< Nnwom 4 >
1 Dawid dwom. Sɛ misu frɛ wo a, gye me so, me trenee Nyankopɔn. Ma me ɔhome wɔ mʼahohia mu; hu me mmɔbɔ na tie me mpaebɔ.
For the leader, with stringed instruments. A psalm of David. Answer my cry, God, my defender. Often from straits you have brought me to spacious places. So now show me your favour and hear my prayer.
2 Enkosi da bɛn na mobɛdan mʼanuonyam ahohora? Enkosi da bɛn na mobɛdɔ nneɛma hunu na moadi ahoni ahuhuw akyi?
How long, you proud people, will my honour be stained by the slanders you love, and the lies that you follow? (Selah)
3 Hu sɛ Awurade ayi nea ɔwɔ nyamesu ama ne ho; Awurade betie, sɛ misu mefrɛ no a.
See! The Lord has shown me his wonderful kindness: the Lord hears, when I call to him.
4 Sɛ mo bo fuw a, monnyɛ bɔne; sɛ modeda mo mpa so a, monyɛ komm na monhwehwɛ mo koma mu.
Sin not in your anger: but speak in your heart on your bed, and be still. (Selah)
5 Mommɔ afɔre a ɛfata na momfa mo werɛ nhyɛ Awurade mu.
Offer true sacrifice, trust in the Lord.
6 Nnipa bebree bisa se: “Hena na ɔde yiyeyɛ bɛbrɛ yɛn?” Awurade, ma wʼanim hann no nhyerɛn yɛn so.
Many are longing for fortune to smile. Lift upon us the light of your face.
7 Fa anigye mmoroso hyɛ me koma ma bere a wɔn aburow ne nsa foforo abu so no.
You have put in my heart, Lord, a deeper joy than was theirs who had corn and wine in abundance.
8 Mɛtɔ hɔ, na mada asomdwoe mu, efisɛ wo nko ara, Awurade, na woma metena dwoodwoo. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo sɛ wɔmfa atɛntɛbɛn nto.
So in peace I will lie down and sleep; for you, Lord, keep me safe.
