< Romafo 3 >
1 Ɛno de, na Yudaniyɛ so mfaso ne dɛn, anaasɛ twetiatwa so wɔ mfaso bi?
What then is the advantage of the Jew? or what the benefit of circumcision?
2 Yiw mfaso wɔ so. Nea edi kan no, Onyankopɔn de ne nsɛm ahyɛ wɔn nsa.
Great, every way. In the first place, because they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
3 Na sɛ ebinom nni gyidi ɛ? Gyidi a wonni no kyerɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn nyɛ ɔnokwafo ana?
For what? If some were unfaithful, shall their unfaithfulness make God unfaithful?
4 Ɛnte saa koraa! Sɛ obiara yɛ ɔtorofo a, Onyankopɔn de, ɔyɛ ɔnokwafo, sɛnea wɔakyerɛw se, “Wudi bem wɔ wo kasa mu na woteɛ wɔ wʼatemmu mu.”
Far be it! yea, let God be true, and every man a liar; as it is written, “That thou mayst be justified in thy words, and mayst overcome when thou art arraigned.”
5 Na obi bɛka se, “Sɛ yɛn bɔne a yɛyɛ no da Onyankopɔn trenee adi kann a, adɛn nti na ɛsɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn abufuwhyew ba yɛn so?” (Merekasa sɛ onipa)
But if our unrighteousness serve to display the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicteth punishment? (I am speaking as men do.)
6 Dabi da! Sɛ Onyankopɔn nyɛ ɔtreneeni a, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na watumi abu wiase atɛn?
Far be it! For then how shall God judge the world?
7 Obi begye akyinnye aka se, “Sɛ me nkontompo ma Onyankopɔn nokware da adi na nʼanuonyam boro so a, ɛno de, adɛn nti na Onyankopɔn bu me fɔ sɛ ɔdebɔneyɛni?”
For if, through my being false, the truth of God hath been more abundantly manifested to his glory, why am I still judged as a sinner?
8 Ebinom nso bɛka se, “Ɛno de, momma yɛnyɛ bɔne sɛnea biribi pa befi mu aba!” Nnipa bi mpo ka se saa asɛm yi na yɛka. Onyankopɔn bebu wɔn atɛn.
And why do you not say, as some slanderously charge us with saying, Let us do evil, that good may come? The condemnation of such men is just.
9 Afei, dɛn na yɛnka? Yɛn Yudafo yɛ nnipa sen amanamanmufo no ana? Ɛnte saa! Makyerɛ mu dedaw sɛ Yudafo ne amanamanmufo nyinaa yɛ pɛ wɔ bɔne tumi ase.
What then? Are we better than others? By no means! For we have already brought a charge both against Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.
10 Sɛnea Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Obiara nyɛ ɔtreneeni;
As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 obiara nyɛ ɔbadwemma; na obiara nni hɔ a ɔhwehwɛ Onyankopɔn akyi kwan.
there is none that hath understanding, there is none that diligently seeketh God;
12 Nnipa nyinaa atwe wɔn ho afi Onyankopɔn ho; wɔn nyinaa ayɛ bɔne. Obiara nni hɔ a ɔyɛ papa. Ɔbaako mpo nni hɔ.”
they have all turned aside from the right way, they have become worthless together; there is none that doeth good, not even one.
13 “Wɔn anom te sɛ ɔda a abue; na wɔn tɛkrɛma ka nnaadaasɛm.” “Wɔn anofafa ka nsɛm a ɛte sɛ ɔwɔ ano bɔre.
Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have practised deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips.
14 Nnome a ɛyɛ hu na efi wɔn anom ba.”
Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
15 “Wɔnam awudi so pira afoforo ntɛm.
Swift are their feet to shed blood;
16 Wɔde ɔsɛe ne awerɛhow ba,
destruction and misery are in their ways;
17 na wonnim asomdwoe kwan.”
and the way of peace they know not.
18 “Na wonsuro Onyankopɔn.”
There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Yenim sɛ biribiara a ɛwɔ mmara no mu no, wɔkyerɛw maa wɔn a wɔhyɛ mmara no tumi ase. Mmara no ka eyinom sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a obiara rennya anoyi, na ama Onyankopɔn akyerɛ sɛ wiase nyinaa di fɔ.
Now we know that whatever the Law saith, it saith to those who are under the Law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world become subject to condemnation before God.
20 Efisɛ obiara nni hɔ a sɛ ɔyɛ nea mmara no hyɛ sɛ ɔnnyɛ a, Onyankopɔn bebu no bem. Nea mmara no yɛ ara ne sɛ, ɛma onipa hu sɛ wayɛ bɔne.
Because by works of the Law no flesh shall be accepted as righteous: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.
21 Wɔada treneeyɛ a efi Onyankopɔn, na emfi mmara no adi. Ɛno na mmara no ne Adiyifo no di ho adanse.
But now, apart from the Law, the righteousness which is of God, to which the Law and the Prophets bear testimony,
22 Saa treneeyɛ a efi Onyankopɔn yi nam gyidi a yɛwɔ wɔ Yesu Kristo mu. Ɛwɔ hɔ ma agyidifo nyinaa. Nsonoe biara nni mu.
even the righteousness which is of God through faith in Jesus Christ, hath been made manifest to all and for all believers. For there is no distinction.
23 Na nnipa nyinaa ayɛ bɔne ama Onyankopɔn anuonyam abɔ wɔn,
For all have sinned, and fail of obtaining the glory which cometh from God;
24 nanso ɔnam Kristo adom nkwagye no so abu wɔn nyinaa bem.
being accepted as righteous freely, by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25 Onyankopɔn somaa Kristo sɛ ɔmfa ne ho mmɛbɔ afɔre mma yɛn. Kristo de ne mogya mae, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a gyidi a yebenya wɔ ne mu nti wobegye yɛn. Saa afɔre yi ma yehu sɛ, mmere a atwa mu no, Onyankopɔn nam boasetɔ ne adom so de bɔne kyɛe.
whom, in his blood, through faith, God hath set forth as a propitiatory sacrifice, in order to manifest his righteousness, on account of his passing by, in his forbearance, the sins committed in former times;
26 Efisɛ na Onyankopɔn rehwɛ kwan na ɔde wɔn abɛka nea ɔreyɛ saa bere yi no ho. Onyankopɔn yɛɛ eyi de kyerɛɛ ne trenee, efisɛ ɔno ankasa nyɛ nyiyimu, na obu atɛntrenee nso, na sɛ nnebɔneyɛfo gye Yesu di a, obu wɔn sɛ wɔteɛ wɔ nʼani so.
in order to manifest his righteousness at the present time, so that he may be righteous, and accept as righteous him who hath faith.
27 Ɛno de, na ahohoahoa wɔ he? Biribiara nni hɔ! Na adɛn nti? Mmara no a yedi so no nti na wagye yɛn anaa? Dabi. Gye a ogye yɛn no nnyina mmara a yedi so, na mmom, egyina gyidi a yɛwɔ wɔ Yesu mu.
Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay; but by the law of faith.
28 Ne tiaatwa ne sɛ, wɔnam gyidi so na wobu onipa bem, na ɛnyɛ mmara a odi so no nti.
We conclude therefore, that a man is accepted as righteous through faith, without the works of the Law.
29 Onyankopɔn yɛ Yudafo nko ara Nyankopɔn ana? Ɔnyɛ amanamanmufo nso Nyankopɔn bi ana? Ɛyɛ nokware turodoo sɛ ɔyɛ amanamanmufo nso Nyankopɔn.
Or is God [[the God]] of Jews alone? Is he not also the God of gentiles? Yea, of gentiles also.
30 Onyankopɔn yɛ baako, na ɔnam gyidi nko ara a Yudafo wɔ so bebu wɔn bem. Na saa ara nso na ɔnam gyidi nko ara so bebu amanamanmufo bem.
Seeing there is but one God, who will accept the circumcised as righteous by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.
31 Enti eyi kyerɛ sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ yɛfa saa gyidi no so gyae Mmara no so di ana? Dabi da, na mmom, sɛ yɛwɔ gyidi a, yɛfoa Mmara no adanse so.
Do we then make void the Law through faith? Far be it! On the contrary, we establish the Law.
