< Nnwom 12 >
1 Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo se wɔnto no wɔ “Seminit” sanku nne so. Dawid dwom. Boa yɛn, Awurade, na nyamesurofo asa; nokwafo ayera wɔ nnipa mu.
For the leader; on the sheminith. A psalm of David. Help, Lord, for the good are all gone, faithful people have vanished.
2 Obiara di atoro kyerɛ ne yɔnko; wɔn ano a ɛdɛfɛdɛfɛ no ka nnaadaasɛm.
One lies to another, speaking empty lies, with flattering lips and false hearts they speak.
3 Ma Awurade ntwa nnaadaa ano ne tɛkrɛma biara a ɛhoahoa ne ho nkyene;
May the Lord cut off all the flattering lips, and the tongue that utters arrogance,
4 nea ɛka se, “Yɛde yɛn tɛkrɛma bedi nkonim; yɛn ano bedi ama yɛn, na hena na odi yɛn so tumi?”
they declare, “Our tongue is our strength, our allies our lips: who is lord over us?”
5 “Esiane ɔhyɛ a wɔde hyɛ mmɔborɔni ne ohiani apinisi no nti, mɛsɔre afei,” Awurade na ose. “Mɛbɔ wɔn ho ban afi wɔn a wɔhaw wɔn no ho.”
“The poor are despoiled, and the needy are sighing; so now I will act,” the Lord declares “And place them in the safety they long for.”
6 Awurade asɛm yɛ nokware te sɛ dwetɛ a wɔasɔn so wɔ fononoo mu, na wɔahoa ho mpɛn ason.
The words of the Lord are words that are pure, silver smelted, seven times refined.
7 Awurade, wobɛkora mmɔborɔni na woabɔ yɛn ho ban afi saa nnipa yi ho afebɔɔ.
You will keep us, Lord, and guard us from this generation forever,
8 Amumɔyɛfo nenam sɛnea wɔpɛ, bere a adesamma de nidi ma afide.
in a world where the wicked prowl, and worthless people exalted.
