< 1 Tesalonikafoɔ 4 >
1 Anuanom, asɛm a ɛtwa toɔ ne sɛ, mosuaa kwan pa a ɛsɛ sɛ mofa so tena ase a ɛbɛsɔ Onyankopɔn ani. Na saa pɛpɛɛpɛ na morebɔ mo bra. Enti, yɛde yɛn Awurade Yesu din srɛ, hyɛ mo sɛ, monyɛ mma ɛmmoro deɛ moreyɛ seesei no so.
Further, friends, we beg and urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus to carry out more fully than ever – as indeed you are already doing – all that you have heard from us as to what your daily life must be, if it is to please God.
2 Monim nkyerɛkyerɛ a ɛnam Awurade Yesu tumi enti, yɛtumi kyerɛkyerɛɛ mo.
For you have not forgotten the directions that we gave you on the authority of our Lord Jesus.
3 Yei yɛ Onyankopɔn pɛ a ɔwɔ ma mo. Ɔpɛ sɛ moyɛ kronkron na motwe mo ho firi adwamammɔ ho.
For this is God’s purpose – that you should be pure; abstaining from all immorality;
4 Ɛsɛ sɛ mosua sɛdeɛ mohyɛ mo ho so na obiara atumi ne ne yere atena kronnyɛ ne animuonyam so.
each of you learning to gain control over your own body, in a way that is holy and honorable,
5 Monntena ase akɔnnɔ anibereɛ so te sɛ wɔn a wɔnnim Onyankopɔn.
and not for the mere gratification of your passions, like the Gentiles who know nothing of God;
6 Onyankopɔn akyiwadeɛ no bi nso ne sɛ, ɛnsɛ sɛ mo mu biara sisi ne yɔnko na ɔgye ne yere, ɛfiri sɛ, sɛ obi yɛ saa a, Onyankopɔn bɛtwe nʼaso dendeenden sɛdeɛ yɛadi ɛkan abɔ mo kɔkɔ no.
none of you overreaching or taking advantage of their fellow follower of the Lord in such matters. The Lord takes vengeance on all who do such things, as we have already warned you and solemnly declared.
7 Onyankopɔn amfrɛ yɛn sɛ yɛmmɛbɔ adwaman, na mmom, ɔfrɛɛ yɛn sɛ yɛntena ase ahoteɛ mu.
For God does not call us to an impure life, but demands holiness.
8 Ɛno enti, obiara a ɔbɛpo nkyerɛkyerɛ no ntia onipa, na mmom, ɔtia Onyankopɔn a ɔma mo Honhom Kronkron no.
Therefore the person who disregards this warning disregards, not people, but God who gives you his Holy Spirit.
9 Ɛho nhia sɛ mɛtwerɛ mo afa ɔdɔ a ɛsɛ sɛ modɔ mo nuanom asuafoɔ no ho. Onyankopɔn akyerɛ mo ankasa ɛkwan a ɛsɛ sɛ mofa so dodɔ mo ho mo ho.
As to love for each other there is no need to write to you; for you have yourselves been taught by God to love one another;
10 Na moada saa ɔdɔ no adi pɛpɛɛpɛ akyerɛ anuanom a wɔwɔ Makedonia no nyinaa. Nanso, anuanom, yɛsrɛ mo sɛ monkɔ so nnodɔ mo ho mo ho mma ɛmmoro saa.
and indeed you do act in this spirit towards all his people throughout Macedonia. Yet, friends, we beg you to do even more.
11 Momma ɛnyɛ mo botaeɛ sɛ mobɛtena ase dinn na moahwɛ so adi mo dwuma de abɔ mo ho akɔnhoma sɛdeɛ yɛaka akyerɛ mo dada no.
Make it your ambition to live quietly, and to attend to your own business, and to work with your hands, as we directed you;
12 Sɛ moyɛ saa a, ɛbɛma wɔn a wɔnyɛ asuafoɔ no afɛre mo na moremmisa deɛ ɛhia mo nso mfiri obiara nkyɛn.
so that your conduct may win respect from those outside the church, and that you may not want for anything.
13 Anuanom, yɛpɛ sɛ yɛka nokorɛ a ɛfa wɔn a wɔawuwu no ho kyerɛ mo sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, morenni ho awerɛhoɔ te sɛ wɔn a wɔnni anidasoɔ no.
We don’t want you to be ignorant, friends, about those who have passed to their rest. We don’t want you to grieve like other people who have no hope.
14 Yɛgye di sɛ Yesu wuiɛ, na ɔsɔree bio. Enti sɛ Onyankopɔn de Yesu ba bio a, ɔde wɔn a wɔnyaa ne mu gyidie ansa na wɔrewuo no bɛka ne ho aba.
For, as we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring, with Jesus, those who through him have passed to their rest.
15 Awurade nkyerɛkyerɛ a yɛreka akyerɛ mo no ne sɛ, ɛda a Awurade bɛba no, yɛn a yɛte ase yi renni awufoɔ no anim ɛkan.
This we tell you on the authority of the Lord – that those of us who are still living at the coming of the Lord will not anticipate those who have passed to their rest.
16 Awurade no ankasa de ɔhyɛ a ano yɛ den, ɔbɔfoɔ panin nteamu ne Onyankopɔn totorobɛnto nnyegyeeɛ firi ɔsoro bɛba fam. Wɔn a wɔawuwu wɔ Kristo mu no bɛsɔre kane,
For, with a loud summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the trumpet-call of God, the Lord himself will come down from heaven.
17 na wɔaboaboa yɛn a yɛte ase ɛberɛ no ne wɔn a wɔasɔre no ano wɔ omununkum mu ahyia Awurade wɔ ewiem. Na saa na yɛne Awurade bɛtena daa.
Then those who died in union with Christ will rise first; and afterward we who are still living will be caught up in the clouds, with them, to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be for ever with the Lord.
18 Enti, momfa saa asɛm yi nkyekyere obiara werɛ.
Therefore, comfort one another with what I have told you.
