< Mateo 5 >
1 Ohuu nnipakuw no saa no, ɔkɔɔ bepɔw bi so. Ɔtenaa ase no, nʼasuafo no kɔɔ ne nkyɛn.
Jesus, seeing so great a confluence, repaired to a mountain, and having sat down, his disciples came to him.
2 Na ofii ase kyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔn se,
Then breaking silence, he taught them, saying:
3 “Nhyira ne wɔn a wonim sɛ wɔyɛ ahiafo wɔ honhom mu, na wɔn na ɔsoro ahenni yɛ wɔn dea.
Happy the poor who repine not; for the kingdom of heaven is theirs!
4 Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔn werɛ ahow, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛkyekye wɔn werɛ.
Happy they who mourn; for they shall receive consolation!
5 Nhyira ne ahobrɛasefo, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛma wɔadi asase so.
Happy the meek; for they shall inherit the land!
6 Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔn pɛ ne sɛ wɔbɛyɛ Onyankopɔn apɛde, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛma wɔn nea ehia wɔn.
Happy they who hunger and thirst for righteousness; for they shall be satisfied!
7 Nhyira ne wɔn a wohu mmɔbɔ, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn behu wɔn mmɔbɔ.
Happy the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy!
8 Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔn koma mu tew, na wɔn na wobehu Onyankopɔn.
Happy the pure in heart; for they shall see God!
9 Nhyira ne apatafo, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛfrɛ wɔn ne mma.
Happy the peace-makers; for they shall be called sons of God!
10 Nhyira ne wɔn a esiane sɛ wɔyɛ Onyankopɔn apɛde nti, wɔtaa wɔn, na wɔn na Ɔsoro Ahenni no yɛ wɔn dea.
Happy they who suffer persecution on account of righteousness; for the kingdom of heaven is theirs!
11 “Nhyira ne mo a me din mu nti, wɔyaw mo, taa mo, twa atoro, ka asɛmmɔne to mo so.
Happy shall you be, when men shall revile and persecute you; and, on my account, accuse you falsely of every evil thing!
12 Momma mo ani nnye na monsɛpɛw mo ho, efisɛ mowɔ akatua a ɛso wɔ ɔsoro. Munhu sɛ saa ara na wɔtaa adiyifo a wodii mo kan no.”
Rejoice and exult, for great is your reward in heaven; for thus the Prophets were persecuted, who were before you.
13 “Mone asase yi so nkyene. Sɛ nkyene dɛ yera a, ɔkwan bɛn so na wɔbɛfa ama ayɛ nkyene bio? Enye mma hwee bio, gye sɛ wohwie gu na nnipa tiatia so.
You are the salt of the earth. If the salt become insipid, how shall its saltness be restored? It is thenceforth fit only to be cast out, and trod under foot.
14 “Mone wiase kanea. Kurow a ɛda bepɔw so no ntumi nhintaw.
You are the light of the world. A city situate on a mountain must be conspicuous.
15 Wɔnnsɔ kanea mfa nsie, na mmom wɔde si petee mu na ahyerɛn ama wɔn a wɔwɔ ofi no mu no nyinaa.
A lamp is lighted to be put, not under a vessel, but on a stand, that it may shine to all the family.
16 Saa ara na momma mo nneyɛe pa nna adi mma nnipa nhu na wɔafa so ahyɛ mo Agya a ɔwɔ soro no anuonyam.”
Thus, let your light shine before men, that they, seeing your good actions, may glorify your Father, who is in heaven.
17 “Munnsusuw sɛ maba sɛ merebɛsɛe Mmara no anaa Adiyifo no nkyerɛkyerɛ no. Na mmom maba sɛ merebɛhyɛ no ma sɛnea ne nyinaa bɛba mu pɛpɛɛpɛ.
Think not that I am come to subvert the law or the prophets. I am come not to subvert, but to ratify.
18 Munhu sɛ ɔsoro ne asase da so wɔ hɔ yi, Mmara no mu biribiara rensakra da kosi sɛ ne nyinaa bɛba mu.
For, indeed, I say to you, heaven and earth shall sooner perish, than one iota, or on tittle of the law shall perish, without attaining its end.
19 Eyi nti, obiara a obebu mmara nsɛm no mu fa bi so na ɔbɛkyerɛkyerɛ afoforo ama wɔn nso abu mmara nsɛm no mu fa bi so no bɛyɛ akumaa ɔsoro ahenni mu. Na obiara a obedi mmara no so, na ɔbɛkyerɛkyerɛ afoforo ama wɔn nso adi mmara no so no bɛyɛ ɔkɛse Ɔsoro Ahenni mu.
Whosoever, therefore, shall violate, or teach others to violate, were it the least of these commandments, shall be in no esteem in the Reign of Heaven; but whosoever shall practice and teach them, shall be highly esteemed in the Reign of Heaven.
20 Enti merebɔ mo kɔkɔ sɛ, sɛ mopɛ sɛ mokɔ ɔsoro ahenni mu de a, gye sɛ moyɛ Onyankopɔn apɛde sen nea Kyerɛwsɛm no akyerɛkyerɛfo no ne Farisifo no yɛ.
For I tell you, that unless your righteousness excel the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, you shall never enter the kingdom of heaven.
21 “Mose mmara no ka se, ‘Nea odi awu no, ɔno nso ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no bi.’
You have heard that it was said to the ancients, "You shall not commit murder; for whosoever commits murder shall be obnoxious to the judges."
22 Na me de, nea mereka ne sɛ, obiara a ne bo befuw ne nua no, wobebu no atɛn. Bio, obiara a ɔbɛyeyaw ne nua no, wɔbɛfrɛ no wɔ mpanyin anim. Afei obiara a ɔbɛka akyerɛ ne nua se, ‘Ogyimifo’ no bɛkɔ amanehunu gya mu. (Geenna )
But I say to you, whosoever is angry with his brother unjustly, shall be obnoxious to the judges; whosoever shall call him fool, shall be obnoxious to the council; but whosoever shall call him miscreant, shall be obnoxious to hell fire. (Geenna )
23 “Enti sɛ ɛba sɛ worekɔbɔ afɔre na wokae sɛ wo ne wo nua wɔ asɛm a,
Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recollect, that your brother has ground to complain of you;
24 gyae afɔre no bɔ, na kɔ na wo ne wo nua no nkɔbɔ mu ansa na woakɔbɔ wʼafɔre no.
leave there your gift before the altar: first go and procure reconciliation with your brother; then come, and offer your gift.
25 “Sɛ wo ne obi nya asɛm a, wo ne no mmɔ mu ntɛm, na wamfa wo ankɔ asennii ankɔma otemmufo, na otemmufo no amfa wo anhyɛ afiasehwɛfo nsa, na afiasehwɛfo no amfa wo ankɔto afiase.
Compound speedily with your creditor, while you are on the road together; lest he deliver you to the judge; and the judge consign you to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
26 Mereka no nokware akyerɛ mo se, ansa na wubefi asennii hɔ no, gye sɛ woatua sika biara a wɔregye afi wo hɔ no.
Indeed, I say to you, you will not be released, until you have discharged the last farthing.
27 “Mose mmara no ka se, ‘Nsɛe aware.’
You have heard that it was said, "You shall not commit adultery."
28 Na me de, nea mereka ne sɛ: Obiara a ohu ɔbea na ne kɔn dɔ no ne koma mu no, abɔ aguaman.
But I say to you, whoever looks on another man's wife, in order to cherish impure desire, has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 Sɛ wʼani baako a eye to wo hintidua a, eye sɛ wubetu atow akyene. Efisɛ eye sɛ wobɛhwere wʼakwaa fa bi sen sɛ wɔbɛtow wo nipadua no nyinaa akyene amanehunu gya mu. (Geenna )
Therefore, if your right eye ensnare you, pluck it out, and throw it away: it is better for you to lose one of your members, than that your whole body be cast into hell. (Geenna )
30 Saa ara nso na sɛ wo nsa a eye to wo hintidua a, eye sɛ wubetwa atow akyene. Efisɛ eye sɛ wobɛhwere wʼakwaa fa bi sen sɛ wɔbɛtow wo nipadua nyinaa akyene amanehunu gya mu. (Geenna )
And if your right hand ensnare you, cut it off and throw it away: it is better for you to lose one of your members, than that your whole body be cast into hell. (Geenna )
31 “Mose mmara no ka se, ‘Obiara a obegyaa ne yere no mma no awaregyae krataa.’
It has been said, "Whosoever would dismiss his wife, let him give her a writ of divorce."
32 Na me de, nea mereka ne sɛ, sɛ ɔbarima bi gyaa ne yere a ɛnyɛ sɛ ɔbea no abɔ aguaman na ɔbea no san kɔware bio a, na ɔbarima a ogyaa no no ama ɔbea no asɛe aware. Ɔbarima foforo a ɔbɛware ɔbea no nso asɛe aware saa ara.
But I say to you, whosoever shall dismiss his wife, except for whoredom, is the occasion of her becoming an adulteress; and whosoever marries her that is dismissed, commits adultery.
33 “Bio, Mose mmara no ka se, ‘Mmu bɔ a woahyɛ Onyankopɔn no so, na mmom di bɔ a woahyɛ no no so.’
Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, "You shall not forswear yourself, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord."
34 Na me de, nea mereka ne sɛ: Monnka ntam mmfa nhyɛ bɔ. Monnnɔ ɔsoro, efisɛ ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn ahengua.
But I say to you, swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is God's throne;
35 Monnnɔ fam, efisɛ ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn nan ase agua. Monnnɔ Yerusalem, efisɛ ɛyɛ ɔhenkɛse kuropɔn.
nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; neither shall you swear by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King;
36 Mfa wo ti nka ntam, efisɛ worentumi nnan tinwi baako mpo mma ɛnyɛ fitaa anaa tuntum.
not by your head, because you can not make one hair white or black.
37 Momma mo nsɛm nyɛ ‘Yiw’ anaa ‘Dabi.’ Asɛm biara a wobɛka a ɛnyɛ Yiw anaa dabi no fi ɔbonsam.
But let your yes, be Yes; your no, No; for whatever exceeds these, proceeds from evil.
38 “Mose mmara no ka se, ‘Sɛ obi tu wʼani a, tu ne de bi. Sɛ obi tu wo se nso a, tu ne de bi.’
You have heard that it was said, "Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth."
39 Na me de, nea mereka ne se: Mommfa bɔne ntua bɔne so ka! Sɛ obi bɔ wʼaso nifa mu a, dan benkum no nso ma no na ɔmmɔ mu.
But I say to you, contend not with the injurious. But if any one strike you on the right cheek, turn to him also the left.
40 Sɛ obi ne wo di asɛm gye wʼatade nhyɛase a, worɔw wʼatade nguguso ka ho ma no.
Whoever will sue you for your coat, let him have your mantle likewise.
41 Sɛ obi hyɛ wo sɛ, wo ne no nnantew ɔkwansin baako a, wo ne no nkɔ akwansin abien.
And if a man constrain you to go one mile with him, go two.
42 Sɛ obi srɛ wo biribi a, fa ma no; obi pɛ sɛ ɔfɛm wo hɔ biribi a, fa fɛm no.
Give to him that asks you; and him that would borrow from you, put not away.
43 “Moate sɛ wɔaka se, ‘Dɔ wo yɔnko na tan wo tamfo.’
You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy."
44 Na me de, nea mereka ne sɛ: monnɔ mo atamfo na mommɔ mpae mma wɔn a wɔhaw mo.
But I say to you, love your enemies; bless them who curse you; do good to them who hate you; and pray for them who arraign and persecute you;
45 Eyi bɛma moayɛ mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no mma, efisɛ ɔma ne owia pue, ma ne osu tɔ ma nnipa bɔne ne nnipa pa nyinaa pɛ.
that you may be children of your Father in heaven, who makes his sun arise on bad and good, and sends rain on just and unjust.
46 Sɛ modɔ wɔn a wɔdɔ mo no nko ara a, akatua bɛn na mubenya? Ɛnyɛ saa ara na nnebɔneyɛfo nso yɛ?
For if you love them only who love you, what reward can you expect? Do not even the publicans so?
47 Sɛ mukyia wɔn a munim wɔn nko ara a, nsonoe bɛn na ɛda mo ne afoforo ntam? Ɛnyɛ saa ara na nnebɔneyɛfo nso yɛ?
And if you salute your brothers only, wherein do you excel? Do not even the Pagans as much?
48 Enti monyɛ pɛ sɛnea mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no yɛ pɛ no.
Be you therefore perfect, as your father who is in heaven is perfect.
