1 Na Awurade asɛm baa Hanani babarima Yehu so tiaa Baasa sɛ,
Then came the word of Yahweh unto Jehu
2 “Mepagyaa wo firii mfuturo mu, de wo tuaa me nkurɔfoɔ Israel ano. Nanso, wofaa Yeroboam kwan bɔne no so, maa me nkurɔfoɔ Israel yɛɛ bɔne, maa wɔn bɔne a wɔyɛeɛ no hyɛɛ me abufuo.
son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying: Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel, —and yet thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and caused, my people Israel, to sin, provoking me to anger with their sins,
3 Enti, merebɛsɛe Baasa ne ne fie, na mɛyɛ wo fie te sɛ Nebat babarima Yeroboam deɛ.
Behold me! consuming after Baasha, and after his house, —and I will deliver up thy house, like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat:
4 Wɔn a wɔbɛwuwu wɔ kuro no mu a wɔyɛ Yeroboam dea no deɛ, nkraman bɛwe wɔn ɛnam. Na ewiem nnomaa na wɔbɛsosɔ wɔn a wɔbɛwuwu wiram no.”
Him that dieth of Baasha in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth of his in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat.
5 Na Baasa adedie ne ɛho nsɛm nkaeɛ, deɛ ɔyɛeɛ ne ne mpontuo no, wɔatwerɛ agu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nwoma no mu.
Now, the rest of the story of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
6 Baasa wuiɛ no, wɔsiee no wɔ Tirsa. Na ne babarima Ela dii nʼadeɛ sɛ ɔhene.
So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah, —and, Elah his son, reigned, in his stead.
7 Na Awurade asɛm nam Hanani babarima odiyifoɔ Yehu so baa Baasa ne ne fiefoɔ so, ɛsiane bɔne dodoɔ a na wayɛ wɔ Awurade ani so no enti. Saa nneyɛeɛ no hyɛɛ Awurade abufuo. Na ɔyɛɛ sɛdeɛ ɔyɛɛ Yeroboam fie no ara pɛ, ɛfiri sɛ, Baasa nso sɛee Yeroboam fie.
Moreover also, through Jehu son of Hanani the prophet, the word of Yahweh, came against Baasha and against his house, even because of all the wickedness that he had done in the eyes of Yahweh, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, becoming like the house of Jeroboam, —notwithstanding that he smote him.
8 Baasa babarima Ela hyɛɛ aseɛ dii Israel so wɔ Tirsa a saa ɛberɛ no, na ɔhene Asa adi adeɛ wɔ Yuda mfeɛ aduonu nsia. Ɔdii ɔhene wɔ Israel mfeɛ mmienu.
In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, began Elah son of Baasha to reign over Israel, in Tirzah, [and he reigned] two years.
9 Na Simri, a na ɔyɛ safohene wɔ adehyeɛ nteaseɛnam no mu fa so, bɔɔ ne tirim pɔ sɛ ɔbɛkum Ela. Ɛda bi, Ela boroo nsã wɔ Arsa a na ɔyɛ ahemfie sohwɛfoɔ no fie wɔ Tirsa.
Then conspired against him his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, —as he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk, in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.
10 Simri kɔɔ hɔ de adeɛ kɔbɔɔ no ma ɔhwee fam wuiɛ. Saa asɛm yi sii ɔhene Asa adedie wɔ Yuda no afe a ɛtɔ so aduonu nson mu. Enti, Simri bɛyɛɛ ɔhene a ɔdi so.
And Zimri went in, and smote him and slew him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, —and reigned in his stead.
11 Ɛhɔ ara, Simri kunkumm Baasa adehyeɛ abusua no mu nnipa nyinaa a wannya abarimaa baako koraa. Mpo, ɔkunkumm ne ntɛtɛbusuafoɔ ne ne nnamfonom.
And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha, he left him not even the meanest, —neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12 Simri sɛee Baasa ahennie nnidisoɔ no, sɛdeɛ Awurade nam odiyifoɔ Yehu so ahyɛ no.
Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, —according to the word of Yahweh which he spake unto Baasha, through Jehu the prophet;
13 Yeinom siiɛ ɛsiane Baasa ne ne babarima Ela bɔne ne wɔn bɔne dodoɔ a wɔdii Israel anim ma wɔyɛeɛ no enti. Wɔde wɔn abosom huhuo hyɛɛ Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn, abufuo.
as to all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, —wherewith they sinned, and wherewith they caused, Israel, to sin, provoking to anger Yahweh God of Israel, with their vanities.
14 Ela ahennie ho nsɛm nkaeɛ ne dwuma a ɔdiiɛ nyinaa no, wɔatwerɛ agu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nwoma no mu.
Now, the rest of the story of Elah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
15 Simri tenaa Tirsa dii adeɛ Israel, ɛberɛ a na ɔhene Asa adi adeɛ wɔ Yuda mfeɛ aduonu nson mu, nanso ɔdii adeɛ nnanson pɛ. Ɛberɛ a Israel akodɔm a na wɔrekɔto ahyɛ Filistifoɔ kuro Gibeton so no
In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, did Zimri reign, seven days in Tirzah, —but, the people, were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistine.
16 tee sɛ Simri akum ɔhene no, wɔyii ɔsahene Omri de no dii adeɛ sɛ wɔn ɔhene foforɔ.
When therefore the people who were encamped, heard say, Zimri hath conspired, moreover also, he hath smitten the king, all Israel made Omri, general of the army, king over Israel, on that day, in the camp.
17 Enti, Omri dii Israel akodɔm anim, firi Gibeton kɔtuaa Tirsa a ɛyɛ Israel ahenkuro no.
So Omri, and all Israel with him, went up from Gibbethon, —and laid siege against Tirzah.
18 Ɛberɛ a Simri hunuu sɛ wɔafa kuro no, ɔkɔɔ ɔhene no abankɛsewa mu wɔ ne fie, na ɔhyee hɔ ne ne ho fraeɛ, ma ɔwuu egyadɛreɛ no mu.
And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was captured, that he entered into the citadel of the house of the king, —and burned over him the house of the king, with fire, and died:
19 Na ɔno nso ayɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so. Ɔdii Yeroboam anammɔn akyi, toaa bɔne a Yeroboam dii Israel anim yɛeɛ no so.
because of his sins which he committed by doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —by walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he committed, by causing, Israel, to sin.
20 Simri adedie ho nsɛm nkaeɛ ne ne pɔ bɔne a ɔbɔeɛ no, wɔatwerɛ agu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nwoma no mu.
Now, the rest of the story of Zimri, and his conspiracy wherein he conspired, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
21 Na afei, na Israelfoɔ no mu akyɛ mmienu. Na nnipa no mu fa pɛ sɛ wɔma Ginat babarima Tibni di wɔn so ɔhene, ɛnna ɛfa a aka no nso gyinaa Omri akyi.
Then, were the people of Israel divided, —half the people, were following Tibni son of Ginath, to make him king, and, half, following Omri.
22 Nanso, Omri akyidifoɔ no bu faa Ginat babarima Tibni akyidifoɔ no so. Enti, wɔkumm Tibni, ma Omri dii ɔhene.
But, the people that followed Omri, prevailed against, the people that followed Tibni son of Ginath; so that, Tibni, died, and, Omri, reigned.
23 Omri hyɛɛ aseɛ dii ɔhene wɔ Israel ɛberɛ a ɔhene Asa adi adeɛ wɔ Yuda mfeɛ aduasa baako mu. Ne nyinaa mu, ɔdii adeɛ mfeɛ dumienu a ɔde emu nsia tenaa Tirsa.
In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, began Omri to reign over Israel [and he reigned] twelve years: in Tirzah, reigned he six years.
24 Na Omri tɔɔ bepɔ bi a seesei wɔfrɛ no Samaria, firii Semer a na ɛyɛ ne dea no nkyɛn, dwetɛ kilogram aduosia nnwɔtwe. Ɔkyekyeree kuro wɔ so, na ɔtoo kuro no edin Samaria, de hyɛɛ Semer animuonyam.
And he bought the hill Samaria, of Shemer, for two talents of silver, —and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer lord of the hill—Samaria.
25 Nanso, Omri yɛɛ bɔne Awurade ani so, na mpo, ne bɔne no so sene ahemfo a wɔdi nʼanim no deɛ.
And Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all who were before him;
26 Ɔdii Yeroboam anammɔn akyi, kɔɔ so somm abosom, sɛdeɛ Yeroboam dii Israel anim, ma wɔyɛɛ no. Ɔde yei hyɛɛ Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn, abufuo.
yea he walked in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin, —provoking to anger Yahweh, God of Israel, with their vanities.
27 Omri adedie ho nsɛm nkaeɛ no ne deɛ ne tumi ano kɔsi ne ne dwuma a ɔdiiɛ no, wɔatwerɛ agu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nwoma no mu.
Now, the rest of the story of Omri, what he did, and his might that he shewed, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
28 Omri wuiɛ no, wɔsiee no Samaria. Na ne babarima Ahab na ɔdii nʼadeɛ sɛ ɔhene.
So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, —and, Ahab his son, reigned, in his stead.
29 Omri ba Ahab hyɛɛ aseɛ dii Israel so ɔhene ɛberɛ a na ɔhene Asa adi adeɛ Yuda mfeɛ aduasa nwɔtwe mu. Ɔdii adeɛ Samaria mfeɛ aduonu mmienu.
Now, Ahab son of Omri, began to reign over Israel, in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, —and Ahab son of Omri reigned over Israel, in Samaria, twenty-two years.
30 Nanso Omri ba Ahab yɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so. Mpo, na ne bɔne no so sene ahemfo a wɔdi nʼanim no nyinaa mu biara deɛ.
And Ahab son of Omri did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and did more wickedly than all that were before him.
31 Na ɔyɛɛ deɛ Yeroboam yɛɛ wɔ bɔneyɛ mu no bi. Wamma no anso hɔ ara. Ɔwaree Isebel a na ɔyɛ Sidonfoɔhene Etbaal babaa, na ɔhyɛɛ aseɛ somm Baal, sɔree no.
And it come to pass, as though it had been too light a thing that he should walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and bowed down to him.
32 Deɛ ɛdi ɛkan no, ɔsii abosomfie ne afɔrebukyia maa Baal wɔ Samaria.
And he reared an altar unto Baal, —in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.
33 Afei, ɔsii Asera afɔrebukyia. Ɔkɔɔ so yɛɛ pii de hyɛɛ Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn abufuo sene ahemfo a wɔadi nʼanim wɔ Israel no nyinaa.
And Ahab made the Sacred Stem, —and Ahab did yet more to provoke to anger Yahweh God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
34 Nʼahennie so na ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Hiel a ɔfiri Bet-El sane kyekyeree Yeriko. Ɔtoo fapem no, nʼabakan Abiram wuiɛ. Na ɔtintim abɔntenpono de wieeɛ no nso, ne kaakyire Segub nso wuiɛ. Yei nyinaa sisiiɛ, sɛdeɛ asɛm a ɛfiri Awurade nkyɛn fa Yeriko ho a Nun babarima Yosua kaeɛ no teɛ.
In his days, did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho, —At the price of Abiram his firstborn, he laid its foundation, and, at the price of Segub his youngest, he set up its doors, according to the word of Yahweh which he spake through Joshua son of Nun.
