< Nnwom 79 >
1 Asaf dwom. Ao Onyankopɔn, amanaman no atow ahyɛ wʼagyapade so; wɔagu wʼasɔredan kronkron no ho fi, wɔama Yerusalem adan nnwiriwii.
A Melody of Asaph. O God, nations, Have entered thine inheritance, Have profaned thy holy temple, —Have laid Jerusalem in heaps:
2 Wɔde wʼasomfo afunu ayɛ aduan ama wim nnomaa, na wɔde wʼahotefo nam ama asase so mmoa.
They have given, The dead bodies of thy servants, As food for the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy men of lovingkindness, Unto the wild beast of the earth:
3 Wɔahwie mogya agu te sɛ nsu wɔ Yerusalem ho nyinaa, na obiara nni hɔ a obesie awufo no.
They have poured out their blood like water, Round about Jerusalem, With none to bury.
4 Yɛayɛ animtiaabude ama yɛn mfɛfo, fɛwdi ne nsopa ama wɔn a wɔatwa yɛn ho ahyia.
We have become, A reproach to our neighbours, —A mockery and a derision, to them who are round about us.
5 Awurade, enkosi da bɛn? Wo bo befuw afebɔɔ ana? Wo ninkunu bɛdɛw sɛ ogya akosi da bɛn?
How long, O Yahweh, wilt thou be angry utterly? Shall thy jealousy, burn like fire?
6 Hwie wʼabufuw gu amanaman a wonnye wo nto mu no so, ahenni a wɔmmɔ wo din no;
Pour out thy wrath, Upon the nations that have not known thee—and, Upon the kingdoms that, on thy Name, have not called.
7 efisɛ wɔakum Yakob na wɔasɛe nʼatenae.
For he hath devoured Jacob, —And, his dwelling-place, have they laid waste.
8 Mfa yɛn agyanom bɔne so asotwe mma yɛn; ma wo mmɔborɔhunu mmra yɛn so ntɛm, na yɛwɔ ahohiahia mu.
Do not remember against us former iniquities, —Haste thee, let thy compassions, come to meet us, For we have been brought very low!
9 Onyankopɔn yɛn Agyenkwa, boa yɛn, wo din no anuonyam nti; gye yɛn na fa yɛn bɔne kyɛ yɛn wo din nti.
Help us, O God of our salvation, on account of the glory of thy Name, —Rescue us then, and put a propitiatory-covering over our sins, For the sake of thy Name.
10 Adɛn nti na ɛsɛ sɛ amanaman ka se, “Wɔn Nyankopɔn wɔ he?” Yɛn anim ha ara, ma wonhu wɔ amanaman mu sɛ wotɔ wʼasomfo mogya a wɔahwie agu no so werɛ.
Wherefore should the nations say—Where is their God? Let him be known among the nations before our eyes! [Yea! By] the avenging of the blood of thy servants which hath been shed!
11 Ma nneduafo no apinisi nnu wʼanim; fa wo basa ahoɔden no kora wɔn a wɔabu wɔn kumfɔ no.
Let the groaning of the prisoner, come in before thee, —According to the greatness of thine arm, Set free them who are appointed to death.
12 Awurade, ahohora a yɛn mfɛfo asum agu wo so no, tua wɔn so ka mpɛn ason.
Return, therefore, unto our neighbours—Sevenfold, into their own bosom, The reproach wherewith they have reproached thee, O Adonay!
13 Na yɛn a yɛyɛ wo nkurɔfo, wʼadidibea nguan no, beyi wo ayɛ daa nyinaa; efi awo ntoatoaso kosi awo ntoatoaso, yɛbɛkɔ so aka wʼayeyi akyerɛ.
So, we, thy people, and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks unto thee, to times age-abiding, —To generation after generation, will we recount thy praise.
