sɛ wɔnni mo anim nkyerɛkyerɛ mo no.
But we make this request to you, my brothers: give attention to those who are working among you, who are over you in the Lord to keep order among you;
13 Esiane adwuma a wɔyɛ no enti, mommu wɔn na monnɔ wɔn yie. Montena ase asomdwoeɛ mu.
And have a high opinion of them in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Anuanom, yɛhyɛ mo sɛ, monkasa nkyerɛ anihafoɔ, monka wɔn a wɔnyɛ hye no hye; mommoa wɔn a wɔyɛ mmerɛ; monto mo bo ase mma wɔn nyinaa.
And our desire is that you will keep control over those whose lives are not well ordered, giving comfort to the feeble-hearted, supporting those with little strength, and putting up with much from all.
15 Monhwɛ sɛ obi mmfa bɔne a obi ayɛ no no ho ka ntua no. Ɛberɛ biara, momma ɛnyɛ mo botaeɛ sɛ mobɛyɛ papa ama mo ho mo ho ne obiara.
Let no one give evil for evil; but ever go after what is good, for one another and for all.
16 Momma mo ani nnye da biara
Have joy at all times.
17 na ɛberɛ biara nso, mommɔ mpaeɛ;
Keep on with your prayers.
18 biribiara mu, monna ase. Yei na Onyankopɔn hwehwɛ afiri mo nkyɛn wɔ Kristo Yesu mu.
In everything give praise: for this is the purpose of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Monnka Honhom Kronkron no nhyɛ;
Do not put out the light of the Spirit;
20 monnsi adiyisɛm atwetwe.
Do not make little of the words of the prophets;
21 Monsɔ biribiara nhwɛ; momfa deɛ ɛyɛ.
Let all things be tested; keep to what is good;
22 Na monkyiri bɔne biara.
Keep from every form of evil.
23 Na ɔno asomdwoeɛ Onyankopɔn no ara nte mo ho koraa, na ɔnhwɛ mo honhom ne mo ɔkra ne mo onipadua so a ɛho remma asɛm biara kɔsi sɛ yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo bɛba.
And may the God of peace himself make you holy in every way; and may your spirit and soul and body be free from all sin at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Ɔnokwafoɔ ne deɛ ɔfrɛɛ mo no, ɔno nso na ɔbɛyɛ.
God, by whom you have been marked out in his purpose, is unchanging and will make it complete.
25 Anuanom, mommɔ mpaeɛ mma yɛn.
Brothers, keep us in mind in your prayers.
26 Momfa mfeano kronkron nkyeakyea anuanom nyinaa.
Give all the brothers a holy kiss.
27 Mehyɛ mo wɔ Awurade tumi mu sɛ monkenkan saa nwoma yi nkyerɛ anuanom no nyinaa.
I give orders in the name of the Lord that all the brothers are to be present at the reading of this letter.
28 Yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo adom nka mo.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
