< Nnwom 27 >

1 Dawid dwom. Awurade ne me hann ne me nkwagye; hena na minsuro no? Awurade ne me nkwa ahoɔden, na hena anim na me ho mpopo?
David’s. Yahweh, is my light and my salvation, Of whom shall I be afraid? Yahweh, is the refuge of my life, Of whom shall I be in dread?
2 Sɛ nnipa bɔne bɔ toa me pɛ sɛ wokum me, sɛ mʼatamfo tow hyɛ me so a, wobehintihintiw ahwehwe ase.
When there drew near against me evil-doers to devour my flesh, mine adversaries, and mine enemies—mine!—they, stumbled and fell!
3 Sɛ dɔm mpo twa me ho hyia a, me koma rentu; mpo sɛ wotu me so sa a, ɛno mu koraa na minya awerehyɛmu.
Though there pitch against me—a camp, my heart shall not fear, —Though there come up against me—a battle, still, am I confident.
4 Ade baako na mibisa Awurade; na ɛno na mehwehwɛ; sɛ mɛtena Awurade fi me nkwanna nyinaa, na mahwɛ Awurade ahoɔfɛ na mahwehwɛ no wɔ nʼasɔrefi.
One thing, have I asked of Yahweh, That, will I seek to secure, —That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh, all the days of my life, To view the delightfulness of Yahweh, And to contemplate in his temple.
5 Hiada mu no, ɔde me besie nʼatenae dwoodwoo; ɔbɛkora me wɔ Ahyiae Ntamadan kronkron mu ɔde me si ɔbotan so wɔ sorosoro.
For he will hide me in his pavilion, in the day of calamity, —He will conceal me, in the secrecy of his tent, Within a rock, will he set me on high.
6 Afei ɔbɛma me ti so wɔ atamfo a wɔatwa me ho ahyia no so; mede anigye bɛbɔ afɔre wɔ nʼAhyiae Ntamadan mu; na mɛto dwom, ahyehyɛ nnwom ama Awurade.
Now, therefore, shall my head be raised high above my foes round about me, and I will sacrifice in his tent the sacrifices of triumphant joy, I will sing and touch the strings, to Yahweh.
7 Awurade, sɛ misu frɛ wo a, tie me! Hu me mmɔbɔ na gye me so!
Hear, O Yahweh, With my voice, do I cry, Oh then show me favour and answer me.
8 Me koma ka wɔ wo ho se, “Hwehwɛ nʼanim!” Wʼanim, Awurade na mɛhwehwɛ.
To thee, said my heart—[When thou saidst] Seek ye my face—Thy face, O Yahweh, will I seek!
9 Mfa wʼanim nhintaw me, mfa abufuw mpam wo somfo me boafo ne wo. Mpo me, na nnyaw me, mʼAgyenkwa Nyankopɔn.
Do not hide thy face from me, Do not repulse, in thine anger, thine own servant, —My help, thou hast been, Do not send me away nor forsake me, O my saving God!
10 Mʼagya ne me na begyaw me hɔ de, nanso Awurade begye me.
When, my own father and mother, had forsaken me, Then, Yahweh, took me up!
11 Kyerɛ me wʼakwan, Awurade; fa me fa ɔkwan tee so, me nhyɛsofo nti.
Point out to me, O Yahweh, thy way, —And guide me in a level path, because of mine adversaries.
12 Nnyaa me mma sɛnea mʼatamfo pɛ, nnansekurumfo sɔre tia me na wopuw awurukasɛm.
Do not give me up unto the desire of mine adversaries, for there have risen up against me witnesses that are false, and he that fanneth up violence.
13 Meda so wɔ saa anidaso yi sɛ: mehu Awurade ayamye wɔ ateasefo asase so.
I believe that I shall see—The goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living,
14 Twɛn Awurade. Hyɛ wo ho den na ma wo bo nyɛ duru na twɛn Awurade.
Wait thou for Yahweh, —Be strong, and let thy heart be bold, Wait, then, for Yahweh!
