1 Bere a Israelfo fii Misraim, na Yakobfifo fii ananafo asase so no,
When Israel came forth from Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Yuda bɛyɛɛ Awurade kronkronbea na Israel bɛyɛɛ nʼaheman.
Judah was his sanctuary, And Israel his dominion.
3 Po no hwɛe, na eguanee, Yordan san nʼakyi;
The sea beheld, and fled; The Jordan turned back.
4 Mmepɔw huruhuruwii sɛ adwennini, nkoko nso huruhuruwii sɛ nguantenmma.
The mountains skipped like rams, And the hills like lambs.
5 Dɛn na ɛbae, ɛpo, na wuguanee? Yordan, adɛn, na wosan wʼakyi?
What aileth thee, O thou sea! that thou fleest? Thou, Jordan, that thou runnest back?
6 Mmepɔw, adɛn, na muhuruhuruw sɛ adwennini, na mo nkoko, muhuruhuruw sɛ nguantenmma yi?
Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams, And ye hills like lambs?
7 Asase, ma wo ho mpopo wɔ Awurade anim, wɔ Yakob Nyankopɔn anim,
Tremble, O earth! at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 ɔno na ɔmaa ɔbotan no dan asubura, na ɔbotan dennen dan nsuwa aniwa no.
Who turned the rock into a standing lake, And the flint into a fountain of water!
