< 4 Mose 35 >
1 Bere a Israelfo bɔɔ atenase wɔ Yordan ho, Moab tataw so wɔ Yeriko akyi no, Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se,
And Yahweh spake unto Moses in the waste plains of Moab, —by Jordan, near Jericho, saying:
2 “Ka kyerɛ Israelfo no na wɔmfa wɔn agyapade no mu bi a ɛyɛ nkurow ne ɛho mmoa adidibea mma Lewifo no.
Command the sons of Israel, that they give unto the Levites—out of the inheritance which they possess—cities to dwell in, —pasture land also unto the cities, round about them, shall ye give unto the Levites.
3 Nkurow no mu na wɔbɛtena na wɔn anantwi, wɔn nguan ne wɔn mmoa a aka no nso akɔ adidi wɔ adidibea hɔ.
So shall the cities be theirs, to dwell in, —and their pasture lands, shall, be for their cattle and for their goods and for all their beasts.
4 “Wɔn mmoa adidibea no kɛse befi kurow no afasu ho a ne fa biara trɛw yɛ anammɔn apem ne ahannum.
And, the pasture lands of the cities which ye shall give unto the Levite, shall be, —from the wall of the city, and outwards, a thousand cubits round about
5 Munsusuw anammɔn mpensa mfi kurow no afasu no ho wɔ nʼafanan nyinaa. Eyi bɛyɛ mmoa adidibea kɛse ama nkurow no.
So ye shall measure—on the outside of the city—the eastward quarter two thousand by the cubit, and the south quarter two thousand by the cubit, and the west quarter two thousand by the cubit and the north quarter two thousand by the cubit, with, the city, in the midst. This, shall be unto them the pasture lands of the cities,
6 “Nkurow a mode bɛma Lewifo no no mu asia bɛyɛ guankɔbea nkuropɔn, baabi a obi a wafom akum ɔfoforo no, betumi aguan akɔ. Momfa nkurow aduanan abien nka ho mma wɔn.
And, among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall be the six cities of refuge, which ye shall give that the manslayer may flee thither, —and besides them, ye shall give, forty-two cities,
7 Ne nyinaa bɛyɛ nkurow aduanan awotwe ne ho mmoa adidibea.
All the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall be forty-eight cities, —them, and their pasture lands,
8 Saa nkurow yi befi Israelfo no agyapade mu. Mmusuakuw no mu akɛse bɛma Lewifo no nkurow bebree na mmusuakuw nketewa no ama kakraa bi. Abusuakuw biara bɛma sɛnea nʼagyapade kɛse te.”
And as touching the cities which ye shall give out of the possession of the sons of Israel from the many, shall ye take many, and from the few, shall ye take few, —each, according to his inheritance, which they shall inherit, shall give of his cities unto the Levites.
9 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
10 “Ka kyerɛ Israelfo no se, ‘Sɛ mutwa Yordan du Kanaan a,
Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, —When ye are passing over the Jordan unto the land of Canaan,
11 mompaw nkurow bi mfa nyɛ guankɔbea nkurow a, obiara a ɔbɛfom akum onipa no betumi aguan akɔ hɔ.
then shall ye find for you, convenient cities, cities of refuge, shall they be unto you, —and the manslayer, who hath slain a person, by mistake, shall flee thither.
12 Saa nkurow yi bɛyɛ guankɔbea a ebegye no afi owufo no abusuafo a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔtɔ owufo no wu so were no nsa mu; na ɛnsɛ sɛ wokum owudifo no gye sɛ wɔadi nʼasɛm abu no kumfɔ ansa.
So shall the cities serve you for places of refuge from the redeemer, —that the manslayer may not die, until he has stood before the assembly, for judgment,
13 Ɛsɛ sɛ wosisi guankɔbea nkurow yi mu abiɛsa wɔ Kanaan asase so
And as touching the cities which ye shall give six cities of refuge, shall there be unto you.
14 na wosisi abiɛsa nso wɔ Asubɔnten Yordan apuei fam.
Three of the cities, shall ye give, on this side the Jordan, and three of the cities, shall ye give in the land of Canaan, —cities of refuge, shall they be.
15 Ɛnyɛ Israelfo nko na ɛhɔ bɛyɛ wɔn guankɔbea, na mmom, ɛbɛyɛ guankɔbea ama ahɔho ne akwantufo nyinaa.
For the sons of Israel and for the sojourner. and for the settler in your midst, shall these six cities serve, as places of refuge, —that any one may flee thither who hath slain a person, by mistake.
16 “‘Nanso sɛ obi de dade pema sin bi bɔ obi kum no a, wɔfa no sɛ wadi awu enti ɛsɛ sɛ wokum owudifo no.
If, then, with an instrument of iron, he smote him, and he died, a manslayer, he is, —a manslayer, shall surely die.
17 Anaasɛ, sɛ wɔde ɔbo kɛse bi bɔ obi ma owu a, ɛyɛ awudi enti ɛsɛ sɛ wokum owudifo no.
Or if with a stone thrown by hand, where-by one might die, he smote him and he died, a manslayer, he is, —the man-slayer, shall surely die,
18 Saa ara nso na sɛ wɔde dua na ekum no a ɛte ara ne no.
Or, if with hand-weapon of wood, wherewith one might die, he smote him and he died a manslayer, he is, —the manslayer shall surely die.
19 Sɛ ɔweretɔni no hyia owudifo no wɔ baabiara a, ɔwɔ ho kwan sɛ okum no bi.
The blood-redeemer, he, shall put to death the man-slayer, —when he lighteth upon him, he, shall put him to death.
20 Enti sɛ obi nam ɔtan so tow biribi bɔ obi, anaa, sɛ ɔtetɛw no,
Or if with hate, he shall thrust at him, or hurl at him designedly, and he have died,
21 anaa ɔde abufuw bɔ no kuturuku na onii no wu a, ɔyɛ owudifo nti ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no.
or if with enmity, he hath smitten him with his hand and he is dead, then shall he that dealt the blow, be surely put to death. a manslayer, he is—the blood-redeemer shall put to death the man-slayer, when he lighteth upon him.
22 “‘Na sɛ emfi ɔtan so na obi sum ɔfoforo, anaa wanhyɛ da na ɔtow biribi ma ɛkɔbɔ obi,
But if suddenly, without enmity, he shall thrust him, or hurl upon him any missile, without design;
23 anaasɛ wanhu no na ogyaa ɔbo bi a ɛso a ebetumi akum no mu ma ekokum no a, esiane sɛ saa onipa no nyɛ ɔtamfo na onkura adwene bɔne bi nti,
Or with any stone whereby one might die without seeing him, and it fall upon him, and he dieth; he, not being at enmity with him, nor seeking to harm him,
24 ɛyɛ bagua no asɛde sɛ wodi asɛm na wɔfa saa mmarakwan yi so bu ɔweretɔni no nea ne nsa apa no ntam atɛn.
then shall the assembly judge, between him that smote and the blood-redeemer, —according to these regulations;
25 Ɛsɛ sɛ bagua no bɔ nea ne nsa apa no ho ban fi ɔweretɔni no nsam na wɔde nea ne nsa apa no san kɔ guankɔbea kuropɔn a oguan kɔɔ mu no mu. Ɛsɛ sɛ nea ne nsa apa no tena hɔ ara kosi sɛ ɔsɔfopanyin a wɔsraa no ngo bewu.
and the assembly shall rescue the manslayer out of the hand of the blood-redeemer, and the assembly shall restore him unto his city of refuge whither he had fled, —and he shall dwell therein until the death of the high priest, who hath been anointed with the hallowing oil.
26 “‘Nanso sɛ nea ne nsa apa no no fi guankɔbea kuropɔn a waguan akɔ mu no no ahye so
But if the man-slayer, go out, of the bounds of his city of refuge, whereinto he hath fled;
27 na ɔweretɔni no hu no wɔ hɔ a obetumi akum no a ɔrenni awudi ho fɔ.
and the blood-redeemer, find him, outside the bounds of his city of refuge, then may the blood-redeemer slay the slayer, without being guilty of blood;
28 Ɛsɛ sɛ nea ne nsa apa no tena guankɔbea kuropɔn no mu ara kosi sɛ ɔsɔfopanyin bewu. Ɔsɔfopanyin wu akyi nkutoo na obetumi asan akɔ nʼankasa agyapade ho.
for in his city of refuge, should he have remained, until the death of the high priest, —and, after the death of the high priest, might he have returned into the land which he doth possess.
29 “‘Ɛsɛ sɛ eyi yɛ mmara a mudi so wɔ awo ntoatoaso a ɛbɛba no nyinaa mu wɔ baabiara a mobɛtena.
So shall these serve you as a regulative statute unto your generations, —wheresoever ye may dwell.
30 “‘Ɛsɛ sɛ wokum obiara a obekum obi, nanso gye sɛ nnansefo a wɔboro onipa baako di tia no ansa na ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no. Sɛ onipa baako pɛ na odi adanse tia no de a, ɛno de, ɛnsɛ sɛ wokum no.
Whosoever taketh away life, at the mouth of witnesses, shall, the slayer be slain, —but, one witness, shall not testify against a person, to put him to death.
31 “‘Munnnye owudifo a ɛsɛ sɛ owu no ti mpata, nnyina so nnyaa no. Ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no.
And ye shall accept no ransom for the life of him that slayeth, if he have unlawfully caused death, —but he, must surely be put to death.
32 “‘Munnnye obi a waguan akɔ guankɔbea kuropɔn mu no ti mpata nnyina so mma no nsan mmɛtena nʼasase so bere a ɔsɔfopanyin bi nwui.
And ye shall accept no ransom for him that hath fled to his city of refuge, if he should return to dwell in the land before the death of the priest.
33 “‘Munngu asase a mote so no ho fi. Awudi gu asase ho fi, na wɔrentumi nyɛ mpata foforo biara mma asase a wɔahwie mogya agu so gye sɛ wɔde nea ohwiee mogya gui no mogya yɛ okum owudifo no.
So shall ye not pollute the land wherein ye are, for blood, doth pollute the land, and for the land, no propitiatory-covering can be made, as touching blood, that is shed therein, save with the blood of him that shed it;
34 Munngu asase a mote so ne faako a mete no ho fi, efisɛ Me, Awurade no, mete Israelfo no mu.’”
thou must not then make unclean the land wherein, ye, are dwelling, in the midst of which, I, have my habitation; for, I,—Yahweh, am making my habitation in the midst of the sons of Israel.
