< Nnwom 123 >

1 Ɔsoroforo dwom. Mema mʼani so kyerɛ wo, wo a wʼahengua si ɔsoro.
Yahweh, I look up toward you, up to heaven, from where you rule.
2 Sɛnea nkoa ani hwɛ wɔn wura nsa no, sɛnea afenaa ani hwɛ nʼawuraa nsa no no, saa ara na yɛn ani hwɛ Awurade, yɛn Nyankopɔn kosi sɛ obehu yɛn mmɔbɔ.
Like servants ask [IDM] their masters [for what they need] and like maids ask t their mistresses [for what they need], we ask you, Yahweh our God, [for what we need], and we ask you to be merciful to us.
3 Hu yɛn mmɔbɔ, Awurade, hu yɛn mmɔbɔ, na wɔabu yɛn animtiaa bebree.
Yahweh, be very merciful [DOU] to us because [our enemies] have acted very contemptuously toward us.
4 Ahomasofo fɛwdi ama yɛabrɛ dodo, ahantanfo animtiaabu afono yɛn.
Rich people have made fun of us for a long time, and proud [people] who have (oppressed/acted cruelly toward) us have acted toward us as though we were worthless.
