1 Bere a Israelfo fii Misraim, na Yakobfifo fii ananafo asase so no,
Alleluia. At the going forth of Israel from Egypt, of the house of Jacob from a barbarous people,
2 Yuda bɛyɛɛ Awurade kronkronbea na Israel bɛyɛɛ nʼaheman.
Judea became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.
3 Po no hwɛe, na eguanee, Yordan san nʼakyi;
The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.
4 Mmepɔw huruhuruwii sɛ adwennini, nkoko nso huruhuruwii sɛ nguantenmma.
The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs.
5 Dɛn na ɛbae, ɛpo, na wuguanee? Yordan, adɛn, na wosan wʼakyi?
What [ailed] you, O sea, that you fled? and you Jordan, that you were turned back?
6 Mmepɔw, adɛn, na muhuruhuruw sɛ adwennini, na mo nkoko, muhuruhuruw sɛ nguantenmma yi?
[You] mountains, that you skipped like rams, and [you] hills, like lambs?
7 Asase, ma wo ho mpopo wɔ Awurade anim, wɔ Yakob Nyankopɔn anim,
The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 ɔno na ɔmaa ɔbotan no dan asubura, na ɔbotan dennen dan nsuwa aniwa no.
who turned the rock into pools of water, and the flint into fountains of water.
