1 Yuda asefoɔ no bi edin de Peres, Hesron, Karmi, Hur ne Sobal.
the sons of Judah, Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 Sobal babarima Reaia na ɔwoo Yahat. Yahat woo Ahumai ne Lahad. Yeinom na na wɔyɛ Sorafoɔ mmusua.
And, Reaiah son of Shobal, begat Jahath, and, Jahath, begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These, are the families of the Zorathites.
3 Na Etam asefoɔ no ne Yesreel, Yisma, Yidbas, ɛnna Haslelponi a na ɔyɛ ne babaa,
And, these, were the sons of Etam, Jezreel and Ishma, and Idbash, —and, the name of their sister, was Hazzelelponi;
4 Penuel a na ɔyɛ Gedor agya ne Eser a na ɔyɛ Husa agya. Yeinom na na wɔyɛ Hur a na ɔyɛ Efrata abakan ne Betlehem agya no asefoɔ.
and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer, the father of Hushah. These, are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
5 Na Tekoa agya a ne din de Ashur no wɔ yerenom baanu a wɔfrɛ wɔn Hela ne Naara.
And, Ashhur the father of Tekoa, had two wives, —Helah, and Naarah.
6 Naara woo Ahusam, Hefer, Temeni ne Ahastari.
And Naarah bare him Ahuzzam and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These, were the sons of Naarah.
7 Hela woo Seret, Sohar, Etnan,
And, the sons of Helah, were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.
8 ne Kos a nʼasefoɔ ne Anub, Hasobeba ne Harum babarima Aharhel, Harum ne ne mmusua nyinaa.
And, Koz, begat Anub, and Zobebah, —and the families of Aharhel, the son of Harum.
9 Na ɔbarima bi wɔ hɔ a wɔfrɛ no Yabes a ɔyɛɛ ɔkɛseɛ sene ne nuammarima nyinaa. Ne maame too no edin Yabes, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔnyaa ɔyea wɔ nʼawoɔ mu.
Now it came to pass that Jabez was more honourable than his brethren, —but, his mother, had called his name Jabez, ["he causes pain"] saying, Because I bare him with pain.
10 Yabes ne obi a ɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ kyerɛɛ Israel Onyankopɔn sɛ, “Ao, hyira me na trɛ mʼahyeɛ mu. Mesrɛ wo, ka me ho wɔ deɛ mɛyɛ biara mu, na yi me firi ɔhaw ne ɔyea nyinaa mu.” Na Onyankopɔn yɛɛ nʼabisadeɛ no maa no.
So then Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldst, indeed bless, me, and enlarge my boundary, and that thy hand might be with me, —and that thou wouldst work [to deliver me] from evil, that it be not my pain. And God brought about that which he asked.
11 Suba nuabarima Kelub woo Mehir. Mehir woo Eston.
And, Chelub the brother of Shuhah, begat Mehir, the same, was the father of Eshton.
12 Eston woo Bet-Rafa, Paseah ne Tehina. Tehina woo Ir-Nahas. Yeinom ne Reka asefoɔ.
And, Eshton, begat Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir-nahash. These, are the men of Recah.
13 Kenas mmammarima ne Otniel ne Seraia. Otniel mmammarima ne Hatat ne Meonotai.
And, the sons of Kenaz, were Othniel, and Seraiah, —and, the sons of Othniel, Hathath.
14 Meonotai woo Ofra. Na Seraia woo Yoab a ɔhyɛɛ Adwumfoɔ Bɔnhwa ase, ɛfiri sɛ, na adwumfoɔ pii tete hɔ.
And, Meonothai, begat Ophrah, —and, Seraiah, begat Joab, the father of Ge-harashim, for they were, craftsmen.
15 Na Yefune babarima Kaleb mmammarima yɛ Iru, Ela ne Naam. Na Ela babarima yɛ Kenas.
And, the sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh, were Iru, Elah, and Naam, —and the sons of Elah and Kenaz.
16 Yehalelel mmammarima ne Sif ne Sifa, Tiria ne Asarel.
And, the sons of Jehallelel, Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 Ɛsra mmammarima yɛ Yeter, Mered, Efer ne Yalon. Mered waree Misraimni baa ma ɔwoo Miriam, Samai ne Yisba a ɔbɛyɛɛ Estemoa agya no.
And, the sons of Ezrah, Jether and Mered, and Epher and Jalon. And, these, are the sons of Bithia, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took, —and she conceived and bare Miriam and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.
18 Mered nso waree ɔbaa a ɔfiri Yuda. Ɔno nso woo Yered a ɔbɛyɛɛ Gedor agya, Heber a ɔyɛ Soko agya, ne Yekutiel a ɔyɛ Sanoa agya. Na wɔfrɛ Mered yere Misraimni no Bitia a na ɔyɛ Misraimhene babaa.
And, his wife, the Jewess, bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah.
19 Na Hodia yere yɛ Naham nuabaa. Ne mmammarima no mu baako na ɔwoo Keila a ɔyɛ Garmini na ɔbaako nso woo Estemoa a ɔyɛ Maakatni.
And, the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the father of Keilah, the Garmite, —and Eshtemoa, the Maacathite.
20 Simon mmammarima ne Amnon, Rina, Ben-Hanan ne Tilon. Na Yisi asefoɔ no ne Sohet ne Ben-Sohet.
And, the sons of Shimon, Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan and Tilon. And, the sons of Ishi, Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.
21 Na Sela yɛ Yuda mma no mu baako. Na Sela asefoɔ no ne Er a ɔwoo Leka, Lada a ɔwoo Maresa a na wɔyɛ nweratam ho adwuma wɔ Bet-Asbea,
the sons of Shelah, the son of Judah, Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, —and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
22 Yokim, Koseba mmarima, Yoas, ne Saraf a na wɔdi Moab ne Yasubi-Lehem so no. Saa edin yi nyinaa, wɔnya firii tete atwerɛ a na wɔatwerɛ agu hɔ mu.
and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph who ruled for Moab, and Jashubi-lehem, —but, the records, are ancient.
23 Na wɔyɛ nkukuonwomfoɔ a na wɔte Netaim ne Gedera. Na wɔn nyinaa yɛ nnwuma ma ɔhene.
They, were the potters and the inhabitants of Netaim, and Gederah, —with the king in his work, dwelt they there.
24 Na Simeon mmammarima no edin de Nemuel, Yamin, Yarib, Serah ne Saulo.
The sons of Simeon, Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul:
25 Na Saulo asefoɔ yɛ Salum, Mibsam ne Misma.
Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
26 Na Misma asefoɔ yɛ Hamuel, Sakur ne Simei.
And, the sons of Mishma, Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
27 Simei woo mmammarima dunsia ne mmammaa baasia. Ne nuammarima no deɛ, na wɔn mu biara nni abusua kɛseɛ saa. Ɛno enti, Simeon abusua annɔre te sɛ Yuda abusua no.
And, Shimei, had sixteen sons, and six daughters, but, his brethren, had not many children, —nor did, any of their family, multiply so much as the sons of Judah.
28 Wɔtenaa Beer-Seba, Molada ne Hasar-Sual,
And they dwelt in Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-shual;
29 Bilha, Esem ne Tolad,
and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad;
30 Betuel, Horma ne Siklag,
and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag;
31 Bet-Markabot, Hasar-Susim, Bet-Biri ne Saaraim. Na saa nkuro yi nyinaa hyɛɛ wɔn ase kɔsii ɔhene Dawid berɛ so.
and in Beth-marcaboth, and in Hazar-susim, and in Beth-biri, and in Shaaraim. These, were their cities unto the reign of David.

And, their villages, were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, —five cities;
33 ne ne nkuraaseɛ a atwa ho ahyia no kɔsii Baal. Na wɔn atenaeɛ nie, na wɔahyehyɛ saa edin yi nyinaa wɔ wɔn abusuadua nkrataa mu.
and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These, were their habitations, and they had their own genealogical register.
34 Wɔn a wɔka Simeon asefoɔ ho no bi nso ne Mesobab, Yamlek ne Amasia babarima Yosa,
And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah;
35 Yoɛl, Yosibia babarima Yehu a ɔyɛ Seraia babarima, na ɔno nso yɛ Asiel babarima,
and Joel, —and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel:
36 Elioenai, Yaakoba, Yesohaia, Asaia, Adiel, Yesimiel ne Benaia,
and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah:
37 Sifi babarima Sisa a nʼagya yɛ Alon babarima, na ɔno yɛ Yedaia babarima, na ɔno nso yɛ Simri babarima a nʼagya yɛ Semaia.
and Ziza, son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.
38 Edin a yɛabobɔ yi yɛ ntuanofoɔ a wɔdeda Simeon mmusuakuo a wɔyɛ adefoɔ no ano no bi.
These, introduced by their names, were leading men in their families. And, their ancestral house, brake forth exceedingly;
39 Wɔkɔɔ Gedor fam a na ɛwɔ bɔnhwa no apueeɛ fam sɛ wɔrekɔpɛ asase pa ama wɔn mmoa adidi so.
so they went to the entering in of Gerar, unto the east of the valley, —to seek pasture for their flocks;
40 Wɔnyaa mmoa adidibea pa wɔ hɔ. Na asase no so dwo na basabasayɛ biara nni hɔ. Na Ham asefoɔ no bi akɔtena Gedor fa mu hɔ dada.
and they found pasture, fat and good, and, the land, was broad on both hands, and quiet, and secure, —for, of Ham, were the dwellers there aforetime.
41 Yudahene Hesekia ɛberɛ so no, Simeon ntuanofoɔ no ko dii hɔ so, sɛee Ham ne Maonfoɔ afie pasaa. Wɔkumm obiara a na ɔte hɔ, faa asase no, ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔpɛ sɛ wɔnya mmoa didibea pa no.
But these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim who were found there, and devoted them, until this day, and dwelt in their stead, —for there was pasture for their flocks, there.
42 Akofoɔ no mu ahanum a wɔfiri Simeon abusuakuo mu no kɔɔ bepɔ Seir so, a na Pelatia, Nearia, Refaia ne Usiel a wɔn nyinaa yɛ Yisi mmammarima no na na wɔdi wɔn anim.
And, some of them, of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, five hundred men, —with Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head;
43 Amalekfoɔ kakra a wɔkaeɛ no, wɔkunkumm wɔn nyinaa, faa hɔ, na wɔtenaa hɔ.
and they smote the remainder that had escaped, of the Amalekites, —and dwelt there—[as they have] unto this day.
