< Nnwom 124 >
1 Ɔsoroforo dwom. Dawid de. Sɛ anka Awurade nni yɛn afa a, ma Israel nka,
A song of ascents. Of David. ‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us’ let Israel say
2 Sɛ anka Awurade nni yɛn afa bere a nnipa tow hyɛɛ yɛn so,
‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us when enemies rose against us,
3 bere a wɔn abufuw sɔre tiaa yɛn a anka wɔmemenee yɛn anikann;
then alive they’d have swallowed us up, when their anger was kindled against us.
4 anka nsuyiri no bebu afa yɛn so, anka ɔhweam no bɛtwe yɛn akɔ,
Then the waters would’ve swept us away, and the torrent passed over us clean:
5 anka nsu a ano yɛ den no bɛpra yɛn kɔ.
then most sure would’ve passed over us clean the wild seething waters.’
6 Ayeyi nka Awurade a wamma ho kwan amma wɔamfa wɔn se antetew yɛn mu.
Blest be the Lord who has given us not to be torn by their teeth.
7 Yɛaguan sɛ anomaa afi ofirisumfo afiri mu; wɔabubu afiri no, ama yɛaguan.
We are like a bird just escaped from the snare of the fowler. The snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8 Yɛn mmoa wɔ Awurade din mu, ɔsoro ne asase Yɛfo no.
Our help is the name of the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.
