< 4 Mose 31 >
1 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se,
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
2 “Esiane sɛ Midianfo daadaa mo de mo kɔɔ abosonsom mu no nti, tɔ so were ma Israelfo no. Eyi akyi no wubewu na woakɔ wʼagyanom nkyɛn.”
Avenge the children of Israel upon the Midianites; afterwards shalt thou be gathered unto thy peoples.
3 Mose ka kyerɛɛ nkurɔfo so se, “Munyi mo mmarima no mu bi na wɔnkɔ Awurade aweretɔ sa a ɔde tia Midianfo no.
And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm from amongst you men for military service, that they go against Midian to execute Jehovah's vengeance upon Midian.
4 Momfa Israel abusua biara mu nnipa apem nkɔ ɔsa no.”
Of every tribe a thousand, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
5 Wɔyɛɛ saa nyaa mmarima mpem dumien siesie wɔn maa ɔko no; Israel abusuakuw biara maa mmarima apem.
And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand by tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6 Afei Mose ma wɔkɔe, nnipa apem baako a wofi abusuakuw biara mu. Ɔsɔfo Eleasar babarima Pinehas na odii wɔn anim kɔɔ ɔko no. Wɔrekɔ no, wɔde akronkronne a ɛwɔ kronkronbea hɔ ne ntorobɛnto a wɔbɛhyɛn de ama asraafo no nsɛnkyerɛnne kɔe.
And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand by the tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, and the holy instruments, even the alarm-trumpets in his hand.
7 Wɔne Midiafo no koe, na sɛnea Awurade hyɛɛ Mose no wokum Midian mmarima no nyinaa.
And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and slew all the males.
8 Wɔn a wokum wɔn no bi ne Midian ahemfo baanum a wɔn din de Ewi, Rekem, Sur, Hur ne Reba. Beor babarima Balaam nso, wɔde afoa kum no.
And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the others slain, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
9 Afei, Israel asraafo no kyekyeree Midian mmea ne mmofra nyinaa ne wɔn anantwi ne wɔn nguan fom nneɛma pii kaa ho sɛ asade.
And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took for a spoil all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods;
10 Wɔtoo Midian no atenae, nkurow ne nkuraa nyinaa mu gya, hyew no pasaa.
and all their cities in their settlements and all their encampments they burned with fire.
11 Wɔfaa asade ne afowde a nnipa no ne mmoa ka ho.
And they took all the booty, and all the prey, of man and of cattle;
12 Wɔde nnommum no ne ɔko no mu nneɛma a wonyae no nyinaa brɛɛ Mose, ɔsɔfo Eleasar ne Israelfo a na wɔabɔ wɔn atenase wɔ Moab tataw so baabi a na ɛbɛn Asubɔnten Yordan a wotwa fi Yeriko baa hɔ no.
and they brought to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the assembly of the children of Israel, the captives and the prey and the booty, to the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan of Jericho.
13 Mose ne ɔsɔfo Eleasar ne mpanyimfo a wotuatua nnipa no ano no fii atenae hɔ kohyiaa nkonimdifo no kwan.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of the assembly went forth to meet them outside the camp.
14 Nanso Mose bo fuw mpanyimfo a wotuatua nsraadɔm apem ne ɔha no ano a wofi ɔsa no bae no.
And Moses was wroth with the officers of the army, with the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war;
15 Obisaa wɔn se, “So moankunkum mmea no?
and Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
16 Wɔn ne nnipa no a wotie Balaam nti wɔtwetwee Israelfo na amma wɔanni Awurade nokware kɔsom abosom wɔ bepɔw Peor so a enti ɛmaa ɔhaw ne abɛbrɛsɛ bebree baa Awurade nkurɔfo so no.
Lo, these, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the children of Israel to commit sin against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague on the assembly of Jehovah.
17 Munkunkum mmarimaa no nyinaa. Na munkunkum mmea a wɔne mmarima adeda no nyinaa.
And now slay every male among the little ones, and slay every woman that hath known man by lying with him,
18 Mmeawa nketewa a wɔne mmarima nnae no na munnyaa wɔn na mo ne wɔn ntena.
but all the children among the women that have not known lying with a man, keep alive for yourselves.
19 “Ɛsɛ sɛ obiara a wakum obi, anaa ɔde ne nsa kaa nea wɔakum no no, fi atenae ha nkɔtena baabi nnanson. Munnwira mo ho ne mo nnommum no nnansa ne ne nnanson so.
And encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever hath killed a person, and whoever hath touched any slain; ye shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20 Munnwira mo ntade ne biribiara a wɔde aboa nhoma, abirekyi nwi anaa dua ayɛ.”
And every garment, and every vessel of skin, and all work of goat's hair, and every utensil of wood shall ye purify.
21 Afei, ɔsɔfo Eleasar ka kyerɛɛ mmarima a wɔkɔɔ ɔko no se, “Eyi ne mmara a Awurade ahyɛ a waka akyerɛ Mose:
And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

everything that passeth through the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the water of separation; and everything that cannot pass through the fire ye shall make go through the water.
24 Nnanson so no, ɛsɛ sɛ mohoro mo ntade na mo ho afi. Afei mubetumi asan aba atenae hɔ.”
And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp.
25 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se,
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
26 “Ɛsɛ sɛ wo ne ɔsɔfo Eleasar ne mmusua no mpanyimfo nyinaa kan asade a nnipa ne mmoa a mofaa wɔ ɔko no mu no.
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, of man and of cattle, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the assembly;
27 Monkyɛ asade no mu abien pɛpɛɛpɛ mfa fa mma asraafo a wɔkɔɔ ɔko no na momfa fa a aka no mma nnipa a wɔaka no.
and divide the prey into halves, between them that conducted the war, who went out to the battle, and the whole assembly.
28 Asraafo a wɔkoo no kyɛfa mu no, munyi ahannum biara so baako; sɛ ɛyɛ nnipa, anantwi, mfurum anaa nguan na momfa nsom Awurade.
And thou shalt levy a tribute for Jehovah of the men of war who went out to the army, one soul of five hundred of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the small cattle.
29 Fa saa kyɛfa yi ma ɔsɔfo Eleasar na onhim no afɔremuka no anim mfa mma Awurade.
Of their half shall ye take it, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for a heave-offering of Jehovah.
30 Afei Israelfo a wɔaka no kyɛfa no, munyi aduonum biara mu baako; sɛ ɛyɛ nnipa, anantwi, mfurum, nguanten anaa mmoa foforo biara no, momfa mma Lewifo a wɔhwɛ Awurade Ahyiae Ntamadan no so no.”
And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the small cattle, of every [kind of] beasts, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.
31 Enti Mose ne ɔsɔfo Eleasar yɛɛ nea Awurade hyɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔnyɛ no.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
32 Asade a ɛkae a akofo no fae no dodow yɛ nguan mpem ahansia ne aduɔson anum;
And the prey, the rest of the spoil, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,

and seventy-two thousand oxen,
34 mfurum mpem aduosia baako;
and sixty-one thousand asses,
35 ne mmeawa mpem aduasa abien.
and of human persons, of the women that had not known lying with a man, all the persons were thirty-two thousand.
36 Nneɛma no fa a wɔde maa asraafo no dodow ni: Nguan mpem ahaasa aduasa ason ne ahannum
And the half, the portion of them that had gone out to the war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,

and the tribute for Jehovah of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five;
38 Anantwi mpem aduasa asia a wɔde mu aduɔson abien som Awurade;
and the oxen were thirty-six thousand, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, seventy-two;
39 mfurum mpem aduasa ne ahannum a wɔde emu aduosia baako som Awurade;
and the asses were thirty thousand five hundred, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, sixty-one;
40 mmeawa mpem dunsia; wɔde wɔn mu aduasa abien som Awurade.
and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons.
41 Kyɛfa a wɔde Awurade no nyinaa no wɔde maa ɔsɔfo Eleasar sɛnea Awurade kyerɛɛ Mose sɛ ɔnyɛ no ara pɛ.
And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah's heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
42 Asade no a Israelfo no nyaa no na edidi so yi:
And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses had divided, [taking it] from the men that served in the war,
43 nguan mpem ahaasa aduasa ason ne ahannum,
(now the half belonging to the assembly was of the sheep, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred,
44 anantwi mpem aduasa asia,
and thirty-six thousand oxen,
45 mfurum Mpem aduasa ne ahannum ne
and thirty thousand five hundred asses,
and sixteen thousand human persons, )
47 Nnipa no kyɛfa a wonyae no, Mose yiyii nnommum ne mmoa aduonum biara mu baako de maa Lewifo a wɔhwɛ Awurade Ahyiae Ntamadan so no. Wɔyɛɛ eyi nyinaa sɛnea Awurade hyɛɛ Mose no.
...of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
48 Afei, asraafo no so mpanyimfo baa Mose nkyɛn
And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,
49 bɛka kyerɛɛ no se, “Yɛabu nnipa a yɛde wɔn kɔɔ ɔko no nyinaa ano akyerɛ wo na ɔbaako koraa anyera.
and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.

So we present the offering of Jehovah, that which each one hath found, jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.
51 Mose ne ɔsɔfo Eleasar gyee saa akyɛde yi a ɛyɛ sikakɔkɔɔ ne nnwinne no fii asraafo mpanyimfo no nkyɛn.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, all manner of wrought jewels.
52 Ne nyinaa mu sikakɔkɔɔ a asahene no de bae sɛ akyɛde a wɔde rebrɛ Awurade no ano si nkaribo kilogram ɔha ne aduɔkron.
And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered to Jehovah was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.
53 Na asraafo no afa ɔko no mu nneɛma a wonyae no bi.
(The men of war had taken spoil each one for himself.)
54 Enti Mose ne Eleasar gyee akyɛde no fii asraafo mpanyimfo no hɔ, na wɔde sikakɔkɔɔ no baa Ahyiae Ntamadan no mu sɛ ɛnyɛ nkae ade mma Awurade sɛ Israelfo yɛ ne dea.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
