1 Me Nyankopɔn, bu me bem, na ka mʼasɛm a etia ɔman a wonsuro wo no ma me; gye me fi nnaadaafo ne amumɔyɛfo nsam.
Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; deliver me from deceitful and unjust men.
2 Woyɛ Onyankopɔn, mʼabandennen. Adɛn nti na woapo me? Adɛn nti na ɛsɛ sɛ menantenantew twa adwo mʼatamfo nhyɛso nti?
For You are the God of my refuge. Why have You rejected me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?
3 Soma wo hann ne wo nokware ma wɔnkyerɛ me kwan; ma wɔmfa me mmra wo Bepɔw Kronkron no so, faako a wote no.
Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain, and to the place where You dwell.
4 Afei, mɛkɔ Onyankopɔn afɔremuka anim, mʼanigye ne mʼahosɛpɛw Nyankopɔn nkyɛn. Mede sanku beyi wo ayɛ, Onyankopɔn, me Nyankopɔn.
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I will praise You with the harp, O God, my God.
5 Me kra, adɛn, na woabotow? Adɛn na woayɛ basaa wɔ me mu saa? Fa wo ho to Onyankopɔn so, na mɛkɔ so ayi no ayɛ, mʼAgyenkwa ne me Nyankopɔn. Dwom a wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo.
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.
