1 Dawid dwom. Awurade, tie me mpaebɔ, tie me mmɔborɔsu; fi wo nokwaredi ne trenee mu bra bɛboa me.
A Melody of David. O Yahweh, hear my prayer, Give ear to my supplications, In thy faithfulness, answer me, in thy righteousness.
2 Mfa wʼakoa nkɔ atemmu mu, na ɔteasefo biara nteɛ wɔ wʼanim.
Do not then enter into judgment with thy servant, for no one living, can appear just before thee.
3 Ɔtamfo no taa me, ɔbɔ me hwe fam; ɔma me tena sum mu te sɛ wɔn a wowuwuu dedaada.
For an enemy hath pursued my soul, hath crushed, to the earth, my life, hath made me dwell in dark places, like the ancient dead.
4 Ɛno nti me honhom atɔ beraw wɔ me mu; na me koma di yaw wɔ me mu.
Therefore hath my spirit, fainted concerning myself, Within me, hath, my heart, been confounded.
5 Mekae tete nna no; midwinnwen wo nnwuma ne nea wo nsa ayɛ nyinaa ho.
I have remembered the days of aforetime, I have talked with myself of every deed of thine, Of the work of thy hands, I would speak:
6 Mema me nsa so kyerɛ wo; wo ho sukɔm de me kra sɛ asase kesee.
I have spread out my hands unto thee, My soul, is as a thirsty land, for thee. (Selah)
7 Awurade, gye me so ntɛm; me honhom tɔ piti. Mfa wʼanim nhintaw me anyɛ saa a mɛyɛ sɛ wɔn a wɔkɔ amoa mu no.
Speedily answer me, O Yahweh, My spirit faileth, —Do not hide thy face from me, or I shall be made like unto them who go down into the pit.
8 Ma mente wʼadɔe a ɛnsa da no ho asɛm daa anɔpa, na mede me ho ato wo so. Kyerɛ me ɔkwan a memfa so, na wo na mema me kra so kyerɛ.
Let me hear, in the morning, thy lovingkindness, for, in thee, have, I trusted, —Let me know the way in which I should walk, for, unto thee, have I uplifted my soul.
9 Awurade gye me fi mʼatamfo nsam, na wo mu na mede me ho hintaw.
Rescue me from my foes, O Yahweh, Unto thee, have I come seeking refuge.
10 Kyerɛ me na menyɛ wʼapɛde, na wo ne me Nyankopɔn; ma wo honhom pa no nkogya me asasetaw so.
Teach me to do thy good pleasure, for, thou, art my God, —Thy spirit, is good, thou wilt set me down to rest in a level land.
11 Awurade, wo din nti, kyɛe me nkwa so; wo trenee mu, yi me fi ɔhaw mu.
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, wilt thou give unto me life, In thy righteousness, wilt thou bring forth, out of distress, my soul;
12 Fi wʼadɔe a ɛnsa da no mu mua mʼatamfo ano; na sɛe wɔn a wokyi me no nyinaa, na meyɛ wo somfo.
And, in thy lovingkindness, wilt thou exterminate my foes, —and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, because, I, am thy servant.
