1 Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo. Koramma “maskil” dwom. Sɛnea ɔforote pere hwehwɛ nsuwansuwa no, saa ara na me kra pere hwehwɛ wo, me Nyankopɔn.
To the Chief Musician. An Instructive Psalm for the Sons of Korah. As, the hart, cometh panting up to the channels of water, So my soul, panteth for thee, O God.
2 Onyankopɔn ho sukɔm de me kra, Onyankopɔn teasefo no. Da bɛn na metumi akohyia Onyankopɔn?
My soul thirsteth for God, for a GOD who liveth, —When shall I enter in, and see the face of God?
3 Me nisu ayɛ mʼaduan awia ne anadwo, na da mu nyinaa nnipa bisa me se: “Wo Nyankopɔn wɔ he?”
My tears have been my food day and night, While it hath been said unto me all the day, Where is thy God?
4 Saa nneɛma yi na mekae bere a mereka me koma mu nsɛm; sɛnea na midi asafokuw anim, na yɛde anigye nteɛteɛmu ne aseda nnwom nantew yuu bɔ mu kɔ Onyankopɔn fi wɔ afahyɛ da no.
These things, I keep calling to mind, and pouring out, over me, my own soul, For I used to cross over with a crowd, Lead them in procession up to the house of God, With the voice of shouting and praise.—a throng keeping festival.
5 Me kra, adɛn, na woabotow? Adɛn na woayɛ basaa wɔ me mu saa? Fa wo ho to Onyankopɔn so, na mɛkɔ so ayi no ayɛ, mʼAgyenkwa ne me Nyankopɔn.
Why shouldst thou be cast down, O my soul? And [why] shouldst thou moan over me? Wait thou for God, for yet shall I praise him, As the triumph of my presence.
6 Me kra abotow wɔ me mu, enti mɛkae wo fi Yordan asase so, Hermon mmepɔw so, fi Bepɔw Misar so.
My God! over myself, my soul is cast down, —For this cause, will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, And the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.
7 Ebun kɔ bun mu wɔ wo nsu a ɛworo gu no nnyigyei mu; wʼasorɔkye nyinaa abu afa me so.
Roaring deep unto roaring deep, is calling, at the voice of thy cataracts, All thy breakers and thy rolling waves, over me, have passed.
8 Adekyee mu, Awurade kyerɛ nʼadɔe, adesae mu, ne dwom ba me nkyɛn, mpae a mebɔ srɛ me nkwa Nyankopɔn.
By day, will Yahweh command his lovingkindness, And, in the night, shall His song be with me, My prayer be to the GOD of my life.
9 Mibisa Onyankopɔn, me Botan no se, “Adɛn nti na wo werɛ afi me? Adɛn nti na ɛsɛ sɛ menantenantew twa adwo, mʼatamfo nhyɛso nti?”
I will say onto GOD, —my rock, Wherefore hast thou forgotten me? Wherefore in gloom should I go, because of oppression by the enemy?
10 Me nnompe te ɔdesani yawdi, mʼahohiahiafo ateetee nti, daa nyinaa wobisa me se, “Wo Nyankopɔn wɔ he?”
With a crushing of my bones, have my adversaries reproached me, —While they keep saying unto me all the day, Where is thy God?
11 Me kra, adɛn, na woabotow? Adɛn na woayɛ basaa wɔ me mu saa? Fa wo ho to Onyankopɔn so, na mɛkɔ so ayi no ayɛ, mʼAgyenkwa ne me Nyankopɔn.
Why shouldst thou be sat down, O my soul? And why shouldst thou moan over me? Wait thou for God, for yet shall I praise him, As the triumph of my presence and my God.
