1 Me Nyankopɔn, bu me bem, na ka mʼasɛm a etia ɔman a wonsuro wo no ma me; gye me fi nnaadaafo ne amumɔyɛfo nsam.
God, please vindicate me! Plead my case against an unfaithful nation; save me from these wicked and dishonest people.
2 Woyɛ Onyankopɔn, mʼabandennen. Adɛn nti na woapo me? Adɛn nti na ɛsɛ sɛ menantenantew twa adwo mʼatamfo nhyɛso nti?
For you, God, are my protection—so why have you turned your back on me? Why must I go around weeping because of the attacks of my enemies?
3 Soma wo hann ne wo nokware ma wɔnkyerɛ me kwan; ma wɔmfa me mmra wo Bepɔw Kronkron no so, faako a wote no.
Send your light and your truth so they can guide me; let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.
4 Afei, mɛkɔ Onyankopɔn afɔremuka anim, mʼanigye ne mʼahosɛpɛw Nyankopɔn nkyɛn. Mede sanku beyi wo ayɛ, Onyankopɔn, me Nyankopɔn.
I will go to God's altar, to God who makes me truly happy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.
5 Me kra, adɛn, na woabotow? Adɛn na woayɛ basaa wɔ me mu saa? Fa wo ho to Onyankopɔn so, na mɛkɔ so ayi no ayɛ, mʼAgyenkwa ne me Nyankopɔn.
Why am I so discouraged? Why do I feel so sad? I will hope in God; I will praise him because he is the one who saves me—my God!
