< Nnwom 102 >
1 Aberante mmɔborɔni mpaebɔ. Osu kyerɛ Awurade bere a ɔwɔ ahohia mu. Awurade, tie me mpaebɔ; na ma me mmoa ho sufrɛ nnu wʼanim.
A Prayer for the Poor; when he is deeply afflicted, and pours out his supplication before the Lord. Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come to you.
2 Mmfa wʼanim nhintaw me bere a mewɔ ahohia mu. Brɛ wʼaso ase ma me; na sɛ misu frɛ wo a, gye me so ntɛm.
Turn not away your face from me: in the day [when] I am afflicted, incline your ear to me: in the day [when] I shall call upon you, speedily hear me.
3 Me nkwanna reyera te sɛ wusiw; me nnompe adɔ sɛ nyansramma.
For my days have vanished like smoke, and my bones have been parched like a stick.
4 Me koma abotow na akisa sɛ sare; na me kɔn nnɔ aduan.
I am blighted like grass, and my heart is dried up; for I have forgotten to eat my bread.
5 Mʼapinisi dennen nti maka ɔhonam ne nnompe.
By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bone has cleaved to my flesh.
6 Mete sɛ sare so patu, te sɛ patu a ɔte nnwiriwii mu.
I have become like a pelican of the wilderness;
7 Meda hɔ a, mʼani gu so; mayɛ sɛ anomaa bi a ɔno nko ara si ɔdan atifi.
I have become like an owl in a ruined house. I have watched, and am become as a sparrow dwelling alone on a roof.
8 Da mu nyinaa mʼatamfo bɔ me akutia. Wɔn a wodi me ho fɛw no bɔ me din de dome.
All the day long mine enemies have reproached me; and they that praised me have sworn against me.
9 Mede nsõ ayɛ mʼaduan na mede nusu fra me nsu mu
For I have eaten ashes as it were bread, and mingled my drink with weeping;
10 esiane wʼabufuwhyew dennen no nti, woama me so, ayi me asi nkyɛn.
because of your anger and your wrath: for you have lifted me up, and dashed me down.
11 Me nkwa nna te sɛ anwummere sunsuma; na mehyew sɛ sare.
My days have declined like a shadow; and I am withered like grass.
12 Nanso wo Awurade, woyɛ ɔhene daa daa; na wo din a ahyeta no te hɔ daa awo ntoatoaso nyinaa mu.
But you, Lord, endure for ever, and your memorial to generation and generation.
13 Wobɛsɔre na woahu Sion mmɔbɔ; bere adu sɛ wuhu no mmɔbɔ; bere a wohyɛe no aso.
You shall arise, and have mercy upon Sion: for [it is] time to have mercy upon her, for the set time is come.
14 Nʼabo som bo ma wʼasomfo; ne mfutuma hyɛ wɔn awerɛhow.
For your servants have taken pleasure in her stones, and they shall pity her dust.
15 Amanaman no besuro Awurade din; asase so ahemfo nyinaa bedi wʼanuonyam ni.
So the nations shall fear your name, O Lord, and all kings your glory.
16 Awurade bɛkyekyere Sion bio, na wapue wɔ nʼanuonyam mu.
For the Lord shall build up Sion, and shall appear in his glory.
17 Obetie mmɔborɔfo mpaebɔ; na ɔremmu nʼani ngu wɔn sufrɛ so.
He has had regard to the prayer of the lowly, and has not despised their petition.
18 Monkyerɛw eyi mma nkyirimma, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wɔn a wonnya nwoo wɔn no bɛkamfo Awurade;
Let this be written for another generation; and the people that shall be created shall praise the Lord.
19 “Awurade hwɛɛ fam fi ne kronkronbea wɔ ɔsoro hɔ; ofi ɔsoro hwɛɛ asase,
For he has looked out from the height of his sanctuary; the Lord looked upon the earth from heaven;
20 sɛnea ɔbɛte nneduafo apinisi, na wɔagyaa wɔn a wɔabu wɔn kumfɔ no.”
to hear the groaning of the fettered ones, to loosen the sons of the slain;
21 Enti wɔbɛpae mu abɔ Awurade din wɔ Sion na wɔakamfo no wɔ Yerusalem,
to proclaim the name of the Lord in Sion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22 bere a amanaman ne ahenni ahorow behyia mu na wɔasom Awurade.
when the people are gathered together, and the kings, to serve the Lord.
23 Ɔmaa me yɛɛ mmerɛw wɔ bere a merenyin. Otwaa me nkwa nna so.
He answered him in the way of his strength: tell me the fewness of my days.
24 Enti mekae se, “Me Onyankopɔn, mfa me nkɔ, wɔ me nkwa nna mfimfini; wo mfe wɔ hɔ daa kodu awo ntoatoaso nyinaa mu.
Take me not away in the midst of my days: your years [are] through all generations.
25 Mfiase no wotoo asase fapem, na ɔsoro yɛ wo nsa ano adwuma.
In the beginning you, O Lord, did lay the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands.
26 Ne nyinaa betwa mu na wo de, wobɛtena hɔ daa; wɔbɛtetew te sɛ atade. Wobɛsesa wɔn te sɛ ntama, na wɔbɛtow wɔn agu.
They shall perish, but you remain: and [they all] shall wax old as a garment; and as a vesture shall you fold them, and they shall be changed.
27 Nanso wote sɛnea wote, na wo mfe to rentwa da.
But you are the same, and your years shall not fail.
28 Wʼasomfo mma bɛtena nkwa mu wɔ wʼanim; na wɔn asefo ase betim wɔ wʼanim.”
The children of your servants shall dwell [securely], and their seed shall prosper for ever.
