< Nnwom 13 >
1 Dawid dwom. Awurade enkosi da bɛn? Wo werɛ befi me afebɔɔ ana? Enkosi da bɛn na wode wʼanim behintaw me?
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. How long, O Yahweh, wilt thou wholly forget me? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2 Enkosi da bɛn na mene mʼadwennwene bedi aperepere na awerɛhow ahyɛ me koma mu daa? Mʼatamfo nni me so nkonim nkosi da bɛn?
How long shall I lay up cares within my soul, sorrow in my heart, day by day? How long shall mine enemy lift himself up over me?
3 Twa wʼani hwɛ me na bua me, Awurade, me Nyankopɔn. Ma mʼani so nyɛ hann, na manna owu nna.
Have regard! answer me O Yahweh my God, —Light up mine eyes, lest I sleep on into death:
4 Me tamfo bɛka se, “Madi ne so nkonim.” Na mʼahohiahiafo bedi ahurusi bere a mahwe ase.
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed over him! and, mine adversaries, exult, that I totter.
5 Nanso mede me ho to wo dɔ a ɛnsa da no so; me koma di ahurusi wɔ wo nkwagye mu.
But, I, in thy lovingkindness, have put my trust, My heart shall exult in thy salvation:
6 Mɛto dwom ama Awurade, efisɛ ɔne me adi no yiye. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo no.
I will sing to Yahweh, for he hath dealt beautifully with me.
