< Nnwom 142 >
1 Dawid de. Bere a na ɔwɔ ɔbodan mu no. Mpaebɔ. Meteɛ mu su frɛ Awurade; mema me nne so su frɛ Awurade sɛ onhu me mmɔbɔ.
“A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A prayer.” With my voice I cry unto the Lord: with my voice I make supplication unto the Lord.
2 Mihwie mʼahiasɛm gu nʼanim; meka me haw kyerɛ no.
I pour out before him my grief: my distress I recite before him.
3 Sɛ me kra tɔ beraw wɔ me mu a, ɛyɛ wo na wunim me kwan. Ɔkwan a menam so no nnipa asum me afiri.
When my spirit was overwhelmed within me—and thou knowest well my path—on the way whereon I desired to walk they had secretly laid a snare for me.
4 Hwɛ na hu, obiara nni me nifa so; mʼasɛm mfa obiara ho; minni guankɔbea bi; me nkwa mfa obiara ho.
Look to the right, and behold, yea, there is no man that recognizeth me: [every] refuge is lost to me; there is no one that careth for my soul.
5 Awurade, misu frɛ wo; mise, “Wone me guankɔbea, me kyɛfa wɔ ateasefo asase so.”
I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge, my portion in the land of life.
6 Tie me sufrɛ, na mewɔ ahohia kɛse mu; gye me fi mʼataafo nsam, efisɛ wɔn ho yɛ den sen me.
Listen unto my entreaty; for I am very miserable: deliver me from my pursuers; for they are too mighty for me.
7 Yi me fi mʼafiase, na makamfo wo din. Afei atreneefo betwa me ho ahyia esiane wo papa a woayɛ me no nti.
Bring forth out of prison my soul, that I may thank thy name: with me shall the righteous crown themselves, when thou wilt deal bountifully with me.
