< Mateo 6 >

1 “Monhwɛ yiye na moanyɛ papa ankyerɛ nnipa amfa ampɛ anuonyam. Sɛ moyɛ saa a, morennya mfaso biara mfi mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no nkyɛn.
“Take heed not to do your kindness before men, to be seen by them, and if not—you have no reward from your Father who [is] in the heavens;
2 “Sɛ woyɛ papa a mmɔ no dawuru sɛnea nyaatwomfo yɛ wɔ asɔredan mu ne mmɔnten so no. Merema mo ate sɛ saa nnipa no anya wɔn akatua dedaw.
whenever, therefore, you may do kindness, you may not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues, and in the streets, that they may have glory from men; truly I say to you, they have their reward!
3 Sɛ woyɛ papa a, mma obiara nhu, mpo sɛ wode wo nsa nifa yɛ papa a, mma wo nsa benkum nhu,
But you, doing kindness, do not let your left hand know what your right hand does,
4 na wʼagya a onim kokoa mu nsɛm nyinaa no betua wo ka.
that your kindness may be in secret, and your Father who is seeing in secret will reward you Himself.
5 “Na sɛ morebɔ mpae a, mommmɔ mpae sɛnea nyaatwomfo gyina asɔredan mu ne mmɔnten so bɔ mpae de pɛ nnipa anim anuonyam no. Merema moate ase sɛ, saa nnipa no anya wɔn akatua dedaw.
And when you may pray, you will not be as the hypocrites, because they cherish to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the broad places, that they may be seen of men; truly I say to you that they have their reward.
6 Sɛ wobɔ mpae a, hyɛn wo dan mu, na to wo pon mu, na bɔ wʼAgya a wonhu no no mpae, na wʼAgya a onim kokoa mu nsɛm no betua wo ka.
But you, when you may pray, go into your chamber, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who [is] in secret, and your Father who is seeing in secret will reward you.
7 Sɛ mobɔ mpae a, monnkasakasa bebree, nti nsɛm mu nsusuw sɛ, sɛ moyɛ saa a na Onyankopɔn betie mo.
And—praying—you may not use vain repetitions like the nations, for they think that in their speaking much they will be heard,
8 Mo Agya Nyankopɔn nim nea ehia mo nyinaa ansa na mubisa no.
therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows those things that you have need of before your asking Him;
9 “Enti saa ɔkwan yi so na momfa mmɔ mpae: “‘Yɛn Agya a wowɔ ɔsoro, wo din ho ntew.
therefore pray thus: Our Father who [is] in the heavens, hallowed be Your Name.
10 Wʼahenni mmra. Nea wopɛ nyɛ wɔ asase so, sɛnea ɛyɛ wɔ ɔsoro.
Your kingdom come, Your will come to pass, as in Heaven also on the earth.
11 Ma yɛn, yɛn daa aduan nnɛ,
Give us today our appointed bread.
12 na fa yɛn aka kyɛ yɛn, sɛnea yɛde kyɛ wɔn a wɔde yɛn aka.
And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
13 Nnyaa yɛn nkɔ sɔhwɛ mu. Na yi yɛn fi ɔbɔnefo no nsam.’
And may You not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one], because Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory—for all ages. Amen.
14 Sɛ mode wɔn a wɔfom mo mfomso kyɛ wɔn a, mo nso mo ɔsoro Agya no de mo mfomso bɛkyɛ mo.
For if you may forgive men their trespasses He also will forgive you—your Father who [is] in the heavens;
15 Nanso sɛ moamfa wɔn a wɔfom mo mfomso ankyɛ wɔn a, mo ɔsoro Agya no nso remfa mo mfomso nkyɛ mo.”
but if you may not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16 “Sɛ mudi mmuada a, monnyɛ mo anim mmɔbɔmmɔbɔ sɛnea nyaatwomfo di mmuada a wɔyɛ de pɛ nnipa anim anuonyam no. Merema mo ate ase sɛ, saa nnipa no anya wɔn akatua dedaw.
And when you may fast, do not be as the hypocrites, of sour countenances, for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men fasting; truly I say to you that they have their reward.
17 Sɛ wudi mmuada a, serɛn wo ti, na hohoro wʼanim, na ma wʼanim nyɛ frɔmfrɔm,
But you, fasting, anoint your head, and wash your face,
18 na mma nnipa nhu sɛ woredi mmuada, gye wʼAgya a ohu nea woyɛ wɔ kokoa mu nyinaa no nko ara; na wʼAgya a onim kokoa mu nsɛm nyinaa no betua wo ka.
that you may not appear to men fasting, but to your Father who [is] in secret, and your Father, who is seeing in secret, will reward you.
19 “Monnhyehyɛ mo agyapade wɔ asase yi so, nea ntɛferɛw betumi awe, na ebetumi agye nkannare na asɛe, na akorɔmfo betumi awia.
Do not treasure up to yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust disfigure, and where thieves break through and steal,
20 Mmom monhyehyɛ mo agyapade wɔ ɔsoro, nea ntɛferɛw ntumi nwe, na entumi nnye nkannare nsɛe, na akorɔmfo ntumi nwia.
but treasure up to yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust disfigure, and where thieves do not break through nor steal,
21 Na nea wʼagyapade wɔ no, ɛhɔ na wo koma nso wɔ.
for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 “Wʼani yɛ wo nipadua kanea. Ɛno nti sɛ wʼani ye a, na wo nipadua nyinaa yɛ hann.
The lamp of the body is the eye, if, therefore, your eye may be perfect, all your body will be enlightened,
23 Nanso sɛ wʼaniwa nye a, ɛma wo nipadua no nyinaa dan sum tumm. Enti sɛ hann a ɛwɔ wo mu no yɛ sum a, na wo nipadua no yɛ sum kabii.
but if your eye may be evil, all your body will be dark; if, therefore, the light that [is] in you is darkness—the darkness, how great!
24 “Obiara ntumi nsom awuranom baanu, efisɛ ɔyɛ saa a, ɔbɛdɔ ɔbaako na watan ɔbaako anaasɛ, ɔbɛsom ɔbaako yiye na wabu ɔbaako animtiaa. Morentumi nsom Onyankopɔn ne ahonyade.
None is able to serve two lords, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to the one, and despise the other; you are not able to serve God and wealth.
25 “Eyi nti na mitu mo fo se, munnnwinnwen nea mubedi anaa nea mobɛnom anaa nea mubefura ho. Mowɔ ɔkra ne nipadua a ɛsom bo sen nea mubedi ne nea mubefura.
Because of this I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, what you may eat, and what you may drink, nor for your body, what you may put on. Is not life more than nourishment, and the body than clothing?
26 Monhwɛ wim nnomaa, wonnua aba na wontwa aba mmoaboa ano mfa nsie, nanso mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no ma wɔn aduan di. Monnsom bo nsen wɔn ana?
Look to the birds of the sky, for they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into storehouses, and your heavenly Father nourishes them; are you not much better than they?
27 Mo mu hena na ɔdwene a adwennwene no betumi ato ne nkwa nna so simmasin mpo?
And who of you, being anxious, is able to add to his age one cubit?
28 “Adɛn nti na mudwinnwen ntama ho? Monhwɛ afifide bi sɛ wuram nhwiren, wɔnnwene ntama ho.
And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider well the lilies of the field; how do they grow? They do not labor, nor do they spin;
29 Nanso Salomo ahonya ne nʼanuonyam nyinaa akyi no, na nʼahoɔfɛ nnu wuram nhwiren yi.
and I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as one of these.
30 Na sɛ Onyankopɔn tumi fura afifide a ɛwɔ hɔ nnɛ na ɔkyena enni hɔ ntama a, mo a mo gyidi sua, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na ɔrentumi mma mo nea ehia mo?
And if the herb of the field, that today is, and tomorrow is cast into the furnace, God so clothes—not much more you, O you of little faith?
31 Enti munnnwinnwen nea mubedi, nea mobɛnom anaasɛ nea mubefura ho.
Therefore you may not be anxious, saying, What may we eat? Or, What may we drink? Or, [With] what may we be clothed?
32 Na wɔn a wonni gyidi no na bere biara wodwen saa nneɛma no ho. Na mo de, mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no nim sɛ eyinom nyinaa ho hia mo.
For the nations seek for all these, for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these;
33 Enti monhwehwɛ Onyankopɔn Ahenni ne ne trenee kan, na ɔde nea ehia mo nyinaa bɛka mo ho.
but seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these will be added to you.
34 Enti munnnwinnwen ɔkyena ho. Onyankopɔn no ara de nea ehia mo no bɛma mo. Ɛda biara ne mu nsɛm.
Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for its own things; sufficient for the day [is] the evil of it.”
