< Nnwom 89 >
1 Esrahini Etan ɔhaw ne amanehunu dwom. Mɛto Awurade adɔe ho dwom daa daa; mede mʼano bɛda wo nokwaredi adi awo ntoatoaso nyinaa mu.
A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing evermore of the love of the Lord, proclaiming to all generations his faithfulness.
2 Mɛka se wʼadɔe no tim hɔ daa nyinaa, na woatim wo nokwaredi wɔ ɔsoro hɔ ankasa.
For your love you did promise to build up forever, your faithfulness firm as the heavens themselves.
3 Wokae se, “Mene onipa a mayi no no ayɛ apam; maka ntam akyerɛ me somfo Dawid.
“I have made with my chosen a covenant, and sworn to David my servant,
4 ‘Mɛma wʼase atim hɔ daa na wʼahengua nso atim wɔ awo ntoantoaso nyinaa mu.’”
to establish his seed forever, and to build up his throne to all ages.” (Selah)
5 Awurade, ɔsorosorofo kamfo wʼanwonwade, na wo nokwaredi nso, wɔkamfo wɔ ahotefo asafo mu.
Then the holy assembly in heaven praised your marvelous faithfulness, Lord.
6 Na hena na ɔne wo Awurade sɛ wɔ ɔsoro hɔ? Hena na ɔte sɛ Awurade wɔ ɔsoro abɔde mu?
For who in the skies may compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the gods?
7 Akronkronfo agyinatufo mu, wosuro Onyankopɔn; wɔde osuro kɛse ma Onyankopɔn wɔ akronkronfo nhyiamu ase.
A God to be feared in the holy assembly, awful and great above all who are round him.
8 Asafo Awurade Nyankopɔn, hena na ɔte sɛ wo? Wo, Awurade, woyɛ ɔkɛse na wo nokwaredi atwa wo ho ahyia.
O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you? Your strength and faithfulness, Lord, surround you.
9 Wudi po a ɛworo no so; nʼasorɔkye bobɔ kɔ soro a, wobrɛ no ase.
You are the Lord of the raging sea: when its waves surge, it is you who still them.
10 Wodwerɛw Rahab sɛ atɔfo no mu baako; wode wo basa dennen no bɔɔ wʼatamfo pansamee.
It was you who did pierce and crush Rahab in pieces, and scatter your foes by your mighty arm.
11 Ɔsoro wɔ wo, na asase nso wɔ wo; wiase ne nea ɛwɔ mu nyinaa wo na wufii ase.
Yours are the heavens, yours also the earth, the world and its fulness, it’s you who did found them.
12 Wobɔɔ atifi ne anafo. Tabor ne Hermon de ahosɛpɛw to dwom ma wo din.
The north and the south, it’s you have created them; Tabor and Hermon shout praise to your name.
13 Tumi ayɛ wo basa ma; wo nsam wɔ ahoɔden, woama wo nsa nifa so.
You have an arm with the might of a hero; strong is your hand, high uplifted your right hand.
14 Wʼahengua no fapem yɛ trenee ne atɛntrenee; adɔe ne nokwaredi di wʼanim.
Justice and right are the base of your throne, kindness and faithfulness ever attend you.
15 Nhyira nka wɔn a wɔasua sɛnea wɔbɔ wo abodin, wɔn a wɔnantew wʼanim hann no mu, Awurade.
Happy the people who know the glad shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face.
16 Wogye wɔn ani wɔ wo din mu da mu nyinaa; wodi ahurusi wɔ wo trenee mu.
They exult in your name all the day, and your righteousness they extol.
17 Wone wɔn anuonyam ne ahoɔden, na wʼadom nti yɛyɛ nkonimdifo.
For you are our strength and our pride. Your favor will lift us to honor.
18 Ampa ara, yɛn kyɛm wɔ Awurade, na yɛn hene wɔ Israel Kronkronni no.
For the holy Lord of Israel keeps our defender and king.
19 Da bi wokasaa wɔ anisoadehu mu, kyerɛɛ wʼahotefo se, “Madom ɔkofo bi ahoɔden; mapagyaw aberante bi afi nnipa no mu.
In a vision of old you did speak in this way to the one whom you loved: “A crown I have set on the hero I chose to be over the people
20 Mahu Dawid, me somfo; mede me ngo kronkron no asra no.
“I found my servant David, and anointed with holy oil.
21 Me nsa bɛwowaw no; ampa ara me basa bɛhyɛ no den.
My hand will be with him forever, my arm will give him strength.
22 Ɔtamfo biara renhyɛ no sɛ ontua tow; omumɔyɛfo biara rentumi nhyɛ no so.
“No enemy will dare to assail him, nor the wicked to oppress him;
23 Mɛdwerɛw nʼatamfo wɔ nʼanim na mabobɔ nʼahohiahiafo ahwe fam.
but his foes I will shatter before him, I will strike down those who hate him.
24 Me nokware adɔe bɛka ne ho, na me din mu, wɔbɛma nʼabɛn so.
“My loyal love shall attend him, and I will lift him to honor.
25 Mɛtrɛw nʼahye mu akosi po so, na ɔde ne nsa nifa bɛto nsubɔnten so.
I will set his hand on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
26 Ɔbɛfrɛ me aka se, ‘Wone mʼagya, me Nyankopɔn, me nkwagye botan.’
“As for him, he will call me ‘My father, my God, and my rock of salvation.’
27 Mɛyɛ no mʼabakan, asase so ahene nyinaa no mu ɔkɛse.
And I will make him my firstborn, highest of kings on the earth.
28 Mɛma mʼadɔe a mewɔ ma no no atena hɔ daa, na apam a me ne no ayɛ nso bɛtena hɔ daa.
“My love will I keep for him ever, my covenant with him shall stand fast.
29 Mɛma nʼase atim afebɔɔ, nʼahengua nso betim hɔ akosi sɛ ɔsoro betwa mu.
His line will I make everlasting, and his throne as the days of the heavens.
30 “Sɛ ne mmabarima po me mmara na sɛ wɔanni mʼahyɛde so,
“If his children forsake my law, and walk not as I have ordained;
31 sɛ wobu mʼahyɛde so na sɛ wɔanni me hyɛ nsɛm so a,
if they profane my statutes, and do not keep my commandments;
32 ɛno de mede abaa bɛtwe wɔn aso wɔ wɔn bɔne ho na wɔn amumɔyɛ nso mede mmaatwa atwe wɔn aso;
“I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with scourges.
33 Nanso merennyae mʼadɔe a meyɛ ma no no na mɛkɔ so adi no nokware.
But my love will I not take from him, nor will I belie my faithfulness.
34 Meremmu mʼapam no so na merensesa nea mede mʼano aka no.
“I will not profane my covenant by changing the word that has passed my lips.
35 Menam me din kronkron no so aka ntam prɛko, na merentwa Dawid atoro da,
Once have I solemnly sworn and I would not lie to David,
36 meremma nʼase ntɔre da na nʼahengua nso betim wɔ mʼanim te sɛ owia;
“that his line should endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me,
37 ebetim hɔ daa te sɛ ɔsram, ɔdanseni nokwafo a ɔwɔ wim no.”
firm as the moon which for ever and ever is fixed in the sky.” (Selah)
38 Nanso woapo no, woapa nʼakyi, wo bo afuw nea woasra no ngo no.
But you have cast off in contempt, and been furious with your anointed.
39 Woagu apam a wo ne wo somfo pamee no, woagu nʼahenkyɛw ho fi wɔ mfutuma mu.
You have spurned the covenant with your servant, and his sacred crown dashed to the ground.
40 Woabubu nʼafasu nyinaa ama nʼabandennen adan nnwiriwii.
You have broken down all his walls, and laid his bulwarks in ruins.
41 Wɔn a wotwa mu wɔ hɔ nyinaa fow no fa; na wayɛ aniwude ama ne mfɛfo.
All who pass on their way despoil him, the scorn of his neighbors is he now.
42 Woama nʼatamfo nsa nifa so; ama wɔn nyinaa di ahurusi.
You have given his foes the victory, and made all his enemies glad.
43 Woama nʼafoa ayɛ ɔkwa, na woannyina nʼakyi wɔ ɔko mu.
You have turned back his sword from the foe, you did not lift him up in the battle.
44 Wode nʼanuonyam aba awiei na woatow nʼahengua akyene fam.
The sceptre you took from his hand, and his throne you did hurl to the ground.
45 Woatwa ne mmerantebere nna so na wode animguase nguguso akata no so.
You have shortened the days of his youth, and covered him with shame. (Selah)
46 Awurade, enkosi da bɛn? Na wode wo ho behintaw? Wʼabufuwhyew bɛkɔ so adɛw akosi da bɛn?
How long, Lord will you hide you forever? How long are the fires of your wrath to burn?
47 Kae sɛnea me nkwanna twa mu ntɛm so. Efisɛ woabɔ yɛn nyinaa sɛ ade a etwa mu ntɛm so!
Remember, Lord, the shortness of life how fleeting you made all people.
48 Hena na ɔbɛtena ase a ɔrenwu da? Anaasɛ hena na obetumi agye ne ho afi owu tumi nsam? (Sheol )
Who can live without seeing death? Who can rescue their life from the clutch of Sheol? (Selah) (Sheol )
49 Awurade, ɛhe na wo tete adɔe kɛse no wɔ, nea wufi wo nokwaredi mu de kaa ntam kyerɛɛ Dawid no?
Where, Lord, is your kindness of old, which you in your faithfulness swore to David?
50 Kae, Awurade, sɛnea wɔadi wo somfo ho fɛw ne sɛnea manya koma ama amanaman no akutiabɔ,
Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, how I bear in my heart the scorn of all nations
51 Awurade, akutiabɔ a wʼatamfo de adi fɛw de adi nea woasra no ngo no anammɔntu biara ho fɛw.
The scorn which your enemies hurl, O Lord, which they hurl at the footsteps of your anointed.
52 Ayeyi nka Awurade daa!
Blest be the Lord, for ever and ever. Amen and Amen.
