< Nnwom 1 >
1 Nhyira ne onipa a ontie amumɔyɛfo afotu na onni nnebɔneyɛfo nhwɛso akyi na ɔntena fɛwdifo tenabea.
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of people who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal·, nor sit in the seat of scoffers;
2 Na mmom, Awurade mmara sɔ nʼani, na osusuw ho awia ne anadwo.
but his delight is in Adonai’s Torah ·Teaching·. On his torot ·teachings· he meditates day and night.
3 Ɔte sɛ dua a wɔatɛw wɔ asuten ho, na ɛsow nʼaba ne bere mu a nʼahaban no nguan da. Nea ɔyɛ biara yɛ yiye.
He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.
4 Nanso nnebɔneyɛfo nte saa; wɔte sɛ ntɛtɛ a mframa bɔ gu.
The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Enti amumɔyɛfo rentumi nnyina atemmu no ano, na nnebɔneyɛfo nso rentena atreneefo asafo mu.
Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor people who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal· in the congregation of the upright.
6 Efisɛ Awurade kyerɛ ɔtreneeni kwan nanso amumɔyɛfo kwan de, ɛbɛyera.
For Adonai knows the way of the upright, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
