< Romafo 13 >

1 Ɛsɛ sɛ obiara brɛ ne ho ase ma tumi a ɛwɔ ɔman no mu, efisɛ tumi biara nni hɔ a emfi Onyankopɔn pɛ mu. Tumi biara a ɛwɔ hɔ no fi Onyankopɔn.
Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but from God: the authorities that are, have been appointed by God.
2 Obiara a ɔne tumi a ɛwɔ hɔ no di asi no tia nea Onyankopɔn ahyehyɛ. Na obiara a ɔbɛyɛ saa no de atemmu ba nʼankasa so.
Therefore, he that resists the authority, resists the appointment of God; and those who resist shall receive to themselves condemnation.
3 Wɔn a wɔyɛ papa no nsuro atumfo, na mmom wɔn a wɔyɛ amumɔyɛ no na wosuro atumfo. Wopɛ sɛ woyɛ obi a onsuro nea tumi wɔ ne nsam ana? Ɛno de, yɛ nea ɛteɛ na ɔbɛkamfo wo.
For rulers are not a terror to works that are good, but to those which are evil. Will you, then, not be afraid of the authority? Do that which is good, and you shall receive praise from the same.
4 Efisɛ ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn somfo a wo yiyedi mu nti na ɔyɛ adwuma. Na sɛ woyɛ bɔne a, suro no efisɛ ne tumi a ɔde twe aso no da hɔ fann. Ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn somfo, enti ɔnam Onyankopɔn abufuw so twe wɔn a wɔyɛ bɔne no aso.
For he is the minister of God to you for that which is good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain. For he is the minister of God to inflict punishment on him that does evil.
5 Esiane saa nti, ɛsɛ sɛ wobrɛ wo ho ase ma tumi, a ɛnyɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn abufuw no nti, na mmom, esiane nim a wunim sɛ ɛsɛ sɛ woyɛ no nti.
Wherefore, it is necessary to be subject, not only because of punishment, but also for conscience sake.
6 Eyi nti na ɛsɛ sɛ wutua tow, efisɛ sɛ atumfo no yɛ wɔn adwuma a, wɔyɛ ma Onyankopɔn.
On this very account, too, pay tribute also: for they are the public servants of God, attending continually to this very thing.
7 Enti tua ka a wode wɔn; tua ka a wode; sɛ ɛyɛ wo honam mu ka anaasɛ ɛyɛ agyapade ho ka, na fa obu ne nidi ma wɔn nyinaa.
Render, therefore, to all their dues; tribute, to whom tribute is due; custom, to whom custom; fear, to whom fear; honor, to whom honor is due.
8 Nne obiara ka. Ka a ɛsɛ sɛ wode ara ne sɛ wobɛdɔ afoforo. Obiara a ɔdɔ ne yɔnko nnipa no adi mmara no so.
Owe no one any thing, except to love one another; for he that loves another, has fulfilled the law.
9 Mmaransɛm a ɛka se, “Nsɛe aware, nni awu, mmɔ korɔn, mma wʼani mmere ade,” eyinom ne nea ɛkeka ho nyinaa tiaatwa ara ne sɛ, “Dɔ wo yɔnko sɛ wo ho.”
For these commandments: You shall not commit adultery, you shall not kill, you shall not steal, you shall not indulge evil desire; and if there is any other commandment, all are summed up in this saying, namely: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
10 Obiara a ɔdɔ ne yɔnko no nyɛ no bɔne. Sɛ wodɔ wo yɔnko a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ woadi mmara no nyinaa so.
Love works no evil to our neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
11 Ɛsɛ sɛ woyɛ eyi, efisɛ wunim dɔn ko a yɛwɔ mu. Bere adu sɛ wosɔre fi wo nna mu. Efisɛ bere a ɛsɛ sɛ wogye yɛn nkwa no abɛn sen bere a yegye dii kan no.
And do this, because you know the time, that the hour has already come when we should awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed:
12 Adesae retwa mu, na adekyee reyɛ abɛn yɛn. Enti, momma yennyae nneɛma a ɛyɛ sum de no yɛ, na momfa akode a wɔde ko wɔ hann mu no.
the night is far advanced, the day draws near. Let us, therefore, put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
13 Momma yɛmmɔ yɛn bra yiye te sɛ nnipa a wɔte hann no mu a agobɔne anaa nsabow, aguamammɔ anaa ahohwi, ɔko anaa anibere nni mu.
Let us walk in a becoming manner, as in the day; not in riotings and in drunkenness, not in lewdness and in wantonness, not in contention and in envy:
14 Momma Awurade Yesu Kristo mmɛn mo te sɛ ntama a mufura, na morempɛ sɛ mobɛyɛ nea ɔhonam pɛ.
but put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.
