< Nnwom 90 >
1 Onyankopɔn nipa Mose mpaebɔ. Awurade, wo na woayɛ yɛn tenabea awo ntoatoaso nyinaa mu.
A Prayer by Moses, the Man of God. Lord! a dwelling-place, hast, thou, become to us, From generation to generation:
2 Ansa na wɔrebɛbɔ mmepɔw anaasɛ worebɛda asase ne wiase adi no, na woyɛ Onyankopɔn fi mmeresanten kosi mmeresanten.
Before, the mountains, were born, Or thou hadst brought forth the earth and the world, Even, from age to age, thou, [wast] GOD.
3 Woma adesamma san dan mfutuma, ka se, “Mo adesamma, monsan nkɔ mfutuma mu.”
Thou causest man to return unto dust, And hast said—Return, ye sons of Adam!
4 Mfirihyia apem yɛ wʼani so sɛ da koro a abɛsen mprempren, anaasɛ anadwo mu dɔnhwerew kakraa bi.
For, a thousand years, in thine eyes, [are], As yesterday, in that it passed away, Or [as] a watch in the night.
5 Wopra nnipa kɔ, wɔ owu nna mu; wɔte sɛ sare a afefɛw anɔpa,
Thou hast snatched them away, A sleep, do they become, In the morning, [they are] like grass that shooteth up,
6 ɛfefɛw yɛ frɔmfrɔm anɔpa de, nanso anwummere ɛwo na etwintwam.
In the morning, it sprouteth and shooteth up, By the evening, it is cut down and withered.
7 Yɛresa wɔ wʼabufuw ano na wʼanibere abɔ yɛn hu.
For we are consumed in thine anger, And, in thy wrath, are we dismayed;
8 Wode yɛn amumɔyɛ asi wʼanim, na yɛn kokoa mu bɔne da wʼanim hann no mu.
Thou hast set, Our iniquities before thee, Our secret near the luminary of thy face.
9 Yɛn nna nyinaa twa mu wɔ wʼabufuwhyew mu; na yɛde awerɛhowdi na ewie yɛn mfe.
For, all our days, decline in thy wrath, —We end our years like a sigh.
10 Yɛn nkwa nna si mfe aduɔson, anaasɛ aduɔwɔtwe, sɛ yɛwɔ ahoɔden a; na mu ahohoahoade yɛ ɔhaw ne awerɛhow, na etwa mu ntɛmntɛm, na yetu kɔ.
The days of our years, have, in them, three score years and ten, And, if, by reason of strength, they have fourscore years, Yet, their boast, is labour and sorrow, For it hath passed quickly, and we have flown away.
11 Sɛ anka yebehu sɛ wʼabufuw mu tumi te ɛ! Wʼabufuwhyew kɛse te sɛnea wo ho suro te.
Who knoweth the strength of thine anger? Even, according to the fear of thee, is thy wrath!
12 Ma yenhu yɛn nna kan sɛnea ɛte, na yɛanya nyansa koma.
How to number our days, so grant us to know, That we may win us a heart that hath wisdom.
13 Tɔ wo bo ase, Awurade, enkosi da bɛn? Hu wʼasomfo mmɔbɔ.
Return, Yahweh, oh how long? And have compassion upon thy servants;
14 Ma wʼadɔe a ɛnsa da no mmee yɛn adekyee mu, na yɛde anigye ato dwom adi ahurusi yɛn nna nyinaa mu.
Satisfy us, in the morning, with thy lovingkindness, That we may shout aloud and be glad, Throughout all our days.
15 Ma yɛn ani nnye nna bebree sɛ nna dodow a wode yɛn kɔɔ amanehunu mu no, sɛ mfirihyia dodow a yehuu ateetee no.
Make us glad, according to, The days thou hast humbled us, The years we have seen misfortune:
16 Ma wʼasomfo nhu wo nneyɛe na wɔn mma nhu wʼanuonyam.
Let thy work, appear unto thy servants, And, thy majesty, upon their children;
17 Ma Awurade yɛn Nyankopɔn adom no ntena yɛn so; na yɛn nsa ano adwuma nyɛ yiye mma yɛn; yiw, ma yɛn nsa ano adwuma nyɛ yiye.
And let the delightfulness of Adonay our God be upon us, —And, the work of our hands, establish thou upon us, Yea, the work of our hands, establish thou it.
