< Mmebusɛm 11 >
1 Awurade kyi asisi nsania, na nʼani gye nokware nkaribo ho.
False balances are an abomination vnto the Lord: but a perfite weight pleaseth him.
2 Ahantan ba a, animguase na edi so, nanso ahobrɛase de nyansa ba.
When pride commeth, then commeth shame: but with the lowly is wisdome.
3 Teefo nokwaredi kyerɛ wɔn kwan; nanso nkontompofo ano ntanta sɛe wɔn.
The vprightnes of the iust shall guide them: but the frowardnes of the transgressers shall destroy them.
4 Ahonya nka hwee wɔ abufuwhyew da no, nanso trenee gye nkwa fi owu mu.
Riches auaile not in the day of wrath: but righteousnes deliuereth from death.
5 Wɔn a wonni bɔne no trenee bɔ kwan tee ma wɔn, nanso amumɔyɛfo amumɔyɛsɛm brɛ wɔn ase.
The righteousnes of the vpright shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall in his owne wickednes.
6 Pɛyɛfo treneeyɛ gye wɔn, nanso akɔnnɔ bɔne afiri yi nkontompofo.
The righteousnesse of the iust shall deliuer them: but the transgressers shall be taken in their owne wickednes.
7 Sɛ omumɔyɛfo wu a, nʼanidaso yera; nea osusuw sɛ obenya afi ne tumi mu nyinaa no yɛ ɔkwa.
When a wicked man dieth, his hope perisheth, and the hope of the vniust shall perish.
8 Wogye ɔtreneeni fi amane mu, na ɛba omumɔyɛfo so mmom.
The righteous escapeth out of trouble, and the wicked shall come in his steade.
9 Nea onsuro Onyame de nʼano sɛe ne yɔnko, nanso ɔtreneeni nam nimdeɛ so fi mu.
An hypocrite with his mouth hurteth his neighbour: but the righteous shall be deliuered by knowledge.
10 Sɛ atreneefo di yiye a, kuropɔn no di ahurusi; nanso amumɔyɛfo wu a, wɔbɔ ose.
In the prosperitie of the righteous the citie reioyceth, and when the wicked perish, there is ioye.
11 Pɛyɛfo nhyira ma kuropɔn no kɔ so, nanso amumɔyɛfo ano ma ɛbɔ.
By the blessing of the righteous, the citie is exalted: but it is subuerted by the mouth of the wicked.
12 Onipa a onni adwene no bu ne yɔnko animtiaa, nanso nea ɔwɔ nhumu no to ne tɛkrɛma nnareka.
He that despiseth his neighbour, is destitute of wisedome: but a man of vnderstanding will keepe silence.
13 Nsekudi sɛe ahotoso, nanso nea wɔwɔ ne mu ahotoso no kora ahintasɛm.
Hee that goeth about as a slanderer, discouereth a secret: but hee that is of a faithfull heart concealeth a matter.
14 Ɔman a enni akwankyerɛ no bɔ, nanso afotufo dodow ma nkonimdi ba.
Where no counsell is, the people fall: but where many counsellers are, there is health.
15 Nea odi akagyinamu ma ɔfoforo no behu amane, na nea ɔmmfa ne nsa nhyɛ awowasi ase no aso mu dwo no.
Hee shall be sore vexed, that is suretie for a stranger, and he that hateth suretiship, is sure.
16 Ɔbea a ne yam ye no, wɔde obu ma no, nanso mmarima atirimɔdenfo nya ahode nkutoo.
A gracious woman atteineth honour, and the strong men atteine riches.
17 Ɔyamyefo ye ma ne ho, na otirimɔdenfo de ɔhaw ba nʼankasa so.
Hee that is mercifull, rewardeth his owne soule: but he that troubleth his own flesh, is cruel.
18 Omumɔyɛfo nya akatua a ennyina, nanso nea ogu trenee aba no twa aba a edi mu.
The wicked worketh a deceitful worke: but hee that soweth righteousnes, shall receiue a sure rewarde.
19 Nea ɔyɛ nokware treneeni no nya nkwa, nanso nea ɔkɔ so yɛ bɔne no kɔ owu mu.
As righteousnes leadeth to life: so hee that followeth euill, seeketh his owne death.
20 Awurade kyi nnipa a wɔn koma akyea, na nʼani gye wɔn a wɔn akwan ho nni asɛm no ho.
They that are of a froward heart, are abomination to the Lord: but they that are vpright in their way, are his delite.
21 Gye to mu sɛ, amumɔyɛfo benya wɔn akatua, na atreneefo benya wɔn ti adidi mu.
Though hande ioyne in hande, the wicked shall not be vnpunished: but the seede of the righteous shall escape.
22 Ɔbea hoɔfɛfo a ontumi nsi gyinae no te sɛ sika kaa a ɛhyɛ prako hwene mu.
As a iewell of golde in a swines snoute: so is a faire woman, which lacketh discretion.
23 Atreneefo apɛde wie yiye, nanso amumɔyɛfo anidaso wie abufuwhyew.
The desire of the righteous is onely good: but the hope of the wicked is indignation.
24 Obi yɛ adɔe, na onya ne ho bebree; obi nso yɛ pɛpɛe, nanso ehia no.
There is that scattereth, and is more increased: but hee that spareth more then is right, surely commeth to pouertie.
25 Ɔyamyefo bɛkɔ so anya ne ho; na nea ɔma ebinom mee no nso bɛmee.
The liberall person shall haue plentie: and he that watereth, shall also haue raine.
26 Nnipa dome nea ɔde atoko sie, na nhyira ba nea ɔtɔn ne de so.
He that withdraweth the corne, the people will curse him: but blessing shalbe vpon the head of him that selleth corne.
27 Nea ɔhwehwɛ papa akyi kwan no nya anisɔ, na nea ɔhwehwɛ bɔne no, bɔne ba ne so.
He that seeketh good things, getteth fauour: but he that seeketh euill, it shall come to him.
28 Nea ɔde ne ho to nʼahonyade so no bɛhwe ase, na ɔtreneeni bɛyɛ frɔmfrɔm sɛ ahabammono.
He that trusteth in his riches, shall fall: but the righteous shall florish as a leafe.
29 Nea ɔde ɔhaw bɛto nʼabusua so no bedi mframa ade, na ɔkwasea bɛyɛ onyansafo somfo.
He that troubleth his owne house, shall inherite the winde, and the foole shalbe seruant to the wise in heart.
30 Ɔtreneeni aba yɛ nkwadua, na nea ogye akra no yɛ onyansafo.
The fruite of the righteous is as a tree of life, and he that winneth soules, is wise.
31 Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Ɛyɛ den sɛ wobegye onipa pa nkwa; na wɔn a wonnye asɛm no nni ne nnebɔneyɛfo no de, dɛn na ɛbɛba wɔn so?”
Beholde, the righteous shalbe recompensed in the earth: howe much more the wicked and the sinner?
