< Nnwom 17 >
1 Dawid Mpaebɔ. Awurade, tie me trenee abisade; tie me sufrɛ. Yɛ aso ma me mpaebɔ; nea emfi nnaadaa anofafa mu.
A Prayer of David. Hear, O Yahweh, the right, Attend to my loud cry, Give ear unto my prayer, on lips that would not deceive:
2 Ma me bembu mfi wo; ma wʼani nhu nea ɛyɛ pɛ.
From before thee, let my sentence come forth, Thine eyes, behold with equity.
3 Wopɛɛpɛɛ me koma mu, wohwehwɛ me mu anadwo, na wosɔ me hwɛ de, nanso wubehu sɛ minsusuw bɔne bi ɛ; mʼano nkaa bɔne bi ɛ.
Thou hast tested my heart, hast made inspection by night, hast refined me until thou couldst find nothing, Had I devised evil, my mouth should not have transgressed:
4 Nnipa nneyɛe fam no, anom asɛm nti matwe me ho afi basabasayɛfo akwan ho.
As for the workings of men, By the word of thy lips, have, I, taken heed of the paths of the violent one.
5 Menam wʼakwan so daa; me nan nhintiw ɛ.
Thou hast held fast my goings on to thy ways, My footsteps have not been shaken:
6 Misu mefrɛ wo, Onyankopɔn na wubegye me so; yɛ aso ma me na tie me mpaebɔ.
I, have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O GOD, —Incline thine ear unto me, Hear thou my speech:
7 Da wo dɔ nwonwaso no adi; wo a wode wo nsa nifa gye wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to wo so no nkwa fi wɔn atamfo nsam no.
Let thy lovingkindness be distinguished, thou Saviour of such as seek refuge from them who lift themselves up against thy right hand.
8 Hwɛ me so sɛ obi a wodɔ no; fa me sie wo ntaban nwini no ase,
Guard me, as the pupil of the eye, —Under the shadow of thy wings, wilt thou hide me:
9 fi amumɔyɛfo a wɔretaataa me no nsam, mʼatamfo a wɔatwa me ho ahyia no.
From the face of lawless ones who have treated me with violence, the foes of my soul, who come round against me:
10 Wopirim wɔn koma, na wɔkasa ahantan so.
Their own fat [heart], have they shut up, —With their mouth, have they spoken proudly.
11 Wɔadi me ntɛntɛ, afei wɔatwa me ho ahyia; wɔn ani abere sɛ wɔbɛbɔ me ahwe fam.
As for our own goings, now, have they surrounded us, —Their eyes, they fix, bending to the earth:
12 Wɔte sɛ gyata a hanam ho kɔm de no, te sɛ gyata kɛse bi a wabutuw wɔ ahintawee.
His likeness, is as a lion, that longeth to rend, and as a young lion, lurking in secret places.
13 Sɔre, Awurade! Wone wɔn mfa mmɔ ani na ka wɔn hyɛ; fa wʼafoa no gye me fi amumɔyɛfo no nsam.
Rise, Yahweh! Confront his face, Bring him down, Deliver my soul from the lawless one [who is] thy sword:
14 Awurade, fa wo nsa gye me fi nnipa a wɔte sɛɛ nsam; asase so nnipa a wɔn akatua wɔ nkwa yi mu no. Womma ɔkɔm nne wɔn a wʼani ku wɔn ho; wɔn mmabarima wɔ bebree, na wɔkora agyapade ma wɔn mma.
From men [who are] thy hand, O Yahweh, From the men of this age, whose portion, is among the living, and, with thy treasure, thou fillest their bosom, —They must be satisfied with sons, And must leave their abundance to their children: —
15 Na me trenee mu, mehu wʼanim; sɛ minyan na mihu wo a me koma bɛtɔ me yam. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo.
I, in righteousness, shall behold thy face, Shall be satisfied when awakened by a vision of thee.
