“To the chief musician upon Shoshannim; an 'Eduth by Assaph; a psalm.” O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
2 wɔ Efraim, Benyamin ne Manase anim. Kanyan wo tumi; bra begye yɛn nkwa.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Menasseh awaken thy might, and come to our help.
3 Ao Onyankopɔn, gye yɛn bio; ma wʼanim nhyerɛn yɛn so, na wɔagye yɛn nkwa.
O God, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
4 Asafo Awurade Nyankopɔn, wʼabufuw bɛdɛw akosi da bɛn, wʼabufuw a etia wo nkurɔfo mpaebɔ no?
O Lord of hosts, how long shall thy anger smoke against the prayer of thy people?
5 Wode nusu yɛɛ aduan maa wɔn dii; wode nusu kuruwama maa wɔn nomee.
Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Wode yɛn ayɛ nea yɛn mfɛfo ko ho, na yɛn atamfo serew yɛn.
Thou renderest us a contest unto our neighbors: and our enemies hold derision among themselves.
7 Asafo Nyankopɔn, gye yɛn bio; ma wʼanim nhyerɛn wɔ yɛn so, na wɔagye yɛn nkwa.
O God of hosts, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
8 Wutuu bobe fi Misraim beduae; wopam amanaman no na wuduae.
A vine didst thou remove out of Egypt: thou drovest out nations, and plantedst it.
9 Wosiesiee asase no baabi maa no, egyee ntin na ɛtrɛw asase no so.
Thou didst clear out a place before it, and it struck its root deeply, and it filled the land.
10 Ne nwini kataa mmepɔw no so ne mman kataa sida akɛse no so.
Mountains were covered with its shadow, and with its boughs the cedars of God.
11 Ɛdennan trɛw kɔɔ Po no so, na ɛfefɛw trɛw koduu Asubɔnten no ho.
It sent out its tendrils as far as the sea, and unto the river its suckers.
12 Adɛn nti na woabubu nʼafasu ama wɔn a wotwa mu wɔ hɔ no tetew ne bobe aba no?
Wherefore hast thou now broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way pluck the fruit from it?
13 Kɔkɔte fi wuram bɛsɛe no pasaa na mmoadoma a wɔwɔ sare so de yɛ wɔn aduan.
The boar out of the forest doth gnaw at it, and what moveth on the field feedeth on it.
14 Asafo Nyankopɔn, san bra yɛn nkyɛn! fi ɔsoro hɔ hwɛ na wubehu! Hwɛ saa bobe yi so,
O God of hosts, return; I pray thee, look down from heaven, and behold, and think of this vine;
15 ntin a wo nsa nifa adua no, ɔbabarima a woatetew no ama wo ho no.
And of the sprout which thy right hand hath planted, and of the branch that thou hast made strong for thyself.
16 Wɔatwa wo bobe no ato fam, ato mu gya ama ahyew; wʼanimka ma wo nkurɔfo ase tɔre.
It is burnt with fire, it is hewn down; because of the rebuke of thy countenance do they perish.
17 Fa wo nsa kata ɔbarima a ɔwɔ wo nifa no so, onipa ba a woatetew no ama wo ho no.
Let thy hand be over the man of thy right hand, over the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself.
18 Afei yɛrentwe yɛn ho mfi wo nkyɛn; kanyan yɛn, na yɛbɛbɔ wo din.
Then will we not swerve from thee: revive us again, and we will call on thy name.
19 Asafo Awurade Nyankopɔn, gye yɛn bio, na ma wʼanim nhyerɛn yɛn so, na wɔagye yɛn nkwa. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo sɛ wɔnto sɛ “gittit” sanku nne so.
O Lord God of hosts, cause us to return: let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
