Mateo 27
1 Ade kyee no, asɔfo mpanyin ne Yudafo mpanyin kɔɔ agyina, hwehwɛɛ ɔkwan a wɔbɛfa so ama wɔakum Yesu.
Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him to Pilate, the governor.

Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse, and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 “Mayɛ bɔne, efisɛ mayi onipa a ɔnyɛɛ bɔne biara no ama.” Wɔn nso kae se, “Ɛmfa yɛn ho. Ɛyɛ wo ara wʼasɛm.”
saying, "I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood." But they said, "What is that to us? You see to it."

He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself.
6 Asɔfo mpanyin no sesaw sika no kae se, “Yɛrentumi mfa saa sika yi mfra yɛn tow a yɛagye mu. Efisɛ yɛn mmara mma ho kwan sɛ yebegye sika a wɔde abɔ awudi ho paa.”
The chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, "It's not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood."
7 Wodwinnwen ho sii gyinae se, wɔde sika no bɛtɔ asase bi a wotu dɔte wɔ mu de nwen nkuku, na wɔde ɛhɔ ayɛ amusiei ama ahɔho a wobewu wɔ Yerusalem no.
They took counsel, and bought the potter's field with them, to bury strangers in.
8 Enti na wɔda so frɛ saa asase no se, “Mogya Asase” de besi nnɛ yi.
Therefore that field was called "The Field of Blood" to this day.

Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the children of Israel priced,

and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."

Now Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus said to him, "You say so."

When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

Then Pilate said to him, "Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?"

He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner, whom they desired.

They had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?"

For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

But the governor answered them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas."

Pilate said to them, "What then should I do with Jesus, who is called Christ?" They all said, "Let him be crucified."

But he said, "Why? What evil has he done?" But they shouted all the louder, saying, "Let him be crucified."

So Pilate, seeing that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, took water and he washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man. You see to it."

All the people answered, "May his blood be on us, and on our children."

Then he released to them Barabbas, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.

Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.

They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.
29 na wɔde nsɔe atenten nwenee kyɛw hyɛɛ no, na wɔde dua bi hyɛɛ ne nsa nifa sɛ ahempema, na wobubuu nkotodwe wɔ nʼanim fii ase bɔ gyee so, dii ne ho fɛw se, “Yudafo Hene, wo nkwa so.”
They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, "Greetings, King of the Jews."
30 Wɔtetee ntasu guu ne so na wogyee dua no fii ne nsam de paa nʼapampam ntoatoaso.
They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.
31 Wodii ne ho fɛw wiei no, wɔworɔw batakari kɔkɔɔ a wɔde hyɛɛ no no, de nʼankasa atade no san hyɛɛ no. Afei wɔde no kɔɔ sɛ wɔrekɔbɔ no asennua mu.
When they had mocked him, they took the robe off of him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32 Bere a wɔde no rekɔ faako a wɔbɔ asennua mu hɔ no, wohyiaa ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Simon a ofi Kirene a ɛwɔ Abibirim. Wɔhyɛɛ no ma ɔsoaa Yesu asennua no bi.
As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.
33 Wɔde Yesu kɔɔ baabi a wɔfrɛ hɔ Golgota a ne nkyerɛase ne “Nitiri So.”
They came to a place called "Golgotha," that is to say, "The place of a skull."
34 Ɛhɔ na asraafo no maa no nsa nwenweenwen bi sɛ ɔnnom. Yesu kaa nʼano no, wannom.
They gave him wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.
35 Afei wɔbɔɔ no asennua mu no, wɔbɔɔ nʼatade no so ntonto kyekyɛ fae.
When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among themselves, casting a lot, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: 'They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast a lot.'

And they sat and watched him there.
37 Wɔkyerɛw nsɛm a wɔka guu ne so no bi fam nʼatifi se, “YESU, YUDAFO HENE NO NI.”
They set up over his head the accusation against him written, "THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
38 Wɔbɔɔ awudifo baanu bi asennua mu kaa Yesu ho. Na ɔbaako sɛn ne nifa so na ɔbaako nso dɛn ne benkum so.
Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
39 Nnipa a wotwaa mu wɔ hɔ no nyinaa wosow wɔn ti, yeyaw no
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,
40 se, “Wo na wuse sɛ wubetumi abubu asɔredan na wode nnansa asi no, gye wo ho! Sɛ woyɛ Onyankopɔn Ba ampa ara a, ɛno de sian fi asennua no so si fam ma yɛnhwɛ!”
and saying, "You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross."
41 Saa ara nso na asɔfo mpanyin ne Yudafo mpanyin bedii ne ho fɛw se,
Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, and the elders, said,
42 “Ogye afoforo, nanso ontumi nnye ne ho! Sɛ wone Israelfo hene no ampa ara a, sian fi asennua no so si fam, na yennye wo nni.
"He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.
43 Ɔde ne ho too Onyankopɔn so. Afei ma Onyankopɔn nnye no! Waka nso se, ‘Meyɛ Onyankopɔn Ba.’”
He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
44 Awudifo bi a wɔbɔɔ wɔne no asennua mu no nso yeyaw no saa ara.
The robbers also who were crucified with him insulted him in the same way.
45 Bere a wɔbɔɔ Yesu asennua mu no, sum duruu asase so mmaa nyinaa fi owigyinae kɔpem nnɔnabiɛsa.
Now from noon until three in the afternoon there was darkness over all the land.
46 Ɛbɛyɛ nnɔnabiɛsa bere mu no, Yesu teɛɛ mu dennen se, “Eli, Eli, lama sabaktani?” Ase kyerɛ sɛ, “Me Nyankopɔn, me Nyankopɔn, adɛn nti na woagyaw me?”
Then at about three in the afternoon Jesus called out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema shabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
47 Wɔn a wogyina hɔ no bi tee no wɔkae se, “Ɔrefrɛ Elia.”
Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, "This man is calling Elijah."

Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.

The rest said, "Let him be. Let us see whether Elijah comes to save him."

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

And look, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.

The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53 Yesu wusɔre akyi no, wopuepue fii wɔn nna mu kɔɔ Yerusalem, koyii wɔn ho adi kyerɛɛ nnipa bebree.
and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
54 Asraafo a wɔwɔ hɔ no huu asase wosow ne nsɛm a esisii wɔ hɔ no, wɔn koma tuu yiye ma wɔkae se, “Ampa ara, onipa yi yɛ Onyankopɔn Ba.”
Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."
55 Saa bere no na mmea bebree a Yesu ho dɔ nti, wodii nʼakyi fii Galilea no gyinagyina akyiri baabi rehwɛ nea ɛrekɔ so.
Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.
56 Mmea no bi ne Maria Magdalene ne Maria a ɔyɛ Yakobo ne Yosef na. Na Sebedeo mmabarima no na nso ka ho.
Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
57 Eduu anwummere no, osikani bi a wɔfrɛ no Yosef a ofi Arimatea a na ɔyɛ Yesu suani no,
When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus' disciple came.
58 kɔɔ Pilato hɔ kɔsrɛ ma wɔde Yesu amu no maa no.
This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded that it be released.
59 Yosef faa amu no de nwera kyekyeree ho,
Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

and placed it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
61 Maria Magdalene ne Maria baako no de, na wɔte nkyɛn baabi rewɛn ɔboda no.
Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.
62 Ade kyee a ɛyɛ da a edi Twam Afahyɛ no ahosiesie akyi no, asɔfo mpanyin ne Farisifo no kɔɔ Pilato nkyɛn,
Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,
63 kɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Owura, ɔtorofo no kaa bere bi se, ‘Nnansa akyi no mɛsɔre.’
saying, "Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: 'After three days I will rise again.'

Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He is risen from the dead;' and the last deception will be worse than the first."
65 Pilato ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Momfa awɛmfo. Momma wɔnkɔwɛn.”
Pilate said to them, "You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can."
66 Enti wɔkɔtetaree ɔboda no ano, maa awɛmfo kɔwɛn hɔ.
So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.
