Nnwom 21

1 Dawid dwom. Awurade, ɔhene di anigye wɔ wʼahoɔden mu. Nʼani gye mmoroso wɔ nkonimdi a woma no nti!

For the end, a Psalm of David. O Lord, the king shall rejoice in thy strength; and in thy salvation he shall greatly exult.

2 Woama no nea ne koma pɛ; woamfa nʼabisade ankame no.

Thou hast granted him the desire of his soul, and hast not withheld from him the request of his lips. (Pause)

3 Wode nhyira a edi mu hyiaa no na wode sikakɔkɔɔ ankasa ahenkyɛw hyɛɛ no.

For thou hast prevented him with blessings of goodness: thou has set upon his head a crown of precious stone.

4 Obisaa wo hɔ nkwa, na wode maa no, nna tenten a enni awiei.

He asked life of thee, and thou gavest him length of days for ever and ever.

5 Nkonimdi a woma no nti, nʼanuonyam so; wode kɛseyɛ ne nidi adom no.

His glory is great in thy salvation: thou wilt crown him with glory and majesty.

6 Ampa ara, woama no nhyira a ɛnsa da na woama no ahosɛpɛw wɔ wʼanim anigye mu.

For thou wilt give him a blessing for ever and ever: thou wilt gladden him with joy with thy countenance.

7 Ɔhene no de ne ho to Awurade so; Ɔsorosoroni no nokware dɔ no nti, ɔrenhinhim.

For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Highest he shall not be moved.

8 Wo nsa bɛka wʼatamfo nyinaa; wo nsa nifa beso wɔn a wokyi wo no mu.

Let thy hand be found by all thine enemies: let thy right hand find all that hate thee.

9 Bere a wubeyi wo ho adi no wobɛyɛ wɔn sɛ fononoo a mu adɔ. Awurade fi nʼabufuwhyew mu bɛmene wɔn, na ne gya no ahyew wɔn.

Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven at the time of thy presence: the Lord shall trouble them in his anger, and fire shall devour them.

10 Wobɛtɔre wɔn ase wɔ asase so, na wɔn asefo afi adesamma mu.

Thou shalt destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from [among] the sons of men.

11 Ɛwɔ mu sɛ wɔbɔ pɔw tia wo na wɔyɛ nhyehyɛe bɔne, nanso wɔrenni nkonim;

For they intended evils against thee; they imagined a device which they shall by no means be able to perform.

12 efisɛ wobɛma wɔasan wɔn akyi bere a woatwe bɛmma akyerɛ wɔn so no.

For thou shalt make them [turn their] back in thy latter end, thou wilt prepare their face.

13 Yɛma wo so, Awurade, wɔ wʼahoɔden mu; yɛbɛto nnwom na yɛakamfo wo kɛseyɛ. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo. Wɔto no sɛnea wɔto “Adekyee forote” dwom.

Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy strength: we will sing and praise thy mighty acts.
