< 1 Yohane 1 >
1 Yɛretwerɛ mo afa Nkwa Asɛm a ɛwɔ hɔ firi ahyɛaseɛ: Deɛ yɛateɛ, deɛ yɛde yɛn ani ahunu, deɛ yɛhwɛeɛ na yɛde yɛn nsa kaeɛ. Yei ne Nkwa Asɛm a yɛreka ho asɛm no.
We write to you about the Word of life, which has been in existence from the beginning. We write of what we have heard, of what we have seen with our eyes, of what we watched reverently and touched with our hands.
2 Nkwa no daa ne ho adi no, yɛhunuiɛ. Ɛno enti, yɛka ho asɛm kyerɛ mo, ɛne nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ a na ɛwɔ Agya no nkyɛn na wɔdaa no adi kyerɛɛ yɛn no. (aiōnios )
That life was made visible, and we have seen it. We bear our testimony to it, and tell you of that eternal life which was with the Father and was made visible to us. (aiōnios )
3 Yɛkaa deɛ yɛhunuiɛ na yɛteeɛ no kyerɛɛ mo nso, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, mo ne yɛn bɛnya ayɔnkofa wɔ ɔdɔ a yɛne Agya no ne Ɔba Yesu Kristo wɔ no mu.
It is of what we have seen and heard that we now tell you, so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
4 Yɛretwerɛ yei sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a yɛn anigyeɛ bɛwie pɛyɛ.
We are writing all this to you that our joy may be complete.
5 Afei, yei ne asɛm a yɛate afiri ne Ba no nkyɛn a yɛrebɔ mo amaneɛ. Onyankopɔn yɛ hann a esum nni ne mu koraa.
This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
6 Na sɛ afei yɛka sɛ yɛne no wɔ ayɔnkofa na saa ɛberɛ korɔ no ara mu yɛte sum mu a, na yɛredi atorɔ wɔ yɛn nsɛm ne yɛn nneyɛeɛ mu.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and yet continue to walk in the darkness, our words and our lives are a lie.
7 Na sɛ yɛte hann mu sɛdeɛ ɔte hann mu no a, ɛnneɛ na yɛne yɛn ho yɛn ho wɔ ayɔnkofa, na ne Ba Yesu no mogya te yɛn ho firi bɔne nyinaa ho.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 Sɛ yɛka sɛ yɛnni bɔne a, na yɛdaadaa yɛn ho, na nokorɛ no nni yɛn mu.
If we say, ‘we have no sin,’ then we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 Sɛ yɛka yɛn bɔne kyerɛ Onyankopɔn a, ɔyɛ ɔnokwafoɔ ne ɔteneneeni sɛ ɔde yɛn bɔne bɛkyɛ yɛn, na wate yɛn ho afiri deɛ ɛnte nyinaa ho.
If we confess our sins, he is just and may be trusted to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
10 Sɛ yɛka sɛ yɛnyɛɛ bɔne a, yɛma Onyankopɔn yɛ ɔtorofoɔ a nʼAsɛm no nni yɛn mu.
If we say that we haven’t sinned, we make God a liar, and his Word is not in us.
