< Rut 3 >

1 Da bi Naomi ka kyerɛɛ Rut se, “Me babea, bere adu sɛ mehwehwɛ ofi a wobɛtena mu na wubenya nea ehia wo biara.
And Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
2 Boas yɛ yɛn busuani pɛɛ na wayɛ adɔe mmoroso sɛ wama wo ne nʼadwumayɛfo aboaboa atoko ano. Anadwo yi, obehuhuw atoko so wɔ awiporowbea hɔ.
And now is there not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to-night in the threshing-floor.
3 Enti yɛ nea merekyerɛ wo yi. Guare na tutu aduhuam gu wo ho na fa wo ntade pa bi hyɛ. Afei, kɔ awiporowbea hɔ, nanso mma Boas nhu wo kosi sɛ obedidi awie.
Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put on thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the threshing-floor: but make not thyself known to the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
4 Hwɛ na hu baabi a ɔda hɔ yiye, afei, kɔ na koyi ne nan ho nkataho na da hɔ. Ɔbɛka nea ɔpɛ sɛ woyɛ akyerɛ wo.”
And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.
5 Rut kae se, “Biribiara a wobɛka akyerɛ me sɛ menyɛ no, mɛyɛ.”
And she said unto her, All that thou sayest I will do.
6 Enti ɔkɔɔ awiporowbea hɔ anadwo no, na ɔyɛɛ nea nʼase kyerɛɛ no no mu biara.
And she went down unto the threshing-floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.
7 Boas didi wiee no a ne honhom aba ne ho no, ɔkyeaa ne ho too atoko mmoano no ho, na ɔfaa mu dae. Rut yɛɛ nwaa koyii ne nan ho nkataho na ɔdaa hɔ.
And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.
8 Anadwo dasum no, Boas bɔɔ pitiri dan ne ho. Ɛyɛɛ no nwonwa sɛ ohuu sɛ ɔbea da ne nan ase.
And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.
9 Obisae se, “Na hena ni?” Obuae se, “Ɛyɛ me wo somfo Rut. Trɛw wo nkataso no mu kakra gu me so na woyɛ mʼabusua gyefo.”
And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
10 Na Boas kae se, “Awurade nhyira wo, me babea! Worekyerɛ abusua dɔ a bi mmaa da sɛ woankodi aberantewa bi akyi, sɛ ɔwɔ sika anaa ɔyɛ ohiani.
And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
11 Afei, me babea, mma hwee nhaw wo. Mɛyɛ nea ehia wo nyinaa. Me kurow yi mu nnipa nyinaa nim sɛ woyɛ ɔbea a wudi wo ho ni.
And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou sayest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
12 Nanso akwanside baako wɔ hɔ. Ɛyɛ nokware turodoo sɛ meyɛ mo abusua agyefo mu baako de, nanso ɔbarima foforo bi wɔ hɔ a ɔyɛ obusuani titiriw sen me.
And now it is true that I am a near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.
13 Tena ha anadwo yi na sɛ ade kye a, me ne no bɛkasa. Sɛ ɛyɛ ne pɛ sɛ obegye wo a, ɛno de ma ho kwan na ɔnware wo. Na sɛ ɛnyɛ ne pɛ nso a, ɛno de, ɔkwan biara so, sɛ Awurade te ase yi, mɛware wo! Enti da ha ma ade nkye.”
Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman’s part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.
And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could discern another. For he said, Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing-floor.
15 Boas toaa so kae se, “Fa wʼatade nguguso no bra na trɛw mu.” Ɔsesaw atoko no susukoraa asia guu mu na ɔboaa no ma ɔde hyɛɛ nʼakyi. Na Boas san kɔɔ kurow no mu.
And he said, Bring the mantle that is upon thee, and hold it; and she held it: and he measured six [measures] of barley, and laid it on her: and he went into the city.
16 Rut baa nʼase Naomi nkyɛn no, obisaa no se, “Me babea, ekosii dɛn?” Rut kaa biribiara a Boas yɛ maa no no kyerɛɛ Naomi,
And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
17 na ɔtoaa so se, “Ɔmaa me atoko susukoraa asia kae se, ‘Mfa nsapan nkɔ wʼase nkyɛn.’”
And she said, These six [measures] of barley gave he me; for he said, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.
18 Afei, Naomi kae se, “Me ba, twɛn kosi sɛ wubehu nea ebesi. Ɔbarima no renna so kosi sɛ asɛm no besi nnɛ yi ara.”
Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
